Simply Beginning

Okay, quick IDEA of mine before it goes to waste.

There's a WHOLE story inside my head, but the plot is all over the place so I'm gonna write down just a part of it.
It's an AU btw.
Let's go:

"Tevin! Tevin!"

Four sets of little footsteps were hears running through the halls of the orphanage.
The building was surrounded by a forest located nearby the Kingdom.
It was a peaceful place.

A little house in the forest.

A small girl with orange hair that reached to her shoulders came up to the said man.

"What is it, Quinn?"

"Can you tell us the story again?" She asked him.
Tevin picked her up and sat on a stool.

He had just finished cleaning himself up after a day of gardening.

"What story?"

"The one about the missing Prince!"

"Ohhh... That one...?" Tevin said, a little hesitant about it.

Quinn nodded her head vigorously.
"Pleeaaassseee??"

"W-Well I-"

"Oh do tell us, please! We weren't able to hear about it yet, and Quinn keeps on telling us about it. Please Mr. Tevin? Please???"
One boy, Sam, pleaded.
At this point, the other three began to plead as well.

"Alright! Alright..." Tevin sighed.

"Settle down now... Quinn, no spoilers."

As her name was said, she giggled.

"Alex, Sam, and Chris, listen with your ears open, and your mind wild with imagination. I'm going to tell you a story...

The Kingdom of Plaid.
Once ruled by a fierce and powerful Prince, Tordér, who turned into an honourable and brave King through the miracle of his love for his Queen: Thomas.

It's funny how he was called 'Queen' instead of 'King'.

Pushing that aside, the two ruled the land together with compassion towards their people and those who visited from afar.

It was a seed of love that started it all.

And one glorious day, for some magical reasons, the Queen was able to conceive their first child:

Prince Simon, Son of King Tordér and Queen Thomas, heir to the throne of the kingdom of Plaid.

An immediate feast was held for their little Prince the very next day.
All of the kingdom was invited to this special event held at the Castle.
A few neighboring Royalty came by to see the child, including King Matthew and Queen Edward of Avonlie.

I was there, too.

In fact, I was merely a little boy when my mother brought me to the castle to see the new babe.

The King and Queen spotted me amongst the crowd and invited me and a few other children to look into the crib.
To think I saw the Prince upclose, I've never been more in awe.-

-------

-"Was there a fairy?"

"Saaaaammm!!" Alex whined.
Chris, by instinct, pulled Sam closer to him.

(I find those two cute together UwUOwO❤👏😭✨)

"I- yes and no. He was a Prince, so the fairies simply blessed the royal family by the sidelines. It wasn't very necessary."

"What happened next?"

------

Anyway, the Queen showed us a tired smile.
His smile was filled with kindness and love.
I looked up at him, and then I looked back onto the crib.
Soon, we would be under the rule of the Prince.
I, and all of the children with me, were excited to see that day.

But not everyone was content.

Somewhere amongst the crowd, a man with hair as dark as night, stood and gazed upon the Royal family.

He was filled with rage.

He was jealous of his brother taking the throne, as he was angered that an heir was born.
And to think they were 'disgraced' because he had married another man.

That's what he thought.

Ivan was simply a step brother to Tordér, and even if he was older, he wasn't the actual son of the previous King.

Thus he killed his own father for the throne, with the help of Tordér's step mother.

That is another story.

One night, the kingdom was at rest, as it always was.
It was silent. It was peaceful.
The King, however, had this eerie feeling that he couldn't quite tell.
He slowly sat up from the bed and looked at his side to see Tom sleeping contently.

As he tried to get off, the person beside him shifted.
"T-Tord...?" He croaked out.

"It's alright, love, I'll just be in the palace gardens." Tord assured.

"Mmm... Be careful..." He greeted tiredly.

"Of course. Jeg elsker deg."

He planted a small kiss on Tom's forehead, then walked over to the crib that was placed beside the bed.
Tord caressed his Son's face with a soft smile.

He was out of the room.

The King, still in his nightgown, tread along the garden in deep thought.
Whatever was bothering him kept him awake that he couldn't focus.

He felt that something was about to happen.

But then again, it was a peaceful night.
Wasn't it?

Well, just by the door of their bedroom stood a mysterious man.
He remained hidden in the shadows as he entered the room slowly.

As he stepped inside, he looked at the sleeping figure on the bed.
Next to the person was a crib.
A crib that held the heir to the throne.

The king wasn't there to guard his family.
What a perfect opportunity.
With two of his targets in the same room, he decided to move on with his intent.

He pulled out a sword that was hidden in his cape.

He raised it slowly, walking over to the Queen that lay peacefully under the covers.

The sword was hovering above him.
He was ready;
Ready to remove anyone that was interfering with his plan to take the throne.

He steadily kept the sword up high with his grip strong due to his anger.

He'll show him.
He'll show his brother what it's like to lose everything he's ever adored!

Just as he was about to strike, the babe let out a cry.
Startled, he struck the figure with might.

Yet...

His sword collided with another's.

The Queen, now fully awake and aware, held a sword in his hand and used it to block whatever was about to hit him.

Have I forgot to mention that he used to be the King's personal guard?

