Chapter 52
I listened to her.
"When I was abandoned by my mother, someone took me in," She started. "This person is my idol and I look up to them. They told me the truth about our parents too. Akio and my father used to be best friends when they were children,"
I had a hard time believing that our parents were best friends.
"They always had each other's backs and one day, the Eight-Tails attacked the Cloud Village. After that happened, my father and Akio both went to get help. Akio wanted the power for himself after witnessing it and cut a piece of the tentacle off," Nozomi continued.
"Woah, wait," I said. "You're from the Cloud Village too?"
"Yes, I am," Nozomi said. "And when my father caught up with Akio, he was already sealing the piece of the tailed beast he caught. That's when yours became corrupt and power hungry. My father wanted to give that back to the Raikage, but instead, they fought over it. They spilled each other's blood because Akio refused to give up the scroll,"
Was my father really like this? I don't understand...
"You're lying!" I shouted, starting to get mad.
"I'm not," Nozomi retorted. "Akio took drastic measures and sealed it inside of you. Years later, my father had to take him down because of what he was planning to do with it. He was going to attack the Cloud Village so he could take control over it and that's when our parents died,"
I widened my eyes in shock. I have the Eight-Tails chakra inside of me? Was my father that twisted? What the hell is going on here?
"I...I have the Eight-Tails in me?" I ask with shock.
"Sort of," Nozomi said. "It's just a piece of its chakra, so you aren't a jinchuriki. You have the piece that wants to kill and spill blood,"
I was too shocked to reply.
"Now you see why I want revenge against you," Nozomi said. "Because your twisted father killed mine and I'm going to avenge him,"
"I don't believe you!" I shouted. "Dad was never like that!"
I started to snap.
"Believe what you want, but that doesn't change reality. You can't possibly believe what my brother has to tell you,"
I got out of her spikes and formed a rasengan. I felt rage starting to take over again and I hit her. The force of my rasengan made her fall back into the ground and she looked like she was caught off guard with how angry I was started to get.
"Dad never killed Shinji," I growled. "I watched my own mother get stabbed by him and I watched her die in front me. My dad used a self-destructing jutsu to kill everyone in the house, so whoever gave you that information lied to you,"
"Don't you know how our brains work?" Nozomi asked. "They can create false memories and that's exactly what happened to you,"
I picked her up by the neck with my newfound strength that I had felt when I went on that mission with Kushina and I got in her face.
"I'm not going to listen to you insulting my father. He wasn't like that and he would never do something so evil like that!" I shouted, squeezing tighter around her neck. "And that false memory thing isn't always true. If a child sees his parents being killed right in front of him, he's going to remember that for his life,"
She struggled in my grip, choking for air. She pulled out a poison-laced kunai from her pouch and attempted to stab me with it, but I grabbed her wrist with my other hand and made her drop it.
"Don't even try it Nozomi,"
More anger started coursing through my veins and I used the lightning blast jutsu on her, making her yelp in pain from the electrical shocks that were hitting her. I used my free hand to use water shurikens that cut her skin and reverted back to water.
Nozomi kicked my leg harshly, making me stumble forward and release my grip around her neck.
She coughed and panted after she was free. "I see the Eight-Tails chakra is starting to kick in,"
I glared at her.
"Now you can see for yourself that I wasn't lying,"
"Shut up!" I snapped.
"Looks like you're starting to get serious," Nozomi said. "If that is the case, then I'll get serious now,"
I looked at her with confusion and black lines started forming over her body and face. Her lips started changing into a blue color and her pine green hair changed into a dark purple and grew out longer. More chakra surged through her.
"What the hell are you?" I ask.
"My leader is a great man, he gave me this power so I could take you down once and for all," She got in a fighting stance.
"Enough talk, let's finish this once and for all," I said.
"Fine by me,"
She lunged at me, weaving signs for a fire release. Her mouth opened, sending a stream of fire towards me in the shape of a dragon's head. I dodged swiftly, only missing by a few seconds. I got burned again, but the rocks behind me suffered the most damage. The rocks melted into piles of magma.
Her attacks seemed to have gotten stronger now.
"Water style: Drilling water spears!"
I summoned sharp drills from the water and threw them at her. Only three had managed to pierce her skin and blood dripped from where they pierced her. She flinched slightly because they stung since cold water on an open cut tends to burn.
She used another fire release that aimed fireballs in the shape of a dragon's head towards me. I got hit by this because I was a bit distracted by how drastically her appearance had changed. Her eyes changed into an amber color instead of silver.
The jutsu burned me and I screamed out.
"Damnit!" I hissed in pain.
I made a shadow clone so I could use it as a decoy.
"Shadow clones?" Nozomi chuckled unhumorously. "That won't work on me,"
My clone ran in front of her with a rasengan while I ran from behind. She attacked the clone thinking it was me.
"What? I was sure that was her," Nozomi muttered.
The rasengan hit her back, making her shirt rip and she fell to the ground face first.
To my surprise, her body turned into a ball of earth and I felt something sharp stab my back.
I turned around seeing that she had an earth spike. "You know, I can't believe you fell for that. You should know that earth clones are slower than the user,"
I ignored her and formed a water sword as she formed a fire spear.
The two of charged towards each other. The fire spear pierced through my stomach and the water sword pierced through hers. Both of us coughed up blood.
"At least you managed to hit me this time," I taunted, trying to ignore the burning sensation I felt from the flaming spear.
The flames died out and the sword reverted back into water.
I stumbled back and she did the same. I took in her appearance. She was panting, obviously not used to how much power she was using and her clothes were ripped from my attacks and her stomach wound was bleeding. I probably looked the same.
I could feel the blood dripping from my stomach wounds.
She appeared behind me quickly and I felt her trying to poison me with her shurikens, but they only cut a part of my hoodie and I managed to duck so her swings missed. I used this as an opportunity to kick her in the side.
She stumbled back, shaking. She was having a hard time trying to control how much power she was using.
"I saved this last jutsu just for you, Hana,"
"I can say the same for you, Nozomi,"
Both of us weaved signs at the same time.
"Raging Storm of the Dragon!"
"Water Style: Great Waterfall!"
A large amount of water emerged from the lake behind me and I used the chakra that the Eight-Tails gave me to make it start moving quickly like a cyclone.
Nozomi channeled her chakra all over her body, bending forward, and then pushed her hands onto the ground firmly.
Our jutsus combined were going to leave a gigantic mark.
Huge columns of flames burst through the ground that was colored in purple, blue, and red from the chakra that she had channeled into her attack. It looked like she was using all of her chakra. She aimed them at me while my water turned on its side, rushing towards her with great speed.
The impact of our jutsus hitting each other resulted in a huge disaster. I slammed back into the ground from the fire hitting me and I could feel it burning my skin. It was like tons of needles hitting me all at once.
The water threw Nozomi back and made her hit her head on a boulder.
Everything died down and I turned my head, seeing that she was lying unconscious on the ground since she had hit her head. Every tree that was around us were ripped from the ground and other boulders were cracked in half from the amount of force. I could feel my own consciousness started to slip.
Was this the end?
