Chapter 57
Since this story is ending soon, the chapters are going to be longer. I'm trying to get them at least 2000-3000 words.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was being woken up by Minato, who was trying to gently shake me awake. "F..Five more minutes,"
I sleepily turned over and pulled the blanket over me.
"Hana, you have to get that Eight-Tails out of you today," Minato sighed.
I pulled the blanket over my face. "Obito is here."
Now that woke me up instantly. I shot up awake and fixed my hair. "He is?"
Minato smirked and then started laughing. "No, I just couldn't wake you up."
I shook my head and ushered him out of my room so I could get dressed. Minato was laughing at how I reacted and I quickly got dressed and went to the bathroom to continue getting ready. After I was done, I walked out and I saw a new picture that was hung up on the living room wall.
A smile spread on my face. It was the picture of Minato, Kushina, and I at the Valley of End. I wondered what they did with the other pictures, but I didn't ask.
I walked to the kitchen and started making instant ramen and poured me a glass of milk. I knew how to cook other things of course, but this was just quicker.
"Hana, that's not a proper meal," Kushina sighed.
"But I need to hurry so I'm not late when Jiraiya comes," I replied.
I grabbed my instant ramen and my milk, then walked over to the table. I could smell Kushina cooking some eggs and hashbrowns from here and my mouth started watering at the thought of it.
"You should invite Obito over more often," Minato said.
"If I get back in time, I will," I said and finished my instant ramen.
Kushina put a plate of eggs and hashbrowns in front of me and gave me a look. "You're eating this,"
"No, it's okay. I'm not-"
She gave me "the look" and I sweated nervously. "Thank you Aunt Kushina I'll eat it!"
She sat down and Minato laughed quietly. He still looked really stressed out, but I don't understand what it could be.
There was a knock at the door and Minato stood up to go answer it. I saw Jiraiya, who shivered slightly from the cold weather in the mornings and he sat down next to me.
"Are you almost ready?"
"Just let me finish my eggs and I'll be ready,"
I finished my breakfast and rushed to the kitchen to put the dishes in the sink. I walked back out and Kushina stopped us before we left.
"Wait," she said. "Let's take a picture, us four,"
Jiraiya looked confused. "Why?"
"Let's just take it," Kushina insisted and grabbed the camera.
"Uh, okay then," Jiraiya said and Minato walked over to pose with us.
She set up the camera and then rushed back over here. We took about three pictures. The first one was a normal one, the second one was when I was on Jiraiya's back, and the third one was more of a silly picture.
Kushina looked through the photos and gave a thumbs up. "Okay. That's all!"
"Be careful out there." Minato said as Jiraiya and I left the house.
We started walking over to Mount Myoboku and Obito saw us.
"Hana!" He said and rushed over. "I was going to ask if you wanted to go to Ichiraku with me,"
"I would, but I can't right now," I replied. "Perverted-Sensei needs to take me somewhere,"
Jiraiya narrowed his eyes at me. "Didn't I tell you NOT to call me that?!"
He huffed and I giggled.
"This is Perverted-Sensei? I thought he would be more creepy looking," Obito said.
I started snickering at how Jiraiya put his fingers on his temple.
"Oh trust me, you'd-"
Jiraiya put a hand over my mouth quickly and got close to my ear. "If you keep quiet, I'll buy you as much ramen as you want,"
"As much as I want?!" I exclaimed, but because he had his hand over my mouth it came out as "mmph mmph".
Obito sweat-dropped. "Anyway, where are you guys going?"
"I just need to train her on the rasengan again," Jiraiya covered. "She's getting a bit rusty on the technique so I'm going to take her to train for a little bit. It'll take a few hours, but we'll be back at noon,"
"Oh, okay," Obito nodded. "See you then,"
He left without doing anything and I could tell he was going to be shy with PDA.
"Where exactly is Mount Myoboku?" I asked Jiraiya.
"It's in a secret and special location," Jiraiya replied. "It can take a month to get there, but because I'm able to get there quicker, it'll only be a few hours for us,"
"Do you have the stuff to get rid of the Eight-Tails?" I ask.
"Yes," he nodded. "I wanted to ask you a few things about it though,"
"What?"
"Have you ever lost control over it?"
"Only once, but I managed to snap back into reality," I replied. "Sometimes it fuels itself off of my anger and any negative feelings I have, so that makes it a little hard to control it when it does that,"
"I see,"
Jiraiya and I made some small talk while going to Mount Myoboku.
"So, when is that book being published?"
"Soon,"
"Can you get it for my birthday?"
Jiraiya hesitated for a second. "Uh, maybe when you're 18."
"Perverted-Sensei, you told me you would uphold our deal!" I shouted. "Don't tell me I found a woman all for nothing!"
"Remember," Jiraiya said. "She did punch me, so technically we have no deal,"
"Yes, we do," I retort.
Jiraiya stopped walking and I looked at him with confusion. We both looked up, seeing an entrance that looked like a cave with some toad statues.
"Is this it?"
"Yup,"
We walked in and I saw a giant toad with a pipe in its mouth. Was I looking correctly? I wiped my eyes and looked again. Yup, I am definitely not hallucinating.
Jiraiya noticed how surprised I was. "This is my summoning animal, Gamabunta,"
The large toad looked at me. "Who is this?"
"This is my student's niece, Hana,"
"This is a short notice about teaching sage mode," Gamabunta replied irritated. "You could've at least given us a months notice,"
"Um," I started. "I'm not going to learn sage mode,"
"Hm? Then why are you here?" Gamabunta asked.
