Chris Is On TV

Dandelions - Ruth B.

Lydia drove us through the gate and into the gated apartments. We ended up going to the fourth building and parking in Stiles' reserved parking spot. The three of us all got out and started to grab Stiles' things. Holding a box labeled 'dishes', I started to walk towards the stairs.

"What floor are you on again, babe?" I called over my shoulder.

"The third floor. Room three nineteen." Stiles answered, holding his pillow and his duffel bag. He jogged past me, already going up the stairs. "Let me go ahead and go first so I can open the door for you guys. I'll come back to get some of the boxes."

Lydia and I nodded, following Stiles to his apartment. Stiles opened his door and held it open for us. As I walked in, I looked around the apartment. It was pretty empty besides a couch, a television, a dining table, two chairs, a stove, a microwave, and an oven. I set the box on top of the table.

"This isn't a bad place, Stiles." Lydia hummed, setting another box next to mine. "It comes with the important furniture, right?"

"Yeah, this stuff," Stiles waved towards the furniture in the living room and kitchen, "plus my bed and dresser in the room."

"Well, I'll just help you guys bring everything in here and then I need to start heading towards the airport." Lydia told us.

"Airport?" I looked at her in confusion. "I thought you were heading home tomorrow."

"Nope, today. I need to help my mom set up her office back at school now that she's the principal." Lydia informed us.

"What time is your flight?" Stiles questioned, already heading out the door. I followed suit, walking down the stairs.

"In three hours, but you know how long it takes before you even get on the plane." Lydia rolled her eyes. "Plus I need to drop off the van at a U-Haul place right next door to the airport."

"No, I don't." I shook my head in disgust. "And I don't want to ever want to experience it. Ever."

"It's not that bad." Stiles shrugged, already grabbing another box.

"Uh...it is for me! Zeus hates me." I whined, already having a box in my arms. "He will purposely put bad turbulence or something just to see my discomfort."

"Well, then just avoid planes for the rest of your life." Lydia chuckled with her hands full of bags.

"That's my plan." I chirped, climbing up the stairs and entering Stiles' place.

"Alright," Stiles set his box down and placed his hands on his hips. He checked the boxes to see if we have everything. "Is that everything?"

"Yup! I got your bed sheets, comforter, and Nev's bags." Lydia set everything on the ground.

"Great!" Stiles clapped his hands together with a grin. "Now to unpack."

"And I'm leaving." Lydia immediately said, grabbing her purse. I let out a chuckled and brought her into a hug.

"See you soon. Take care, okay? And if you guys ever need me, call my house phone or try IMing me." I told her.

"I will, and you take care too. If you ever need any help with college applications or the SATs, you can always come over to my place." Lydia let go of the hug.

"Uh, no, she can come to mine." Stiles narrowed his eyes at Lydia, wrapping his arms around my waist. He pulled me into his chest and set his chin on top of my head.

"Yeah, sure." Lydia scoffed, rolling her eyes. I giggled at the two. Stiles kissed the crown of my head and let go of me to give Lydia a hug. "Have fun with the FBI."

"If you guys need me-"

"We'll let you know. Don't worry." Lydia cut Stiles off. "Just enjoy the freedom of being away from the supernatural drama."

"Oh trust me, I will." Stiles ridiculed. A look was exchanged between Lydia and I.  "Don't look at each other like that! I truly will!"

"Sure, Stiles. Whatever you say." I smiled, walking towards him and kissing him.

"Don't try and distract me, Nev." Stiles murmured against my lips.

"I would never." I mocked, a smirk tugging at the corners of my lips. Stiles scoffed at me, placing his hands on my hips and bringing me closer to him.

"Okay, I'm leaving before things get steamy in here." Lydia started to head out of the door. She waved goodbye, opening the door. "Take care you two, I'll keep you guys updated."

We both yelled out a form of goodbye before Lydia walked out the door, closing it behind her. Stiles went to go lock the door, while I started to open a box. As I started to take out the kitchen supplies, arms snaked themselves around me followed by a peck on my cheek.

"Want me to order some pizza?" Stiles asked me, placing his chin on my shoulder as he looked at me.

"That would be great." I grinned. "We can get most of the kitchen supplies put away by the time they deliver the pizza."

"Sounds like a plan. I'll go ahead and look up the nearest pizza place and have them deliver a pizza to us." Stiles pressed his lips against mine. He pulled away and dug out his phone from his pocket. "Hawaiian sound good?"

"Yeah, and order some drinks too while you're at it. We have nothing here." I told him. Taking out some of the pots and pans, I walked towards a cupboard and placed them inside.

"Alright." Stiles nodded, typing in a number.

Stiles ordered our food and drinks whilst I unpacked the kitchen supplies. Once he was finished, he opened another box and started to unpack those items. By the time the delivery man arrived with our pizza, we already had the kitchen and living room set up. Stiles placed the food on the table as I turned on the TV with the news playing.

