YOONGI IS MINE. JUST SAYING.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MINSUGA JJANG MAN BOONG BOONG
(Yoongi)
Their second date passed in a flurry of shy smiles and entwined hands.
Yoongi had taken the younger for ice cream in the middle of winter-because why not- and they had ended playing arcade games in an adults arcade like little kids.
They had beTted on who would win the basketball game and Dance Dance Revolution. Hoseok had said that if he lost in DDR he would take Yoongi on a special date and Yoongi had promised that if Yoongi lost in the basketball game then he would show Hoseok his studio.
All in all it was a win win situation.
In the end, Hoseok ended up loosing to Yoongi in DDR and yoongi ended up loosing to Hoseok in the basketball game, much to both parties surprise. Mourning over their losses and secretly happy about their penalties, they called it a day over two hotdog sandwiches since Hoseok and had to go pick up his dongsaeng and prepare for the new years eve party.
They kissed, a peck on the lips when they parted. But Yoongi wished it was more. He knew it was too early to even think about French kiss but he couldn't help but get addicted to the texture and flavor of Hoseok's lips and the hot chocolate warmth that accompanied it.
"Oppa!" A female voice called out, startling Yoongi out of his happy daydream on what Hoseok's supposed 'special date' would include.
Yoongi watched as Lisa came into his studio, looking tired and messy.
"I won't be able to come to the party you told me about oppa." Lisa began, "I have a party in my own house, I have to go fo-"
"Yeah. Okay." Yoongi cut her off understanding what she was trying to say.
She nodded before adjusting the heavy looking bag on her shoulder.
"Is Jungkook coming with you?" Lisa asked after a few beats of silence.
Yoongi nodded, restraining his urge to try not to ask on what was happening between the two of them. He knew that Jungkook had a crush on Lisa and he also knew that Lisa never thought of Jungkook that way.
Lately, things between them were tensed. Before, they used to come together and planned out time to spend together, just the three of them. But these days it was like they planned to avoid each other, always coming up and meeting with him during different times. Maybe they were just busy with their schedules and maybe he was reading too much into the situation. Whatever the case, he was sure they would sort it out on their own. After all they were best friends.
"Do you have money to go on your own?" Yoongi asked.
"Nah, but my Oppa is coming to pick me up." Lisa smiled brightly. She waved him goodbye, softly singing the song 'pick me' under her breath. Yoongi chuckled at her retreating back, loving her childish side.
As Lisa softly closed the door to Genius Lab, Yoongi texted for Jungkook to come over so that they could get going to Hoseok's house for the party.
Jungkook replied almost immediately that he was coming and Yoongi started winding up in his studio.
A few minutes later Jungkook was barging inside his studio, bunny smile and crowfeet eyes, all excited for the prospect of finally having new company for New Year's eve. Yoongi restrained his smile at Jungkook's excitement. The younger was too adorable for him to handle sometimes.
"Lisa is not coming?" The brown doey eyes darted around for the carefree female as he asked Yoongi the question.
"She said she had a family gathering to be at." Yoongi answered watching the younger carefully.
Jungkook frowned and nodded, staring at his worn out shoes his mood suddenly gloomy. The elder sighed at the sudden change in mood of the younger.
"Do you like Lisa?" Yoongi's voice was quiet and gentle in the harsh silence of the room.
"N-no-" Jungkook started, eyes wide with panic and Yoongi pinched the bridge of his nose in exasperation. Jungkook immediately went silent understanding that his keen hyung already knew the truth.
"I-I c-confessed." He admitted nervously and almost immediately Yoongi's heart sunk. He knew both of his dongsaengs enough to know that Lisa had rejected him.
"I'm so sorry Jungkook-ah." The words were out of the elder even before Jungkook could say that he was rejected.
The younger smiled a small smile contradicting the silver now lining his eyes.
"Its okay. I don't know if we would've worked out even if she had said yes." Jungkook said softly, voice cracking towards the end.
Yoongi silently opened his arms and Jungkook gladly fell into them, burying his head into the elders broad chest. Jungkook wasn't sobbing, he never did. He almost never showed his emotions and Yoongi worried the most about that. He bottled up his emotions too much. Yoongi was afraid that one day, all those emotions would burst and it would hurt more than just one person.
And the person most hurt then too, would be jungkook himself.
"Cry Kook. It okay to cry." Yoongi gently patted his head but Jungkook pulled away smiling his bunny toothed smile.
He never thought a smile could pain him so much.
"I'll party it out with you, so its okay." Jungkook smiled acting like nothing happened. Yoongi didn't deem a response, giving the younger space and time to think whatever he wanted as he finished winding up and grabbed his jacket.
"Lets go."
Jungkook nodded and followed the older outside. They slowly walked towards Hoseok's house in silence.
Yoongi was breathing in the refreshing cold air in contentment when Jungkook suddenly started asking him questions.
"This is your boyfriends party right?"
Yoongi nodded after some thought, technically he hadn't asked Hoseok yet, neither he had asked him. So they weren't official yet but Yoongi was hoping to change that today. He smiled unconsciously at the thought.
"You like him that much? So much that you're smiling like this?" Jungkook chuckled softly, happy for his hyung.
"Yeah."
"Does he know about everything?" Jungkook asked after a long pause.
Yoongi looked at the younger who looked almost blue skinned in the twilight light and shook his head.
"I'll tell him soon though." Surprise flashed through Jungkook's face before it was replaced with a bright smile and Yoongi chuckled at his reaction before realizing that they had reached Hoseok's house.
"We're here." Yoongi jerked his chin towards the ruined looking house, now covered with fairy lights and poorly hung streamers.
"Hyung why is there no booming music? I thought all teen parties had that." Jungkook pouted as the elder lead him towards the front door of the house.
"I never said this was a teen party." Yoongi winked before ringing the doorbell.
The door was suddenly opened by an unfamiliar yet extremely good looking man with a boxy smile.
A hot surge of jealousy punched through Yoongis gut as he watched Hoseok staring intensely at the handsome guy's back as if lost in thought. Then extreme confusion filled him suddenly as Jungkook inhaled sharply and mumbled out a disbelieving word. No, it was a name.
"Kim Taehyung?"
The man's warm yet piercing gaze was on the younger behind him, eyes roving over the younger's frame like a beast before its prey.
Then with a voice of midnight, one with deep timbre the handsome man chocked out an equally disbelieving reply.
"Jeon fucking Jungkook?"
