00 - It had been written

Sometimes you could see of what comes to pass in the stars, and sometimes they hid the truth under a veil of shining malice, relishing in our pain, our stories that bind the world together. Destiny, fate. They watched it all come to pass, making sure that we don't deviate from the plan. They had one job, watch over us, watch over the plan but as all things, blink and it all comes crumbling down.

Today however, it went as planned. How it was written, started out perfect within the cold air, the promise of a tempest brewing in the distance. Every nailed down to the board, the girl walking, swaying out the back door as the music blared behind her.

She positively fell down into one of the lawn chairs, sighing as she stared up at the sky. It would be a while before someone noticed she was gone and even more time before they decided to go look for her, in the meantime she'll take this moment of peace to herself.

She closed her eyes, listening to the thunder in the distance, it was soothing to her. The sound of nature. It wouldn't take much for her to slip out of consciousness, the sounds paired with the haze provided by the only liquid they had on offer in the house.

A rustle behind her whipped her from her reverie, eyes snapping open to only find she was still alone, blanketed in the soothing darkness, the only light source coming from the open door, she slipped back into the chair accepting it was only in her head when a hand covered her lips, muffling the scream that left her lips.

Instinct made her push back to no avail as she was dragged against the body, kicking against the air as she struggled to break free, clawing at the hand that dug its nails into her flesh, seeing her vision fade as the light became dimmer and she knew she had to fight harder but ultimately this was the decision that made her vision dim faster until she slumped against the body, a sinister grin spreading over the creature's features.

Everything was going according to plan, the world looked on as she was stolen from her life, and allowed it. Unbeknownst to her importance, her use, she was dragged away under the veil of a simple pawn, an simple offering when she would be so much more if they only allowed it.
