Chapter 1 *EDITED*
"Dad, where are we going?" Hana asked, tightening her small grip around her father's hand as they passed through the gates into a village she'd never seen before.
He glanced down, offering a reassuring smile. "Remember how I told you your aunt and uncle live in the Hidden Leaf Village?"
She nodded quickly, deep sage eyes wide and curious.
"We're gonna visit them."
Hana brightened at the thought, feeling excitement bubble in her chest until they stopped in front of a large house—far bigger than their cozy apartment back in the Cloud Village. Her father knocked gently, and moments later, a cheerful woman with vivid red hair swung open the door, greeting them warmly.
Before Hana could say anything, her father knelt beside her. "Listen, Hana, I'm gonna leave you with your aunt and uncle for a little while, alright?"
Hana felt a lump form in her throat, her eyes beginning to sting. "But...why can't I come with you?"
"I've got some grown-up stuff to handle. It won't take long—I promise," he reassured, smoothing her hair gently.
She nodded reluctantly as her aunt lifted her gently into her arms. Hana clung to her, watching sadly as her father walked away, becoming smaller and smaller until he disappeared completely.
A sudden loud banging jolted Hana awake, and she tumbled from her bed onto the floor with an undignified yelp.
"Ouch! That really hurt," she groaned, rubbing her elbow.
"Hana, wake up already! You're gonna be late!" Kushina's voice called from behind the door before she swung it open, eyes blazing. "What're you still doing down there?"
"Sorry, Aunt Kushina! I'm up, I'm up!" Hana scrambled to her feet, nearly tripping again in her haste.
Kushina's fierce expression instantly melted into a playful smile. "Good! Breakfast is almost done," she sang cheerfully, vanishing down the hall again.
Hana sighed, amused but slightly frazzled. Aunt Kushina was like lightning—quick, unpredictable, and just a bit frightening when she wanted to be.
After getting dressed, Hana walked into the dining area where Minato sat quietly, sifting through paperwork at the table. He glanced up and smiled warmly.
"Morning, Uncle Minato," Hana said tiredly, sitting across from him.
"Morning, Hana," Minato replied, eyes kind. "Sleep well?"
"Mostly," she answered with a small shrug, pushing thoughts of the dream away again.
Kushina set down bowls of rice and eggs in front of them, smiling proudly. "Any fun plans today, Hana?"
"Yeah! Kurenai, Obito, and I are checking out that new cafe," Hana said excitedly, eyes sparkling at the thought of the cats. "Apparently, it's got cats everywhere."
"Sounds cute," Minato chuckled softly.
Breakfast went by quickly, and Hana rose to clear her dishes. Opening the fridge, she eyed the milk carton, debating if she had time for one more sip.
"Don't even think about it," Kushina warned sharply from across the kitchen.
Hana jumped slightly, hastily closing the fridge. "I was getting a cup this time, I swear!"
"Sure you were," Kushina teased with a knowing look.
Laughing sheepishly, Hana quickly slipped her shoes on. "I'm heading out!"
"Be back by dinner!" Kushina called out as Hana darted through the door.
At their usual training ground meeting spot, Obito stood slumped and grumbling while Kurenai waved excitedly.
"Finally!" Kurenai laughed. "We thought you fell back asleep."
"Hey, it only happened once... or twice," Hana defended, smirking.
"Do I really have to come?" Obito groaned, stuffing his hands deep into his pockets. "Cats never like me."
"Too bad," Hana grinned playfully, tugging at his sleeve. "You're coming whether you like it or not."
"Besides," Kurenai added gently, "they've got snacks. Cookies, Obito."
"Fine," Obito conceded reluctantly, "but these better be amazing cookies."
The trio walked through the village together, Kurenai animatedly chatting about everything from training to the newest gossip. Hana, though smiling and nodding, drifted occasionally back to her dream. She shook the memories away, focusing instead on the warmth of her friends beside her.
"Oh, Hana!" Kurenai suddenly gasped. "I almost forgot! There's this really cute guy I met the other day—"
Obito's face instantly twisted into a comically horrified expression. Hana laughed softly, nudging him teasingly as they continued toward the cafe.
"Obito, you okay there?" Hana teased.
"Ugh," he groaned dramatically. "Can we talk about literally anything else? Like cats? Cookies? Anything?"
Hana and Kurenai shared a mischievous look before bursting into laughter, dragging their protesting friend toward the brightly colored cat cafe ahead.

Here's the new edit, which will take place in Kakashi's Gaiden. I'll try to make it as accurate as I can, but this story will have its own since there's not much on Obito and Kakashi's past. I'm currently switching the POVs to third because I'm realizing I'm not a fan of first person anymore. I used to write it like that to make it easier, but I realize people prefer third person now.
