Chapter 32

The next morning, I woke up from a strange dream. I could see Minato hovering over me and I just about had a heart attack because that dream left me jumpy.

"You alright?" Minato asked.

"Yeah," I sat up and rubbed my eyes. "I'm fine, just a weird dream I had left me kind of jumpy. Are you going to show me the final step of the rasengan?"

"Yes, but let's eat breakfast first," Minato said. "I made us some scrambled eggs and rice because Kushina went out to get groceries. Her friends, Mikoto and Tsume tagged along with her so she'll probably be out for a while,"

He left my room to let me get dressed and I changed into my ninja attire. I saw he had a bowl with the rice and eggs fixed for me and a glass of milk.

He sat down with a cup of coffee and his bowl.

"What's the final step to the rasengan?" I ask.

"Containment,"

"Containment?"

"Yes, but I'll explain that to you when we are on the training ground,"

I quickly ate my breakfast so I could get to learning the rasengan quicker and put my dishes in the sink. I ran to the bathroom to brush my teeth and tie my hair in its usual ponytail and then rushed back out. Minato was amused at how I was rushing.

"Okay let's go!" I said enthusiastically and ran out of the house after slipping my boots on.

I waited on the porch for Minato to come out and he finally did. He may be the Yellow Flash, but he can still be a slowpoke sometimes.

We walked to the training ground and I got there about fifteen seconds before he did.

"Okay, so go on about the 'containment' thing," I said and looked at him attentively.

"Now," He said. "You already know that there are three steps to the rasengan. It's rotation, power, and containment. You've already learned the first two, so now I will be teaching you about containment,"

"And how do I do the last step?"

"Containment is combining the first two steps into the shape of a sphere," He held his hand out and a blue ball of chakra was swirling in the palm of his hand.

"That's so cool!" I exclaimed. "But how do I make it turn into a sphere?"

"It's going to take a long time to learn, but there is a simpler away to learn. Just use that balloon that we used before and it'll help you visualize the shape of a sphere,"

I groaned loudly. "The balloon again?!"

He chuckled. "Yes, but it's different this time. Instead of popping or moving it, you have to be able to contain your chakra into that balloon,"

"How hard is this last step?"

"It'll take a while and lots of patience, but that's where Master Jiraiya comes in. He'll help you out and he seems to have taken a liking to you," Minato smiled.

I grinned widely at the thought of being trained by a Sannin. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get started now!"

He handed me a pack of balloons and used one to demonstrate what I'm supposed to do. His balloon didn't move at all or pop. It was pretty impressive. After that, he handed the balloon to me and leaned against the post to watch me do this.

"Okay, I've got this!" I put my chakra into it and rotated it.

To my displeasure, the balloon popped. "Or not..."

I sweat-dropped and I took another balloon out, trying to attempt this.

They still continued to pop and now I was starting to get frustrated because this was a lot harder than it looks.

"This is so complicated! How did you do this?" I ask him, after my fifth try.

"I didn't figure out to use the balloons or rubber balls until later. I taught myself without using them and that took way longer, so don't think you can just learn this in a day. Just keep practicing until you get it," Minato replied.

I continued practicing, but they still popped every time I tried and if they didn't pop, it would just move around. This last step is pretty frustrating, but I wanted to learn this so Jiraiya could be impressed that I didn't need a lot of help with the rasengan.

After a while, Minato called it a day and we went home. I saw that Aunt Kushina's friends were sitting at the table and they all turned their heads when they heard us walk through.

There was a woman who had spiky brunette hair and two fang markings on her cheeks and then a woman with onyx eyes and long raven hair.

"Oh, Hana let me introduce you to my friends," Kushina said and pointed towards the woman with raven hair. "That's Mikoto and the other one is Tsume,"

Tsume just nodded and Mikoto smiled.

"Is this your daughter, Kushina?" Mikoto asked.

"No, she's my niece." Kushina replied.

"Oh, well she looks like she could be your daughter. She bears a striking resemblance to you."

I went to my room to get ready for bed and I was too tired and frustrated to be hungry.

~Time Skip~

I opened my eyes, seeing sage green painted walls and I looked around. I was in my old bedroom. Was I back in the Cloud Village? Was meeting Uncle Minato and Aunt Kushina all just a dream?

I looked outside the window, but there was a blinding light and I couldn't see where I was. It was like I was stuck in a picture.

