3rd Person POV:

It was the day of the prince's ball. Many women were going crazy and buying expensive outfits, because the prince was apparently looking for a suitable bride. Guys could go too, but Jon assumed that they went for the ladies. The prince is straight, right? Even if he wasn't, his parents would probably never let him be with another man.

Jon decided to go because his sisters were going. They begged him to come because they, 'didn't want to go alone'. Jon agreed just to shut them up, but he now regretted it. He and his sisters were in a carriage, being transported to the prince's large palace. Jon looked at his sister, Joan. She was all dazzled up, and she wore the most expensive-looking dress he'd ever seen.

"Joan, why is this such a big deal to you?" Joan gasped and blinked, confused by Jon's lack of excitement. "What do you even mean?! The prince is looking for a wife! Have you seen him?!" Joan's face reddened as she thought about the prince sparing a glance to her. Jon sighed, not amused by his sister's gushing.

The two were silent for the rest of the ride, and Jon's other sister, Jane, was busy reading something (Jane is basically a twin of Joan I guess, I just made this up).

When they got to the palace, the women immediately got out of the carriage and bolted inside, holding their dresses up to not touch the ground. Jon exited the carriage and thanked the 'driver', walking into the palace.

His sisters were lost in the crowd, so he went to the spot where all of the food was. What else could he do? Be like the other guys and dance with random women? He wasn't interested. After stuffing his face with food for a while, everyone in the room stopped dancing and chattering. Jon saw that they were looking at something, so he looked in that direction. Standing there was the prince himself, who seemed like he didn't want to be there.

"Commence." The prince shouted, and everyone went back to dancing. Jon observed the prince for a long while, and he felt his face starting to get warm. 'Oh my god, he really is hot.' He thought to himself. He shyly turned his head away, going back to eating all of the food. He kinda sulked too, wishing that the prince was bisexual. He tried to stop himself from sounding like Joan, but it was getting hard. It was especially hard when he heard the prince's voice again.

"Hello there." The prince's voice sounded strangely close, so Jon looked to his side. Standing there was the prince, and Jon felt ashamed of himself for having an entire bagel in his mouth. Jon chewed and swallowed before talking, having his manners. "H-hey!" He greeted. He internally kicked himself for sounding too excited.

Jon was amazed when the prince took a pastry from the table of food and ate it, acting carefree. After the prince finished chewing on that, he swallowed and gave Jon an odd look. "What? Princes eat too, y'know." Jon giggled and nodded, taking a cinnamon roll from the table. "I see that." He replied. It felt weird for the prince to be at the same level as him in the 'royalty scale', but it felt nice at the same time.

The two males just ate and ate for a while, and Jon was starting to get a bit full. "So, what's your name?" The prince asked, smiling a bit. Jon was surprised that the prince even noticed his mere existence. "I'm Jon. Your name is Tord, right?" Jon answered, smiling back. The table of food was starting to get a bit empty. "Yeah, that's me." The prince responded. The two stopped eating, both of them full from eating so much junk.

"Dude, this party sucks. Wanna go outside?" Tord suggested. Jon cocked a brow. "Isn't this your own party?" Tord frowned and shook his head. "It's my stupid parents' party that was 'for' me, even though I never even wanted it." Jon felt pity for the prince, but it made the prince so much more mysterious. "You don't want a wife?" Jon questioned, earning a laugh from the prince.

"No, why would I? I'm only 21 years old!" Jon's breath hitched. 'I'm... 19...' Jon pushed that thought away. "Sorry about that. And yeah, we could go outside. Are you sure it's safe for you?" Tord shrugged and adjusted the small golden crown on his head. "I'll be fine. I just need to get out of here..." The prince started fiddling with his fingers, a saddened expression on his face. "Alright, let's go!"

Tord grinned a small bit and started walking away, Jon following alongside him. They stayed silent until they reached the castle's gardens, where Tord sat on a white bench. Jon sat on the bench next to him, looking around. Jon never thought he'd be able to be here, and with the prince. "...Jon, why are you so kind?" Tord queried, breaking the silence. Jon was more than confused by that question.