"You're leaving tomorrow, right?" Stiles frowned, taking a bite from his pizza.

"Unfortunately, yeah." I grumbled out.  "I start school on Monday."

"I think I start the following week. They just wanted us to move into our apartments now to settle in and get to know where we will be meeting and stuff. Go over protocols and the boring stuff." Stiles told me.

"Well, that was smart. Have you talked to your dad yet?" I asked, chewing on my food.

"I did as I waited for the receptionist to finish with the guy in front of me." Stiles nodded. "Told me he's going to try and see me before I start the program."

"Yeah, he told me about that before we left-wait...what did the reporter say?" I looked at Stiles with wide eyes. He shrugged before going to the TV and turning up the volume.

"-Months before, the Avengers saved the world from a robot called Ultron with a town in Sokovia bracing the battle. The town was left in remains, many losing their lives or loved ones." The reporter stated. "Now, here is the newest disaster that the Avengers have left behind as they fight against crime in Uganda."

"Oh my gods." I gasped, seeing the footage of a building caught on fire.  Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, and Black Widow all flashed on the screen.

"I am still confused about how some of the actors of the movies are the exact same people on the screen right now while others look different." Stiles looked at me with his brows crunched together.

"So am I." I frowned, Chris. "Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner are the only ones who look the same as their character roles. The rest are all different."

"I know Chris is a demigod...is Jeremy one too?" Stiles questioned.

"I guess so...maybe the Avengers are really real and they just have movies, shows, and comics about them." I shrugged. "I'll have to ask Chris the next time I see him. It's all too confusing."

"I'm just shocked that we are barely seeing all of these news reports about the Avengers." Stiles took a sip of his Dr. Pepper.

"Same here. I know we saved Stark Industries from Stone and all, but...it's still hard to process." I admitted.

"And very confusing." Stiles added, staring at the newer footage of the building and the injured people.

Night had fallen and we had yet to do the bed. We decided to do the bed together, starting off with the bed sheet. I had finished doing my side of the bed while Stiles was struggling with his side.

"Just pull the corner of the sheet under the corner of the bed." I exasperated.

"I am!" Stiles huffed, tugging at the last corner of the bed sheet. The other three corners were already tucked under the bed. Curses flew out of Stiles mouth as he kneeled against the bed and pulled at the fabric again, trying to get it tucked under the bed. Groaning in frustration, he let go of the bed sheet. "My God! I what is wrong with this stupid thing?!"

"It's your bed sheet, how should I know?" I shrugged. Stiles turned to face me, his eyes twitching.  I grinned in response. "I love you."

"Mmhmm." Stiles hummed out, fighting a smile. Shaking his head, he tried again. Tugging at the fabric harder, he managed to place the bed sheet under the bed successfully. He jumped up in joy, pumping his fist in the air. "Yes! Beat that bed!"

"Stiles." I laughed out. He turned to face me with a full on grin, teeth showing.

"Don't kill my happiness, Nev. Let me be happy." Stiles wagged his finger at me, a smile still on his lips. "Even if it's about doing my bed."

"I won't." I chuckled out, holding my hands up in surrender. "Promise."

"Great." Stiles walked over to me, placing his hands on my hips. I beamed up at him, wrapping my arms around his neck. "I think I deserve a prize."

"What type of prize?" I perked an eyebrow.

"A kiss." Stiles goofily said. Giggling, I pecked his cheek. He frowned and looked down at me. "What the hell was that?"

"You wanted a kiss, so you got a kiss." I smirked.

"Yeah, but that wasn't the kiss I was asking for!" Stiles whined.

"Fine, okay. I'll give you your kiss." I rolled my eyes, a chortle escaping from me.

"Thank you." Stiles grinned. I pressed my lips against his cheek again. "Nev-"

I cut him off as I kissed him on his lips. Stiles let out a moan of surprise. He tightened his hold on me, bringing me flush against him. My fingers played with his hair as Stiles brought a hand up to cup my face. Stiles bit my lip, causing me to gasp. As the kiss started to get heated, we moved to the bed.

"I love you." Stiles breathed out, placing me on his lap. I straddled him, moving my hands to cup his face.

"I," I pecked his lips, "love you too. Very much."

"I don't want you to leave tomorrow." Stiles confessed, running his finger across my cheekbone.

"I don't want to leave either. Not now that I got you back." I muttered, looking up at him through my lashes. Tears started to pool in my eyes. "I almost lost you for good, and I...I don't want to go through that ever again."

"Hey," Stiles cupped my face, making sure that I looked him in the eye. "I'm not going to make any promises that something like that will never happen again, but I assure you that I will fight hell to get back to you. Okay?" I meekly nodded, a tear streaming down my face. Stiles frowned, wiping the tear away with his thumb. "C'mere."

I instantly curled into him, placing my head on his chest. Hugging him, I fisted his flannel. Stiles kissed my forehead head, wrapping his arms around me. I cherished the moment that we were having, knowing that I wasn't going to have something like this for a while.