The man smirked.
This person was skilled in far ranged weaponry, which meant he could only use a bow.
(Bitch, he just blocked your sword)

Tom's eyes narrowed as he looked up at the man in the shadows.
The light coming from the balcony didn't hit him apparently.

"Who are you?" He growled.

His eyes opened wide as they turned white once he heard the familiar chuckle come from the person before him.

"Ivan..."

"Good to see that you've awoken, your grace."
He mused.
"Makes it more entertaining now that you get to experience the pain along with it! Though, I was hoping you wouldn't notice..."

The two clashed swords. Tom rolled out of bed and dodged the blade. He hit back with his sword which was blocked by Ivan.

The commotion from above attracted Tord's attention.

"What-"

A guard came running to the gardens, bowing at the sight of the King.

"My Lord!" He exclaimed.
"Soldiers have been sent over to investigate on the matter. I was sent over to call you."

"Stand up." Commanded Tord.
"What is happening?"

"The Queen and the babe, sire." He paused.
"They're being attacked."

"No..."
He said in disbelief. He rushed into the palace with the guard following from behind him.

He rushed up the flight of stairs as his heart pounded with dread.

"I'm coming, Thomas!"

One of the maids rushed into the room.
As she looked inside, she saw Tom and Ivan battling away.
Belongings were destroyed and all over the place.
Simon continued to cry.

In the midst of it all,

She was spotted by Tom.

Without a second thought, he dropped the sword and rushed to take Simon out of the crib.

"Your grace-"
She squeaked once Tom grabbed her hand and started to run across the hall.
He held Simon tightly as they took a turn.

A flight of stairs were before them.

They rushed down, but Tom noticed that Ivan was getting closer.

"Take him!" He handed Simon over to her.
"And run!"

"But, Your Majesty-"

"Go!"

With that, she fled.

Tom unfortunately tripped over nothing and fell onto the ground. He turned up only to be met with the sharp end of a blade over his eyes.

Ivan's eyes met with his.

"Weren't you a bit of a hassle?" Ivan said.

"You're not going to last the night, Your Majesty."

"Neither will you, Ivan."

Suddenly, they were surrounded by the palace guards.
Tord held his sword against Ivan's throat.
As Tom stood, he stepped in front of him in a protective manner.

"You're one man plan is over. I'm sending you out of this kingdom!"

Ivan didn't respond.
Instead, he let out a chuckle, then a laugh.
"Bold of you to assume I came alone..."

Another person from nowhere began to attack the soldiers that surrounded them.
He grabbed Ivan's hand, and dropped out a ball that released a puff of smoke.

The two Royals were set to a coughing fit.
Once the smoke cleared, Ivan and his companion were no longer in sight.

"Where did they go?"

From the distance, a scream from one of their servants were heard.
It was followed by a louder wail.

"Simon!" They both cried out in unison.

Simon kept wailing.
The whole palace was high on alert as they tried to attack the Intruders.

One person had the prince in his arms as he ran towards a dragon waiting by the side of the castle.
He knocked a few guards along the way and quickly mounted the creature.
The person pulled on the reigns as the dragon slowly began to flap it's wings and rise from rhe ground.

Ivan looked at the couple amused.
"Ever heard of "Magic Wielders", dear brother? Of course you have! You're married to one!"

Tom was on the verge of wanting to snap that man's neck off of his head.

"Another thing about them: their not so easy to find. Good luck~!" Ivan laughed as he rode on one of the dragons being driven by one of his companions.

--------

"King Tordér took a nearby sword from one of his soldiers and threw it at the dragon. Thus, the dragon lost it's balance, and fell. Yet, despite all their efforts, they managed to escape with Simon within their grasps." Tevin exclaimed as he impersonated the King.

"His brother was able to flee. But it wasn't such a lucky day." He continued.

Sam shook his head in disbelief.
"No! The Prince!"

"Is there more to the story?" Chris asked, still holding onto Sam tightly.

--------

"Your attempts are futile!" He laughed as he ran across the woods.
Tord and his guards chased after him, but soon lost sight of the man.

"I want all troops released first thing in the morning!" He commanded.

"Search the village! Tread the mountains! Leave no stone unturned! BRING ME BACK MY SON!"

The whole kingdom was in horror of the news they had received.
Their beloved Prince, taken into the unknown.
Who knows where he'd be?

Tom fell to his knees and wept. Servants were weeping beside him.
The cries of the Queen were heard throughout the village.

That night, the kingdom was in disarray; listening as a beloved mother cried for his son.

No songs were sung
No bells were rung.
The whole kingdom and it's people wept.

"To this day, not one has heard of any leads as to where the Prince's whereabouts are." Tevin finished.

The four children sat in silence.

"Quinn, I thought this was going to be a nice story about fairytales and magic!" Sam complained.

Quinn shrugged.

"No happy endings? Isn't there more to the story, Mr. Tevin?"

"I'm sorry Alex. There isn't any more. At least, not at the moment."

The man stood up and stretched.

"Alright children, I still have to make dinner for you. Now who wants some Apple Pie?"

This must've been the weirdest and most confusing oneshot you guys have ever read
It was terrible, it was bad.
It was also really cringey.
But hey, it was an immediate thought.
Whatever popped up, I wrote it down. If I ever have a better plot for this, maybe I could change the way Simon got taken -3-

Anyway,
Tevin belongs to Narkoma_