I walked towards the door and opened it, seeing my old hallway. I could smell the faint smell of waffles and bacon, just like I always used to. I walked downstairs and saw bloodstains on the floor and my parents just standing in the living room. They both looked at me and smiled.

"Mom? Dad?"

They were silent and their smile dropped. I noticed their mouths started moving, but I couldn't hear what they said.

"Guys, I can't hear you," I said.

They both turned around as if they were leaving.

"Wait, don't leave! Mom, Dad!"

I tried to grab their wrists, but my hand when through them.

"No, wait!"

The same blinding light blocked my vision and everything started to turn blurry.

That's when my eyes opened for real this time.

I opened my eyes and sat up quickly. I looked around, seeing that I was in my sky blue room. Why does this dream keep reoccurring? I had it yesterday and a few weeks ago. Are my parents trying to say something to me?

I yawned and stretched out. I shook off the thoughts and then realized that I was going to meet with Jiraiya today about my training. Now, I was pumped again.

I ran to the shower to get ready and then ran back to my room after I was all done in the bathroom. I guess Jiraiya is going to have to help me with the last step to the rasengan, but I wasn't bothered by that anymore. I was going to be trained by a Sannin and now I can brag to everyone about it.

I walked out to the kitchen to get something to eat and I saw a note that was on the fridge.

Hana,

Minato and I went out on a mission and Jiraiya will be here soon, so be ready to leave with him. We should be back tomorrow morning.

-Kushina

I was now worried about them. I didn't want to lose them because I cared too much about them to lose them. If something happened to them, I wouldn't be the same again. I'd be broken and I can't lose the only family I have left.

I opened the fridge to get the carton of milk out and made some instant ramen.

Kushina yelled at me for drinking out of the carton, so I poured a glass this time and put the carton back. I finished my milk and ramen and just as I was about to sit on the couch, there was a knock on the door.

I assumed that it was Jiraiya, so I eagerly went to the door.

I opened it and saw that familiar bushy white hair and my eyes lit up. He noticed this and grinned.

"Sorry, my research took longer than expected, but are you ready squirt?" He asked.

"Hell yeah, I am!" I shouted.

He laughed at my reaction. "Did you pack up?"

"Pack up?"

"Yes, Squirt, we're going to be gone for a week. So you need to go back up,"

"Let me do that right now," I said and invited him inside.

I scurried to my room to pack up and I picked up my bag, nearly falling over. It was very heavy and Jiraiya came in to check on me. He looked confused as to why I packed up so much stuff.

"You don't need that much stuff, take a smaller bag," Jiraiya said and went back to the living room.

I packed less stuff this time and picked the bag up with ease.

I walked out to the living room

"Now are you ready?" Jiraiya asked when I walked out of the hallway.

"Yes, let's get going!" I said, rushing out the door.

I locked the door when Jiraiya stood on the porch.

"Okay, we've better hurry or it'll be dark by the time we get to the other side of the village," Jiraiya said.

We started leaving and I looked over at him in confusion.

"Other side of the village?"

"It's better to train over there, but it's pretty far. My friend likes gambling over in that area and it gets pretty crowded, so just stay close to me," Jiraiya said.

"Also, I need help with my rasengan. I can't get the last step and the stupid balloons just keep popping on me,"

"Minato already told me about that, so I'll help you with it. I also have some more jutsus to teach you based off of your two chakra natures,"

I was more excited.

"I don't even know my second chakra nature, so how are you going to figure it out?"

"I have some papers that'll tell me what it is and we'll use those at the training ground," Jiraiya replied.

It was quiet for a while, but then I broke the silence.

"Um," I said nervously. "Do you know when the next festival is exactly?"

My cheeks flushed. Damnit, now that probably gave my reason for asking away.

Jiraiya gave me a sly smile. "It's a month after the final rounds. Why? You taking someone special?"

"W-What? No! I um...I'm just wondering, that's all" I retorted defensively.

"It's Sakumo's son, isn't it?" Jiraiya laughed at my obvious lie.

I was confused as to who "Sakumo" is. Jiraiya noticed this.

"Kakashi," He clarified

I flushed. "I..I..."

"Or is it Obito?" He teased again.

"I...Kakashi...Obito...I don't know!" I was fifty shades of red at this point.

"I'm just teasing, don't get defensive Squirt!" He ruffled my hair.

I had to calm my blushing face down. After I had it under control, my mind went back to Minato and Kushina. I was scared to lose them so I hope they get back from that mission quickly. I can't lose the last bit of family I had left.
