Chapter 13 - Night of Blood
Author's Note: Enjoy. ;) Okay, here's the life update! I'm still struggling with healing, but I'm better than I was a few months back, of course. And the good news is. I'm returning to writing. Just have faith in me that I'll definitely end this story. This chapter is unedited. So, you might encounter a few typos. Thank y'all. I love you. <3

To be honest, I could not see a damn thing for the first couple of minutes. Even I tripped twice. If it wasn't for Veer, I'd totally have fallen face flat on the ground. Veer chuckled at my clumsiness and the sound rang like honey to my ears. There was something very primal about these twins. They could both intimidate you and make you feel at ease and you certainly would get lost in their eyes if you weren't being careful. Thankfully, after a while, the night adjusted my vision. Thanks to the full moon, I could finally see in the dark.
As Veer could move way faster than me, it was gradually becoming difficult for me to cope with him. Even though I just discovered I wasn't a human, I didn't have any previous training in wolf-ing or fae-ing. Whatever!
It was him who started the conversation after we entered the forest. The crickets were chirping louder now, and the previous eeriness was no longer there. I was wondering whether it was just my imagination or it was because of Noraak.
"Why did you come here?"
"What?"
"Do you have any hearing problems?" He asked. Amusement dripping from his voice.
"No. I was thinking."
"Oh. Don't think too much. It makes you absent minded, and being absent-minded while in forest..." he trailed off.
"I get it. I can lose my life. I know."
"Hmm." He paused for a few seconds as we crossed a small clearing and went further inside the forest. Veer was walking ahead of me, and I was enjoying the view of his defined back muscles. Suddenly, he halted making me bump into him. He raised one finger to his lips and indicated to not make a sound. I nodded and followed his gaze. Not far from us, surrounded by the tall trees, there was a deer grazing through the thick grass and bushes.
I was panting slightly but kept quiet as he went behind a thick tree stealthily. Within moments a massive black wolf came out and glanced at me. The darkest green orbs I'd ever seen in my entire life. He bared his teeth silently then turned his attention towards the deer. The deer was still clueless. It was happily grazing and I actually felt sorry for his inevitable future.
I stood frozen on my spot as I saw a blur passing in front of me and towards the deer. The deer looked up for a quick second which was when the wolf leapt at him aiming right at his neck. I shrieked, intending to retreat. But unfortunately, I stepped on a rock and fell hard on my bum. From where I was, I could clearly see what was going on there. The deer was an easy catch. But his death wasn't. All I could see was black blood coming out of the deer's neck and the wolf's mouth. It was probably red, but the darkness made it look like black. I felt gagged.
The deer thrashed under the wolf, and I could clearly sense its pain. Death pain. Nature was cruel. I didn't want it to die, but I expected it to die. If it died, he'd survive. It was all mixed up. My mind was messing with me while my senses were wanting me to watch the end of it. I didn't realize I was shivering until the deer stopped moving and the wolf dropped it on the ground.
The air suddenly smelled of thick blood, and it was making me dizzy. My vision turned hazy when the wolf turned and glared at me. His eyes were glowing in the dark. I couldn't look at him anymore. I closed my eyes and took a shaky breath. I wasn't particularly afraid of him, but the situation was intimidating.
Only a few seconds later, I felt his touch. I opened my eyes just to find the wolf circling and sniffing me. I watched him walking round and round in a very slow stride. I couldn't take it anymore. He looked grizzlier with his fur matted with the deer's blood. Blood was everywhere on him. Suddenly, he leaped on to me making me fall on my back and straddled me. He was massive, his one paw was of the size of my head. I looked into his eyes as he glared at me, baring his teeth.
I didn't know what I was supposed to do at this compromising position. What was he thinking? Sinking his teeth into my neck as well? But he stayed like that for a while, baring his teeth from time to time and swirling his tongue on his mouth. I wasn't particularly afraid of him, but I definitely was uncomfortable. Hesitantly, I reached out and touched his fur below his neck. A low growl reverberated in his throat. I retreated my hand immediately but he growled louder at that.
What should I do now? Would he understand if I spoke to him? But I didn't get the chance to ponder on the thought for a long time. He dropped himself on me, almost forcing my life force to leave my body.
"Oof!" If he wouldn't, his weight would definitely kill me. We lay there for a few moments like that. His massive head was right on my chest before I pulled my hands out from beneath him, and hesitantly dug them into his fur below his ears. A satisfactory low growl reverberated in his throat as I started playing with it. Within moments his form changed. I squirmed, not exactly in fear, but I was definitely intimidated by his new form. His beast form changed into some hybrid form, a cross between a wolf and a human. His skin was still covered in black fur and beastly, but he was now standing on his feet. His shoulders broad and animalistic muscles protruding on every inch of his skin. His defined chest was double the size of me. My eyes dropped on his abs; I did a quick count. eight. Holy lord! Did I have a kink or something? Why was I so turned on right now looking at a terrifying looking monster? I inhaled sharply before my eyes darted up and caught him looking at me with obvious interest.
A blush crept up my cheeks. I was feeling extremely hot even in this chilly weather. His head was still that of his wolf. Massive and terrifying, but the attention he was giving me right now wasn't something that of a killer. I could literally sense the shift in the air. The wolf dropped on his knees before me and caught one of my ankles. I jerked at the sudden action, but didn't break eye contact with him. Why the fuck was I suddenly feeling this needy? As if I wanted him to... touch me... at places inappropriate for anyone except my non-existent boyfriend or husband.
