Chapter 13

Efe

You little brat! You don't give up abi?
You are going to die like your mother.
And that boy with you, he'll leave you just like your father did.
I'll make sure of that!
You will never find peace! And the blood of your mother will always be on your head!

Hahaha!

No!

No!

No!

I woke up with my head swirling I'm circles. I clenched my heart in fear. My sweat soaked I and the car seat as well. My tears joined the party and suddenly I forgot where I was.

I don't know why that voice keeps coming back every time.
It makes me feel so unstable. Like I'm just waisting my time and just waiting for death to take me away.

I cried until I felt a hand.

No.

Two hands holding mine and pulling me into a hug. My head rested on the person's chest until I looked up through teary eyes. Seeing Nnamdi.

He didn't ask any questions, asked if I was okay or thought I was crazy. He just hugged me and soaked up my tears. Like he's been through such before?

It was calming actually. It reminded me of Ami. I don't know how she's doing or if they're try to find me.

"Guys, we're here!" Nnamdi's friend said from he front.

I never really knew his name

Nnamdi then let go of me. I saw a glint of guilt in his eyes as he did. But it disappeared as quickly as it came.

We both came down from the car and the quest on my mind was.

What do I do now?

I'm in Abuja. So where in Abuja will I find him. This is going to be hard.

Then my stomach growled. Telling me it's time for breakfast. I looked at Nnamdi, he looked hungry too. The only thing in my bag was biscuits and my bottle of water. I brought them all out and we walked until we got to the side of a building. We sat on the floor and ate in peace.

At least it was what we thought.

"Westin una de do for hia?"
A hoarse voice screamed.

I jumped up scared to my bones  unlike Nnamdi. He was calm and didn't seem shifted. He stood up and approached the gentleman who to explain our situation.

"Oga, Good morning. Na motor we de since. We just wan chop relax for here, then we find out way. Oga abeg chill." Nnamdi casually said in Pidgin.

The man looked at me head to toe. His black shirt which had powder stains on it didn't look so good on his red turned pink pants. He reeking of  sweat and smoke. His eyes red as blood. The veins in his muscles popping out like crazy. His feet dusty like harmattan decided to finish his generation. He was very dark. But his teeth weren't so bad.

"So you and your babe feel say here na honeymoon house abi?
Oyah before I tear una head this morning, mona comot from her fast fast!"

Before we could run he brought out a big chunk of wood. And Nnamdi held my hand and we ran as fast as we could deeper into the corner until we came out through another street which was totally different from the last one.

I breathed heavily and quickly drank the little water left. While Nnamdi was still calm.

What is with this dude?

"So where do we go now?" He asked me.

You tell me.

"I'm not so sure, I don't know exactly where in Abuja he is located."

He looked at me then looked at my bag.

"Check your phone again."
You get a clue.

Na true oh

I rushed through my bag and brought it out.

55% How great.

I logged into Facebook, went to his profile and looked closely.
I scrolled through his pictures one by one but there was nothing.

He is good!

I almost switched off my phone but something caught my eye, I checked his status and he changed it.

Status: Off to Millennium Park with my honey bunny ❤️❤️❤️

"Any clue?"
He asked me.

"Yeah I just got one, his status shows that he's at Millennium Park. Wherever that is."

He nodded and looked up and thought about something. Then he looked at me and said.

"Come with me."

I looked at him quizzically, he smiled which made my heart go on a marathon. We've came that far so I thought I could trust him.

He held my hand and walked away from the street further down. I saw many people. A lot and I mean a lot of stores. I saw families walking hand in hand.
Smiling at each other. Some taking photos while some kids were chasing each other with smiles on their faces.

It took almost two hours when we finally stopped at a shop. Like he knew where to go.

I looked at him as the sun reflected in his sweaty muscles.

Gulp...

"Wait here." He told me and walked away.

I thought he was going leave me but I dismissed the thought. I waited for a few minutes. He came back with a...

Motorcycle?!

"How in God's name did you get a motorcycle?"

He laughed and then shrugged like it was nothing.

He hopped on and told me to hop on too. I was scared at first but he gestured and I did.

"The park is far from here so I figured we needed to save time. Don't ask me how I got the bike."
He said again.

"Alright."

He then started the machine and we went off.

Two teenagers on a bike, how crazy.
