Chapter 2 (Code: Rescue) part 1
Sorry that this is so late!
Previously on Torn (which needs a name update, because it kind of sucks), a strange being called RaSaKun meddled in the affairs of the Code:breakers. RaSaKun has threatened Toki and Sakura, taken Rei Ogami, sent minions to gather more support all around the country, including a young street kid right from in front of Yuuki, all in the course of one night. With this force up against the Code:breakers, and set to take Sakura Sakurakouji, how can they possibly hope to stop him? Find out, on Digimo- *coughs* I mean Torn! A Code: Breaker fanfic!
Sakura yawns and stretches, her hand bumping the wall as she fights off a bone-deep weariness. Man, yesterday was so wearying. She blinks her eyes open and stands, getting dressed, selecting a nice blouse and a short skirt. Once she's finished, she heads down for breakfast.
"Honey," Yuki Sakurakouji says, brightly, "Are you going somewhere special today?"
"W-What makes you think that?" Sakura asks, blushing.
"You almost never wear that blouse, dear," Yuki explains. She smiles her usual bright smile. Yuki is wearing a school girl's outfit, and with her bright brown eyes, youthful grin, and wavy light brown hair that goes to her chest, she looks old enough to be Sakura's daughter, not the other way around.
Sakura, on the other hand, has dark purple hair and dark pink eyes. The two don't look related, and that's because they aren't. Sakura is the adopted daughter of Yuki and Goutoku Sakurakouji. Goutoku Sakurakouji's hair is long, unruly, and black and he has black eyes, not that he's in the room, and he looks like he might actually be Sakura's dad.
I love my parents, Sakura sighs, but sometimes they are too perceptive! "Ogami's coming back to town," Sakura says truthfully but evasively, "So I'm planning on meeting him when he arrives." With Toki. She hoped that he didn't think she was dressing up for him!
"Sakura, I don't know about that boy. He seems ... a little too dark for you. Your father and I don't trust him." Yuki tells her conservatively.
"It's not like that!" Sakura complains, "Trust me, I know exactly how untrustworthy Rei Ogami is!"
Yuki chuckles. Her scrambled eggs burst with flavor on her tongue, heightening her amusement of her daughter's words. She double-named him! They'd make such a cute couple. But only if this Ogami treats her right, because if he doesn't ...
... He's one dead cookie.
A knock on the door. Yuki gets up from her eggs to answer it. "Yes?"
"Hey, Mrs. Sakurakouji!" Toki Fujiwara responds. His blonde hair frames his face, adding symmetry to his face that was lost due to his mismatched eyes. Oddly, the combination makes him look even better for it. His easy-going, lopsided grin helps finish his look. Instead of his usual green school uniform, he's wearing khakis and flip-flops and a long-sleeved shirt, perfect for the deteriorating-into-fall weather. "Sakura said she wanted to come with me to meet with Ogami, so I'm here to pick her up. I expected her to be out about an hour ago."
"What time did you expect her to be up?" Yuki asks severely. She frowns, her curly brown hair falling into her face as she tilts it in confusion. This friend of hers looks familiar. Oh, he looks like that kid friend of Sakura. Maybe he's his older brother. He's more handsome than Ogami, so I'm not sure why she doesn't like him better.
"Well," Toki responds, "I thought she'd be up at eight and ready to go at ten. He should be here by now."
"What do you mean? It is eight."
Toki holds up his smartphone, revealing that the time was eleven, rather than eight.
"That's strange," Yuki says, checking her own phone. This one says the time is eight. "But both phones update automatically. They can't be wrong."
Toki scowls, and quickly sends a text to Ogami and Yuuki explaining the problem. "Mrs. Sakurakouji, you need to let me inside. I think Sakura is in danger.
By the way, when I get one hundred views on this, I'm thinking of doing a character special, so start thinking about which characters you want to know more about! You know, assuming anybody's reading this. It is my least popular story, going by votes and my third least popular going by views.