"Why? Are people usually mean to you?" "Well... when people meet me... they usually just want to befriend me for my money. Or, to get in my pants. You're just... here. Hanging out with me and not asking me for anything. You act like you don't have a care in the world..." Tord explained, fiddling with his fingers again. '...I thought that he was the carefree one...?'

"I dunno, my sisters brought me here. I wasn't expecting anything to happen, but... I made a friend. And I don't care if you're a prince or not. You're my friend. O-only if you want to be friends, of course..." Jon rambled. Tord stopped fiddling with his fingers, now beaming at Jon. "I'd love to be friends with you, Jon." They both sat in silence, thinking.

"...Do you have any siblings?" Jon inquired, wanting to chat with the prince for a while longer. "Yeah, a bitch of a sister. Y'know, princess Tori?" Tord huffed and crossed his arms. "Tori doesn't have to have a ball to get a certain lover. She has to meet princes from all over the world. Lucky little prissy bastard." Tord was throwing curse words left and right, and it shocked Jon. "Lucky?" Jon questioned.

"Well... okay, are you quick to judge people?" Tord asked, Jon shaking his head 'no'. "I... like guys. There, I said it. I mean... girls are cool too sometimes... but I'd prefer to be with a guy. Like, romantically. And sexually." Tord blushed after admitting that. Jon's cheeks turned a bit pink, but it fortunately wasn't noticeable. "...Oh." Was all he said. Tord covered his face with his hands, flustered.

"Shit- pretend like I never said that." "No, it's fine! I get it!" The prince uncovered his face a bit to see if Jon was smirking. "...You're serious?" "Well... I guess that guys are kinda cute sometimes, so I get it." "Phew... thanks for not judging me." "No problem! Tell me if you ever have any guy troubles, I suppose." Tord chuckled and nodded. "Roger that."

They went silent for an even longer while than before. Tord seemed to be contemplating about something, and he kept glancing at Jon. Tord was hesitating to say what he wanted to say, so Jon helped him out. "What's up, Tord?" He asked, the prince jumping slightly.

"W-well... this is totally unrelated to the little talk we just had... I was just wondering... god, why can't I just spit it out?" Jon put a hand on Tord's shoulder to comfort him. "Take your time." Jon's bright smile gave Tord a bit of courage. "Okay... do you maybe wanna... dance with me?" Tord finally asked, his face a bit red. Jon blushed, suddenly feeling a bit shy. "O-out here?" "There's a grassy field nearby... still close to the palace... we could go there..."

Jon thought about how to answer that. 'Is he into me?' "...That sounds n-nice..." Jon said quietly, blushing just as much as the prince was. Tord stood up and Jon followed, and Tord took Jon's hand into his before running off. Jon giggled and tried to keep up with Tord, squeezing the prince's hand to acknowledge that he noticed their intertwined hands. Tord laughed, sounding a bit nervous.

They soon reached the area that Tord talked about, and Tord turned his body to face Jon. Jon smiled and brought a hand up to Tord's shoulder, the other one still holding Tord's hand. Tord brought his free hand to Jon's hip, but moved it up to Jon's midsection. Then, they started to dance together. They didn't need music to dance, it seemed.

Tord pondered what chaos the palace was in without him being there, but his thoughts went away when Jon rested his head on Tord's chest. The two males continued to dance for a long time, but soon Tord stopped. Jon lifted his head from Tord's chest, smiling. Both of their faces were red from that experience.

"...We should be getting back. My parents are going to kill me if they find out that I left." Jon nodded understandingly. "Same with m-mine." He stuttered. So, the two went back to the palace.

They said their goodbyes and split up, both of the males wondering when they'd meet again. Jon watched as Tord danced with some of the women, and he did notice how flirty the women were with the devil-horned male. Jon felt bad for him, and he hoped that the prince would have better days soon enough.