"She insists that she isn't the Child of Prophecy, but I told her I'd bring her here in case she changes her mind about sage mode," Jiraiya explained. "Also, we have a special task that we needed to do here,"
Jiraiya explained to Gamabunta about the Eight-Tails. I explained what Nozomi told me after Jiraiya was done and how this chemical version of the Eight-Tails is a lot more dark than the real Tailed Beast. He was surprised to hear this since he didn't understand who would make a fake version of the Eight-Tails.
"There is one person in mind," Jiraiya said thoughtfully.
"Who?"
He didn't reply and just handed a vial to me. This vial held pale-purple liquid inside of it. I observed it before ingesting it since I was a bit worried that this would end badly. I trusted Jiraiya's judgment, so I downed it like a shot.
It tasted really gross and I almost threw up from how gross it was. It was extremely bitter.
"That was disgusting," I said and handed the empty vial to Jiraiya.
"Do you feel any different?" He asked.
"No,"
I spoke too soon. I could feel a pull inside of me as if the chakra was starting to separate from my own. It was a weird feeling and I had to sit down because I felt a little light-headed.
"Are you alright, Hana?" Jiraiya asked.
"I-I think it's getting rid of the Eight-Tails already," I replied.
I could feel the fake version of the Eight-Tails starting to get angry and it was trying to resist whatever the lavender liquid was doing. It was almost as if it was calling me a traitor for getting rid of it and then tried to beg for me to undo this.
Suddenly, the chakra just vanished.
"I think it's gone," I said.
"That's good,"
I felt a nauseating feeling in my stomach. "I need a bucket!"
Gamabunta quickly leaped away and came back with a bucket. Jiraiya handed it over to me and I hurled inside of it.
I finished and I looked down, seeing a blue liquid. That was probably the chemical from the Eight-Tails.
"Are you alright?" Jiraiya asked again.
"Yeah, I think so," I replied and wiped my mouth.
I really needed water to get the taste of throw up out of my mouth.
"That was gross," Gamabunta said.
"So what do we do with the chemical now?" I asked looking towards the bucket.
"We just need to dilute it with water and then get rid of it," Jiraiya said and picked the bucket up, but he looked grossed out while doing so.
He walked away and now it was just me and the giant toad.
"So why don't you think you're the Child of Prophecy?" He asked.
"I just have this feeling that it's meant for someone else. I turned down sage mode because I figured Jiraiya-Sensei shouldn't waste his time teaching it on someone who's not the Child of Prophecy," I answered.
Gamabunta didn't reply.
"So that way he can spend more time teaching the person who is part of the prophecy," I finished.
"Interesting," Gamabunta nodded.
Jiraiya came back and a female toad was following him. "You should stay for dinner!"
Jiraiya made a face. "I...No thank you, I ate a big breakfast this morning,"
"Come on, I insist!" She pushed.
"I just remembered, Hana is going to be late for her date with her boyfriend. I gotta take her back, so see you!" Jiraiya grabbed on my wrist and started pulling me with him.
We left and I looked at him confused. "Why did you leave so quick like that?"
"I don't think you want to eat what they'd give you, Hana," Jiraiya replied.
"But-"
"Just trust me,"
"Alright," I nodded. "And I can't believe I just spoke to a large toad,"
"Just wait till you see Tsunade's summon," Jiraiya chuckled at my disbelief. "She has a large slug,"
"Wait are you serious?" I ask.
"Yeah, where do you think the name Slug Queen came from?" He said and we continued walking to the village. "Anyway, what's the relationship between you and Obito?"
I blushed. "We're uh...together..."
"That's pretty ironic," Jiraiya said. "Before the Uzumaki turned into the Senju, the Senju and Uchiha clan were at war with each other,"
I didn't reply and Jiraiya decided to tease me even more. "Maybe when you two are older, my new series will help you,"
He nudged me and my face turned even redder.
"Y-You Perverted Sensei!" I look away.
"Stop calling me that!" Jiraiya changed the subject quickly.
"Never," I smirked.
"Well, now we're at the village," Jiraiya said. "You can go eat ramen with Obito, but I suggest you get a mint or something before you try anything with him,"
I remembered I threw up earlier, but Jiraiya was implying that I was going to go make out with him.
"Okay bye!" I said and rushed off to find Obito.
Jiraiya was going to go report to Minato and I accidentally collided with someone trying to find him.
I got up and I saw Itachi. "Oh, sorry about that,"
I helped him up and he brushed himself off. "Sorry I wasn't looking Hana,"
I gave him a small smile. "It's my fault. I'm looking for Obito, do you know where he is?"
"The store," Itachi replied.
"Oh, do you know why?"
Itachi didn't answer. "I've gotta get going. Shisui wanted to train with me."
Why is everyone acting so weird?
I shook my head and went to Ichiraku. I can never get tired of their ramen. When I sat down, Teuchi was finally there, but he was sulking.
"Mr. Teuchi? What's wrong?" I take a seat on the bar stool.
"Ayame..." He trailed off.
"What's wrong with Ayame?" I ask, starting to get worried.
"She's got a boyfriend!" He exclaimed and slammed his fists down. "I don't even know if that punk will treat my ONLY daughter right!"
I sweat dropped as someone took a seat next to me.
"Oh, don't worry about it too much Teuchi," I replied. "Just get to know him. That's what my Uncle did last night when I invited mine over,"
"You have a boyfriend now? Who? He better treat you right," Teuchi replied.
"It's-" I turned to fix my hair and saw Obito sitting next to me. "Him."
Teuchi grinned. "It's about time! I've been waiting for those news!"
Obito hid his face in embarrassment while I just smiled.
"Ayame came up with a new recipe, so I'll let you two try it out. It's on the house."
