Chapter Twelve
"This way!" Brooklyn and Devon led us through the woods.
"Hey, Brook?" I asked, using the nickname she allowed me to use.
"Yeah?"
"How come you... Y'know betrayed your Home World (PERIDOT?! WHERE ARE YOU, YOU CLOD?!)?" I asked her. She visibly flinched and looked down sadly. "You don't have to tell m-"
"No, no. It's fine, I want to tell you, anyway. The reason is because, about eighteen years ago, a woman named Sanctum was in love with the king - Maiestas. Maiestas was a nice person back then, until he was declared king, he then began beating and using Sanctum as an outlet, as well as a toy. She eventually couldn't take it anymore and killed herself in front of him. Since then, Maiestas has been dead-set in finding her reincarnation and making her fall in love with him," I didn't know why, but the story made me feel odd; familiar, somehow.
"How does that affect you, though?"
"The three of us were all very good friends," Devon explained, his hair shadowing his eyes (somehow).
"Oh. Sorry for asking," I apologized, looking at the ground and thinking about why the story seemed so familiar to me.
We carried on walking in silence, it was awkward, but it wasn't comfortable either. It was just... There. I couldn't stop thinking about the story and it annoyed me greatly. When PJ took my hand in his, though, it calmed me down a little.
"Don't worry. It'll be fine. We'll escape and I'll keep you safe, I promise," He kissed my head and smiled at me, making me relax. I nodded and smiled back.
"Thanks,"
"Don't mention it,"
After about thirty more minutes, we made it to a very nice cottage that was surrounded by trees and flowers that, surprisingly enough, weren't all dead. The walls of the cottage were white with square windows and a long flower pot that was home to different flowers.
It was beautiful, yet... Familiar. I stared at it, in a daze as I saw a scene flash across my mind.
~Flashback~
A girl with rainbow sits on the edge of the water, watching as the moonlight glimmered and danced across the beautiful lake.
"What are you doing out so late?" A male voice asked. The rainbow-haired female turns around with a bright smile on her face.
"Couldn't sleep," She answered, grinning when the male kissed her gently on the lips.
"Me neither. Let's enjoy the view for now, okay?" The male wrapped his hands around the girl's waist and kissed her cheek.
"Sounds good," She leaned her head against his shoulder and smiled.
~End Of Flashback~
I stared up at the lake in wonder and curiosity. "What was...?"
"(N/n)! You coming?" Natasha called out, then grinned. "I'll get the better room!"
"Hey! No fair!" I shouted and ran in behind her. Everything here looked familiar. Also, there were (somehow) quite a few twists and turns, but I knee my way around the house, somehow. I didn't understand how, or why, but I brushed it off. I went past a doorway, but there seemed to be some kind of... Calling that made me want to go in. It was like I was in a trance. I lay my hand on the doorknob, hesitating to open it. When I did, the room was beautiful. It had a queen-sized bed that looked very comfortable. There was a dark oak dresser that had drawers filled with clothing and one that was locked. I ignored it, but there was a lingering feeling inside of me. I looked up and saw that there was a white curtain that opened to reveal glass doors that led to the back garden. The back garden had a porch swing and (surprise, surprise!) more flowers. I sat down on it and swung for a little, feeling a content feeling of familiarity.
I stood up and went inside, then peeked my head round the doorway of the room.
"I claim this one!" I shouted down the hall. Natasha rounded the corner, stopping in front of me.
"Aww, man! Guess I gotta keep looking for a good room!" She ran off and I walked down the hallway, and into the living room.
"I don't know how you know your way around here, but I'm guessing you found a good room?" PJ asked. I blushed and scratched the back of my neck.
"I don't know, either. I found a really beautiful room! C'mon!" I grabbed my boyfriend's hands and led him down the hall, towards the room I found. When I revealed the room, I saw Devon and Brooklyn widen their eyes slightly. I didn't comment, even though I was confused.
"This room is beautiful!" PJ commented happily and laying down on the bed. He let out a satisfied groan. "This bed is so soft!" He groaned, stretching himself out.
"Ookkkaaaayyy, we're gonna leave, now," Layla said, smirking slightly. "Make sure to keep it down!" She cackled and everybody left. I was blushing a lot and PJ was laughing at the sight of me.
"Pfft. You're so colourful!" He got up and kissed my cheek, a small yellow tint to his cheeks.
"By the way, where's Leoni?" I asked, then looked at the glass doors, where I saw Leoni on the swing with a white, ghostly wolf next to her. "Nevermind," I smiled.
I then walked towards the doors and opened them.
"Leoni? Want to come in?" I asked and received a nod from the five year old and the disappearance of the wolf. She ranninside and we all lay in the bed, Leoninin the middle of us all. I hugged Leoni to me and she fell asleep immediately. PJ, however, rested his hand on my waist and kissed us both on the head.
"I love you both," He muttered. I then heard Leoni mumble something in her sleep.
"I love you.. Mommy, Daddy," We kissed her on the head again and smiled at her with love.
"We love you too," PJ and I said simultaneously and closed our eyes, falling asleep.
~In the Living Room~
"This isn't good!" Devon muttered, alarmed at their situation.
"I know! Why is she getting her memories back?! She shouldn't be, should she?" Brooklyn panicked, shaking her boyfriend roughly.
"Brook! Calm down! Panicking won't help!" Brooklyn took deep breaths and nodded into Devon's chest.
"Devon?" She asked quietly.
"Yes?" The male Blood Demon asked, stroking the female Demon's hair.
"Will we have to leave this house?" Brooklyn asked sadly. She had held lots of memories in this house. There was about a minute since before Devon answered again.
"I don't know..."
