☆Seventeen☆
Evelyn-
Sunlight glared down on my face as my eyes slowly slid open. My neck felt stiff, like I had slept on it wrong, but when in the world had I fallen asleep?
Standing to my feet, I realized I was still I'm Niklaus' room, but from what I could tell, the hybrid was no where to be found. I turned to pull the covers up, in an attempt to somewhat make the bed, when a small leather bound book fell to the floor. Quickly recognizing it, I picked up the journal and turned to the last page.
February 14th, 2017
My Dearest Diary,
I must first confess-- I am an imposter and your hiding spot is no longer...
Blast, I thought. That damn bastard had actually read my diary.
But I couldn't stay mad at him. Not after everything we had been through. I was about to slam the journal shut, when a lone piece of paper fluttered to the floor. Quickly retrieving it, I sat down on the edge of the bed and smiled-- Niklaus' handwriting scrawled across it.
My Dearest Evelyn,
I humbly request your accompaniment, tonight at 7pm for a romantic roof top dinner in honor of St. Valentines Day.
With all my love,
-Nik
I had just finished reading the note, when Frey and Rebekah burst into the room.
"She's done it, dear sister," Rebekah squealed as she clapped her hands in delight. "I told you she would."
I scrunched up my face as I stood from the bed. "Done what? Exactly?" I inquired, rather confused.
"Figured out a way to lift your curse!" Rebekah exclaimed as though I should have known exactly what she meant.
I stared, mouth gaping open slightly at the words I had longed to hear for so many years.
"You can thank me later," Freya smiled. "But c'mon," she said gesturing for me to follow. "We don't have much time."
I hurriedly threw on some jeans and a tank, barely having enough time to slip some flats on to my feet before rushing out the door. I ran my fingers through my damp hair as we walked down the streets, hoping to make myself slightly more presentable, when we came to stand just before the steps of a church. As I gazed up at the towering steeple, an uneasy feeling suddenly came over me.
"Maybe-- maybe we shouldn't do this." I let out a shakey breath as both sisters turned to gape at me.
"I thought this was what you wanted?" Rebekah challenged.
"It is. But--"
"But what?"
"Perhaps, she is having doubts, because unlike you two, she knows this will be our brothers undoing."
My eyes narrowed to slits as I turned to glare at the elder Mikealson brother.
"Elijah, this is none of your business," I snapped.
"I have spent more time with you in the past forty seven years then I have my own sister." His jaw clenched angrily as he spoke. "What you are about to do, not only effects me, but the lives of my sisters and my brother's mate," he shot back. "This very much is my business."
"Oh relax, Elijah." Freya rolled her eyes, coming to my defense. "It's not what you think."
"Then am I to believe, you are not here to remove the spell that binds Evelyn's life to our brother's?"
There was an awkward silence as the four of us stood there. As long as Elijah was loyal to Niklaus, there was no way he would let Freya do the spell. I had to do something, and it needed to be quick. If the look in his eye was any indication, I knew he was about to take matters into his own hands.
"Elijah, listen to me," I said, calmly placing my hands against his chest. "I am nearly seventy years old," I began. "And I wish for nothing more, than to be a mother with child."
"Ok," Elijah replied, cocking his head thoughtfully to the side. "There's Hope--"
I shook my head, silencing him instantly.
"As long as I'm in this family, I will always love and cherish Hope," I said honestly. "But she's not my child," I explained. "Elijah," I begged, my eyes pleading as I gazed up at him. "Please, I want my own."
He hesitantly placed his hands on my shoulders, before cupping my chin with his hand.
"And then you promise to let Freya place you back under the spell?"
"I'll do you one better," I replied, flashing the biggest smile I could muster. "I'll finally let Niklaus turn me."

"I was beginning to worry you weren't going to show," Niklaus teased as he stood to pull out my chair. "You look ravishing, by the way."
His lips brushed against the crook of my neck, causing me to shiver.
"That's odd," he commented as he easily pushed my seat in before settling down across from me. "Shouldn't you be healed by now?"
I quickly pulled some hair forward as I tried to cover the large bruise on my neck.
"Maybe the magic reacts differently to your werewolf mark," I lied, shrugging my shoulders in an effort to brush aside the topic. "It doesn't even hurt," I lied again.
"Evelyn--"
"I said, everything's fine," I replied sternly, quickly looking down at the table as I blushed. I didn't want this lovely evening that Niklaus had planned to be ruined.
"So why don't you tell me what we have here?" I suggested with a more friendly smile.
Niklaus eyed me warily before returning the smile. Thankfully, he seemed willing to let it go-- for now.
"Well, I think you'll find a feast, fit for a King and his Queen."
Niklaus gestured broadly as he swept away the silver domes keeping each of the plates warm. His blue eyes twinkled as I gasped in excitement.
"Some of New Orleans finest, is on this table," Klaus remarked. "Oysters Rockafeller, Red Beans and Rice, the best Muffaletta this side of the Mason Dixon, and to top it all off-- a few beignets and a cup of burnt coffee."
"Klaus--" I breathed as I took in the spread.
"Only the best for my best girl," he smirked.
"Best?" I narrowed my eyes playfully as I mumbled about my mouth full of food. "You better mean only," I scolded, pointing a finger in his direction.
Niklaus chuckled before pouring me a glass of wine.
"Nobody could ever replace you," he assured as he handed me the glass. "But thankfully, I don't have to worry about that."
I pushed back from the table suddenly, my stomach churning with guilt. In an instant Niklaus stood by my side.
"Everything all right, Love?" he asked placing an arm around me.
"I--"
"Evelyn, you're freezing!" he exclaimed as he tried to pull me into his warm embrace.
But I wouldn't allow it, and quickly turned away from his intense gaze as I knew our perfect night was about to be ruined.
"Evie, what's wrong?"
"I had Freya remove your binding spell from me," I blurted out. "I'm finally human again."
The metal back rest of my chair made a shrieking noise as it crushed under Niklaus' grasp. His left eye twitched wildly and anger rolled off of him in waves. This could not be good.
"You did what?" he growled between clenched teeth as he glared down at me. "Have you any idea how stupid that was?"
He stalked forward, taking hold of the upper part of my arms in his hands. "Why would you do such a thing? Why?"
"Niklaus, please!" I screamed as I writhed under his grasp. "I did it so I could become like you!"
His expression softened as he looked down at me. "Like me?" he asked, his hands untightening from my arms. "You mean, you've finally agreed to let me change you?"
I nodded my head sheepishly as he grinned.
"So your not planning on leaving me again?"
"No, silly!" I shook my head. "But you have to promise that you will be the one to change me, and only after I've become with child."
"You mean--" The words caught in his throat as he placed a hand on my stomach. "You want to have my child?"
"Of course," I laughed, placing both of my hands over his. "Who else could I possibly want?"
Klaus gave me an all knowing look, and I knew immediately who he was referring to. But I was no longer in love with him. In fact, ever since the day he had let me walk out of his life, I had been quite over the Cullen boy.
Klaus regarded me for some time before finally huffing in response.
"Fine," he sighed. "But you will not leave my side."
"Deal," I promised, nearly bouncing up and down in excitement.
"I mean it, Evelyn. I have a lot of enemies out there," he warned. "You will not even be permitted a moment out of my sight."
I leaned up to press a kiss against his cheek.
"Wouldn't dream of it," I murmured.
