My Dearest Diary,

I just want this to all be over. My life, my story-- it's like a never-ending nightmare that I can't seem to wake up from. My new friends are willing to put their life on the line for me, but I wonder if that will still be the case once they find out the truth...

"Emmett," I said his name almost breathlessly as he continued to kiss along my neck. "There's something I need to tell you."

"Whatever it is, I'm sure it can wait," he mumbled as his hands ran down my sides, cupping my naked rump. "Right now, I have to show you that I'm better than a sex toy."

I bit down on my lower lip as I currently sat straddling his lap. Fisting his shirt I ripped it open, letting the buttons pop and fly everywhere. I let my eyes roam over his bulky body, feasting them on his well developed chest and abs.

His large hands gripped my waist as he forcefully thrust my pelvis into his enormous bulge. As he looked up at me lustfully, I decided there was always tomorrow to tell him my secret.

Got a feeling that I'm going under. But I know that I'll make it out alive. If I quit calling you my lover--You watch me bleed until I can't breathe. Shaking, falling onto my knees. And now that I'm without your kisses, I'll be needing stitches--

I groaned as I rolled over searching for my phone in the bed sheets. I really needed to change that ringtone. As my hand finally grasped the small cell, I cleared my throat before answering.

"Hello?" My voice was hoarse when I spoke and it sounded like I hadn't slept in days.

"You'll have to forgive me, sister. I forgot about the time difference."

My eyes shot open as I mentally face palmed myself for not looking at the caller id before answering.

"Now is not a good time, Elijah," I mumbled.

"I thought I had made myself clear." His tone was deathly serious, and even though he sounded calm, I knew he was upset. "I gave Niklaus my word, that I would bring you home," he informed me. "And I never break a promise."

"Well, maybe you shouldn't make promises you can't keep, Elijah" I replied. "And how did you get this number, anyways?" I challenged. "You know what, nevermind," I continued before he could reply. "You know where I'm at. Klaus knows where I'm at-- if he wants me back so bad, tell him he come get me himself!"

I jammed the red 'end call' button with my thumb, not even bothering to wait for a response. With the Volturi coming, I had enough to worry about. And I certainly didn't have time for this-- whatever 'this' was. As far as I was concerned, Klaus had his chance. Why now, after five years, does he suddenly care about winning me back?

I drug myself out of bed knowing there was no way I would fall back asleep now, and padded my way over to the shower. Why couldn't Elijah just leave me alone? Why couldn't they just let me live out the rest of my eternity in peace, I wondered.

"Is everything alright?" A deep voice suddenly called out.

I knew the voice belonged to Emmett but it still scared the hell out of me. I let out a tiny shriek as I spun around on the wet tile.

"Holy shit," I cried out as I landed in Emmett's muscular arms instead of my arse. "Thanks," I muttered.

"I didn't mean to scare you," he apologized. "I just got back from a hunt and expected to see you still in bed."

"And I still would be, if my brother hadn't called," I explained.

"At four in the morning?" he challenged, his voice sounding slightly skeptical.

"Yeah, he forgot about the time difference," I replied. "And since none of you sleep, I figured I'd get ready and come find you," I smiled.

"Well I guess I'll let you get back to your shower then," Emmett smirked as he set me back down in the shower.

I gave him a dirty look as I noticed he was starting to strip his clothes off.

"And what do you think you're doing, Mister?"

"I thought you might like some company," he smirked. "It can get lonely out here in the woods all by yourself," he said. "And you never know when you might need your big, strong, boyfriend to save you from some wild animals or something."

I shook my head, grinning at how ridiculous he could be sometimes before grabbing him by the arm.

"Get in here," I said, dragging him into the shower and jumping into his arms.

"Evie," Carlisle began as he laid a gentle hand on my shoulder. "I've called everyone here, because some of our friends here, have a few questions about you," he said.

I gulped nervously as I eyed the crowd of vampires that were gathered around me.

"Most of them have agreed to fight along side us," Edward informed me. "But I think it might put all of our minds at ease if you told us your story," he urged.

I nodded my head letting my fingers run through my hair before taking a deep shakey breath.

"I've met vampires before," I began. "But I guess they're more traditional in a sense-- super strong, super fast and the sun light burns them. They can be killed by a wooden stake through the heart," I tapped on my chest. "Except for the original family," I paused. "And that's where my story begins."

"I was born on the eight of September, in 1948 just outside the city of Chicago."

An eerie hush fell over the room as realization of my words sunk in. I looked over at Emmett and immediately was overwhelmed with a sense of guilt.

"My parents died shortly after my thirteenth birthday and I had nobody left once they were gone. For nearly seven years, I wandered the streets alone. For seven years, I felt unloved and unwanted.

"Right around the time I turned twenty-one, I met a man and thought I had fallen in love." I tried to keep this part short as the anger and hurt was evident on Emmett's face. "That man eventually told me he was a vampire, and was well aware I had no intentions of ever becoming like him. But he was selfish and had a witch place a curse on me. As long as he lives, I live. I have died eleven times now, and every time I hope that this might be my last, I come back to life."

"How do we know you are telling us the truth?" Amun suddenly snapped.

"She is," Maggie said as she stepped forward. "Every word."

I gratefully nodded my head at her. Emmett had told me that she could tell when someone was telling the truth or not.

"If you wanted to die so bad, why didn't you just run a stake through his heart?" Jacob asked.

"Because there's a catch," I replied. "The original's can not be killed."

Suddenly Alice slumped into Jasper's arms. "They're here," she announced as one of her visions consumed her. "The Volturi have come for us."

Edward turned towards the window, as if listening to something or rather, someone. "Aro knows we're all here and he intends to slaughter us all," he informed us. "He's believes that if he wipes out our covens-- Alice, Benjamin, Bella and I will join the guard."

"It's time to rid ourselves of the Italian scum once and for all," Stefan scoffed.

"You should have listened to us ten years ago," Vladimir agreed. "I hope this time you're ready for a fight."

"We're ready," Emmett replied, his face still distorted in anger. As I watched him slam his fist into his other hand, I wondered who it was he really wanted to fight. I felt terrible, as I watched him stalk towards me, avoiding any eye contact with me at all costs. This was not how I had wanted him to find out.

As everyone began heading outside, Emmett roughly gripped my arm, dragging me along with him.

"Emmett, please. Stop," I whimpered. "You're hurting me," I winced as he tightened his grip on my arm.

"Just tell me one thing," he snarled, facing me towards him, my arm still caught in his grasp. "Why shouldn't we just hand you over to the Volturi in hopes that they'll leave us alone?" he asked.

"I-- I don't know," I sobbed, as big fat tears rolled down my cheeks.

"Why are you here?" he yelled.

"I-- I don't know!" I cried again. Why was he doing this to me? Why was he saying these things?

"Do you even love me?" he asked as he angrily shook me by my arms.

"Emmett, please," I pleaded as I writhed with pain.

Suddenly Jasper appeared next to me and I let out a sigh of relief. As Jasper's eyes focused on his brother, I could feel Emmett's grip loosen on my arm. I assumed Jasper must have been altering his mood and the second Emmett released me, I ran for the door. But as I stepped out into the Arctic air outside, I wondered which was the lesser of two evils.

The angry vampire back inside, or the blood thirsty horde gathered around us...