He lowered himself and put his head at eye level to me. I might have stopped breathing at this point while flushing furiously. A moment later, when he grazed his hand over my bare leg, I blinked and sucked in a deep breath before averting my eyes from him. I felt confused and coveted simultaneously at his close proximity. The inside of my chest was bubbling with excitement, and I didn't know whether it was because I was engaging myself unceremoniously in the forbidden forest or because of fear and nervousness.
I was having a hard time hyperventilating when he raised his giant claw startling me, and put a nailed finger beneath my chin, tipping my face up to meet his gaze. I had no other option but to obey him. I didn't know what was going on in his mind, but his eyes were burning with golden orbs in place of his forest green eyes. My breath caught in my throat as I sensed my heart beating frenziedly, like a rabid, caged animal. Adrenaline rushed through my vein and I sensed my wolf's excitement inside me suddenly. She was rather ecstatic and couldn't hold her elation to herself.
'Why are you so happy?' I asked her while holding the wolf's gaze unwaveringly. He didn't even blink and dragged his index finger's nail over my bottom lips and the sensation sent me overdrive. I let out the breath I was holding and almost mewled. I was damn sure the wolf before me enjoyed my misery as he pressed his thumb and other fingers on each of my cheeks and put a pressure on them, not too harsh to hurt. My wolf squealed with joy. 'Mate!'
I didn't understand what she meant as I looked into the wolf's gleaming golden eyes and saw a prominent red circle around his pupils. I was completely hypnotized by his gaze that I didn't even notice when he sat down and gently lifted me up from the ground and turned me around before positioning me between his legs. I literally felt like a baby in his giant arms. He was nearly double the size of me, nearly eight feet. The size difference was simultaneously exciting and unnerving me. A sudden whimper left my mouth as he lowered his snout and breathed just behind my ear earning a shiver from me.
Whatever wonderful things he was doing to me, it felt like he was doing some kind of ritual.
I shivered and closed my eyes while leaning myself on his chest when his claws gradually grazed up from my hip to my abdomen, exposing my skin on the way. The shirt now had reached up to my bust when he stopped and I felt a yank on them.
"Wh-what are..." I gasped, unable to finish my sentence as he gripped my waist firmly from both sides. His nails dug into my bare skin but it was not too sharp to break through my skin. It felt oddly... comfortable...satisfying. I didn't feel ashamed to admit I loved the way he was treating me. I felt special the very first time in my life. I pulled my hands instinctively and reached behind to hold him. They touched his furry arms and I held onto them. My legs felt jelly and my core seemed to come alive. One of his hands left my waist and reached between my legs and helped me spread them wide. My wolf started dancing in my inner world.
I moaned.
An incoherent thought crossed my mind.
Should I feel ashamed?
Before I could answer my own doubt, I felt a sharp poke on my neck and shoulder joint. It wasn't as gentle as his nails on my waist. His hand on my waist increased its pressure, while his other hand pressed against my intimate part. He was touching me, and it felt wonderfully warm. Moisture seemed to pool between my legs until I realized the poke that I was feeling on my bare neck was of his teeth. His canines had elongated and now pressing against my skin to sink into them. My eyes snapped open.
What is he doing? What am I doing?
I rasped, "Ve-Veer! Pl-please..."
The pressure increased at the base of my neck when my wolf whined. 'No...no... don't stop him! He has our blood, and now he's giving us his mark. Don't stop him please.' She whined so loudly inside my head.
Mark?
I panicked and I realized it was drizzling. My clothes were wet and I was glued to the wolf behind me.
No!
I jerked and sat upright, pushing him back in the process. I heard a growl from behind me as I scooted away from him hurriedly, panic coursed through me.
Oh my god! What just happened? What the fuck was happening? I was bloody scared to turn towards him. I rejected him! Now I should start counting the oxygen intake I'd still use up until the wolf killed me. How could I be so dumb? He was a bloody wolf and I bloody pushed him! Oh my god! What was wrong with me? I felt lost and my wolf whined uncontrollably.
I was waiting for the attack from the behind when the wolf let out an ear-splitting howl and second later, I was thrown over his shoulder and then we were running through the forest.
I was terrified, I screamed, cried and thrashed until I felt the wolf shrinking in size. A second later Veer's voice entered my ear. "STOP SHOUTING! GODS! We're under attack, and you're panicked, I get it. But don't shout like that. I'm still with you!"
WHAT? We're under attack? WE'RE UNDER ATTACK? "WHAT?" I screamed again.
"Urvi! God! Stop screaming!!"
He was still running through the woods and I tried to eye around our surroundings. A thousand fireflies were chasing us, and the rain was pouring more heavily.
"We're attacked by fireflies?" I asked, still processing what in the hell was going on.
Veer answered immediately, "They aren't fireflies. They are faes."
Faes? Here? How? Why?
BeforeI could ask him verbally, as if he had heard my question, he added on his own,"Faes are the second most powerful supernatural creatures after dragons. Theymostly deal with forest related matters. Werewolves aren't in good terms withthe faes. The fae queendeclared war against the werewolves years ago. She wrongly accused thewerewolves for killing four of her kingdom guards. Although a werewolf wasindeed found where the corpses were found, they couldn't prove he was the onewho killed them. The faes tied him with silver chains which is the most painfulfor any werewolf. Then on the next full moon night, they tortured him withsilver daggers first, because the effect of silver is the most excruciating ona full moon day. Even though Alpha sent our wolves in peace, they rejected ourpeace treaty and killed all the wolves that were sent along with the caughtwolf. Since then, we're always fighting each other the first sight we get ofthe other. The relation between Faes and Weres has reached the bottom."
