Chapter 65

Just thought I'd share this lovely photo with everyone.

A few months had passed, meaning Kushina was further along her pregnancy. We have an extra bedroom in the house and we've been turning it into a nursery. We were picking gender neutral colors since we didn't know the gender yet.

We picked out orange and teal.

Right now, I was peacefully sleeping for once. I didn't cry myself to sleep this time and I was actually having a good dream.

Kushina suddenly burst in my room, scaring me half to death and I immediately woke up.

"What's going on?" I ask sleepily.

"Hana, don't you know what day it is?" She asked, smiling.

I was way too sleepy to comprehend anything right now.

"Today we get to find out the gender of this baby!" She exclaimed.

Minato walked in my room and sighed. "I told her to wait till you woke up,"

I snapped out of my daze and grinned. This had me excited.

"She's up now," Kushina shrugged.

"When do we go find the gender out?" I asked, not minding that she woke me up now.

"Her appointment is at 12:00 pm, so we're going to eat breakfast now," Minato replied. "And as a celebration, I'll be making breakfast for you two,"

I actually never had Minato's cooking before and I was curious if he was a good cook or not.

Kushina walked out to go get showered and Minato left to cook us breakfast.

I quickly changed out of my pajamas and got my regular clothes on. It was just a blue cat shirt and black pants.

I went to the bathroom so I could brush my hair and wash up. From here, I could smell Minato's cooking and it smelled good so far.

"Food's ready!" Minato called.

Kushina and I both walked over, seeing he made homemade ramen with pork.

My mouth watered and Kushina's stomach growled loudly.

Her cheeks dusted pink and Minato just smirked at her. He set down our plates and then joined us at the table.

"I was actually craving ramen almost the entire pregnancy," Kushina said sheepishly.

"The baby must really love ramen then," I chuckle.

I immediately started wolfing my food down.

Surprisingly, Minato was a pretty good cook. I was glad to be living with two people who know how to cook.

"So, any guesses about the gender?" Kushina asked.

"I think it's going to be a girl," I said.

"I'm going to guess a boy," Minato added.

"What do you think?" I asked her.

"Hmm," She looked thoughtful. "I have this feeling that it's a boy. It's kind of a mother's instinct,"

We looked at the time and saw it was 11:30. It was now time go to find out the gender.

The three of us were pretty excited and on the way over, Minato wanted to carry Kushina since she was waddling and she insisted on walking and said she isn't helpless.

She rubbed her belly with a smile and got to the hospital within ten minutes.

"Good afternoon Lord Hokage," A receptionist greeted with a blush on her face.

Kushina rose an eyebrow at her and I looked at the two, slightly nervous.

"Hello," He greeted back.

Kushina quickly got in front of him. "My husband and I have an appointment for an ultrasound,"

The receptionist nodded and got her checked in. I could tell Kushina was being passive aggressive with her.

Kushina entwined her hands with Minato's and we sat down in the waiting room.

"What was that about, Kushina?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing," She replied with a bit of ice in her voice.

I chuckled, knowing full well what was wrong. Minato just looked a little confused, but he didn't question any further.

"Kushina Uzumaki?" A nurse called.

The three of us stood up and walked over.

The nurse asked Kushina a few questions and escorted the three of us to a darkened room.

Kushina lied on the bed and lifted her shirt up so the nurse could spread the gel on her belly. I was anxious the whole time because I wanted to know what the gender was already.

Minato looked at the screen with a smile on his face and Kushina got a bit teary-eyed seeing the baby on the screen.

"Would you like to know the gender now?" The nurse asked.

Kushina nodded.

"It's a boy,"

We all had the biggest grins on our faces. Kushina's eyes watered and she smiled, "I knew he was a boy. I had this feeling,"

"I wonder if he'll have red or blonde hair," I said, trying to imagine what he'll look like.

"Congratulations," The nurse said and printed out the pictures.

After the ultrasound, the nurse ran a few check-ups to make sure Kushina and the baby were both healthy. Everything was fine and the appointment was done. Minato quickly went to find Jiraiya and came back within ten minutes. Even though he is the Yellow Flash, his speed will always amaze me.

"Jiraiya will be coming over tonight now, I told him the news," Minato said as we walked home.

"What time is he coming?" Kushina asked.

"Seven," Minato replied.

I haven't seen Jiraiya in months. The last time I saw him was when Kushina first announced she was pregnant. He's also slacking on making a new book for the Makeout series.

We entered the house and Kushina went to her room to get changed into something more comfortable. I wondered if Jiraiya was just as excited as we were, since he was going to be the baby's godfather.

I went to my room to get grab some clothes and took a quick shower before Jiraiya came by.

After a few hours had passed, there was a knock at the door and I got up off the couch to answer.

I opened the door and felt my hair being ruffled.

"You've grown some more, squirt!"

He bent down slightly. "But you're still short,"

"I'm 5'4!"

He chuckled as I gave him a playful glare.

I invited him inside and Kushina greeted him. She already had tea ready in the living room and she was sitting down on the couch. Minato was sitting next to her and I took the seat next to Jiraiya.

"So, what's the baby's gender?" Jiraiya asked.

"We're having a boy," Kushina smiled. "I had a feeling that he was going to be a boy,"

Jiraiya looked excited. "Any name ideas?"

"I've had a few names in mind, but I'm not happy with them," Kushina replied.

"I have an idea," Jiraiya said. "I wrote this book years ago called 'The Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi' and it was my first book,"

"I read that book and I actually really liked it. Isn't the hero's name Naruto?" Minato asked.

Jiraiya nodded. "It is and that book didn't sell very well, but the story is about a hero named Naruto who wants to break the curse of war and hate. It's dedicated to a boy I met years ago,"

"I'm surprised you didn't write something pervy," I snorted.

Jiraiya shook his head and muttered quiet enough for me to hear. "As if you don't read those 'pervy' novels,"

Minato heard this and just sweat-dropped.

I smirked and he continued. "Anyway, I was thinking if you guys don't have an idea for a name, you can name your son Naruto just like the hero in the story,"

The three of us liked this idea.

Minato and Kushina exchanged a glance and nodded.

"So it's settled then. Our son will be named Naruto and I hope he'll grow up to be like the hero in the book too," Minato smiled.

Jiraiya took a sip of his tea and shifted on the couch. "I think I should have a bit of recognition for the name idea,"

He was half-joking.

"Of course Jiraiya-Sensei," Minato nodded. "You'll be Naruto's godfather,"

I was a bit excited for Naruto to be able to meet Jiraiya and I chuckled at the thought of Naruto having to deal with Jiraiya's pervy antics.

We all caught up some more and had a few laughs. Eventually Jiraiya had to leave so he could get some 'research' done and Minato just grimaced again when he said that.

"More like spying on women at the hot springs," I muttered.

Jiraiya heard me, "This research happens to be important for the sequel of the Make Out series."

My ears perked up. "You're finally going to continue?"

Jiraiya nodded.

"It better be good then, considering the wait for the sequel is taking a while." I smirk.

We said our goodbyes to him and I went to bed, wondering what it'll be like having Naruto live here.
