Prologue
Chutki was a girl who lived in North India. She lived in her home with her small brother, grandparents and her mother and father. Being a class 5th student, she liked studying, painting, playing with her friends and her mother's cooking.
If someone mistakenly called her Mutki, she would be as furious as fire. There was also one thing that she loved, fish. Of course, not as in keeping fish as pets, but as food!
It was morning when Chutki's mother called,"Chutki, get ready for school! It's already six in the morning."
"Getting up mummy." Chutki said while rubbing her eyes with a frown. Which kid loved getting up in the morning, that to for school?
After Chutki was ready and had her milk, her mother rushed from the kitchen and handed her the tiffin and bottle. She bid off her mother and went to school. It was maths class when the teacher finished giving students the daily homework.
"Today I will surprise mummy by catching the biggest fish in the town lake. Then she will make some tasty fish curry." Chutki thought as her mouth watered at the thought of fish curry.
After school, the school kids usually went out to play by the lake. Some went home to have lunch and rest. While some used to cycle in the streets. You can't expect middle school kids studying again just after their school got over.
Rather than going home that day and finish her homework and lunch, Chutki rushed towards the town lake in her school uniform. After all, fish curry in dinner was waiting!
As she reached, she saw some kids splashing water onto each other, some dipped their feet in the cool water. Chutki got her fishing bow and removed her shoes and socks. Slowly she dipped her feet into the cool lake water and threw the bow with bait.
"This time, I will catch a big fish!" Chutki was confident yet nervous as it was her first time catching fish. As time went by, nothing on the fishing bow. But Chutki wasn't going to give up!
Time flew away and evening setted. The school kids started leaving the lake in the fear that their mothers would teach them a lesson for getting home late. Chutki was also fed up, hungry and still had no fish. She frowned as she looked at the red sun dipping into the lake's horizon.
