[Imaginary Jon AU] - Part Three (finale)

The final part!

======================

3rd Person PoV:

Tord awoke, sitting up with a groan. Jon was still asleep next to him, making him smile. Though, it quickly dropped. He left his bed, pecking Jon's forehead, then he left his room. Matt exited his room, whining. "Tord, did you take my hairbrush?!" The ginger asked, Tord looking over at the taller male. "Nope. Maybe Tom has it, since he has such long hair." Tord lied, a grin coming to his face. "No I didn't! Commie, don't put that on me!" Tom shouted from the couch, making Tord snicker. "Yeah, yeah, sure." Tord replied, hearing Tom growling to himself. "Tord, go easy on him. He's already grumpy today." Edd scolded Tord from the kitchen, making the male roll his eyes. "He's always grumpy! Also, from what? What is today's excuse?" Tord questioned, Tom flipping him off as he continued watching TV.

"The new neighbors argued with him. They mostly seem rude, but there's another one of them that's just quiet. I think he's shy. You should meet him later!" Edd replied, Tord nodding. "Sure, I guess." He decided, shrugging his shoulders. Matt left Tord's side, going to the couch to watch TV with Tom. Tord turned, looking back at his bedroom door.

His doubts about Jon had been growing recently, ever since he finished high school and college, and he got new friends. He felt like he should meet someone real that everyone could see. It felt off when nobody could see him sneak a quick kiss to Jon. Plus, if Jon had the option, wouldn't he go out and meet other people, so he wouldn't have been with Tord anyway? Tord looked down at his feet, feeling hopeless. He'd have to let go of Jon at some point, right? He'd just have to move on, to find someone that everyone could see.

Tord started to get a headache, so he hit his head against the wall. He kept doing it until he was dizzy, and his friends noticed and watched him. "U-uhm, Tord, what's-" Edd was cut off by Tord, who yelled loudly from frustration, "I can't fucking take it anymore!" Tord turned and opened his bedroom door, entering. He then slammed the door behind himself, locking the door. Jon sat up, woken up by Tord's yelling, groggily looking around. "Tord? What's-" Jon yawned in between his sentence. "What's wrong?" Tord eyed the shorter male, then he felt his own eyebags, lost in thought.

"J-Jon... I... I'm sorry, but..." Tord finally spoke up, Jon standing from his and Tord's shared bed. "Sorry about what, Tordsie?" Jon questioned, going over to Tord and setting his hands on his lover's hips. "Fuck... st-stop making this so hard..." Tord mumbled, wrapping his arms around Jon's neck as he stole a kiss from the male. But, Tord realized what he was doing, then he pulled away and averted his gaze. "What am I doing to make you feel that way? Are you alright?" Jon queried, utterly oblivious.

"Jon... I... ugh..." Jon pecked Tord's cheek, then his jawline. "It's okay, take your time! I'm here for you, like always!" Tord felt hollow at that moment. He was about to lose the only person that he'd always talked to, the one that he wished for in the first place. His mouth felt dry, but he knew that he had to end it once and for all. He'd find someone else, someone real. "Jon..." Tord harshly pushed Jon away, and Jon's eyes widened as he fell onto the floor. "T-Tord? What's going on?" Tord cracked a smile, then laughed quietly, looking toward his feet. "Classic, stupid, Jon~!" "H-huh? Did you just call me... stupid?" Tord laughed maniacally, walking up to Jon and squatting down next to the frightened male, setting his hands on Jon's shoulders.

"Don't you get it, Jon? You aren't real, and you never have been!" Tord whispered, a toothy grin on his face. Jon shook his head, setting his hands onto Tord's hands. "I am real! See?! See?!" Jon brushed his hands against Tord's, which were cold. "That's not gonna work on me anymore, Jon." Tord spat, Jon bringing his hands to Tord's face. "Tord, please! What happened to us? You and I, forever and always! Where did that go?" Jon asked, Tord's smile faltering. "Please, answer me!" Jon begged, but Tord was already too far to stop now. "That all never happened. It was all in my head, just like you. You, you you!" Tord yelled at Jon, who backed away from Tord and brought his hands into his hair. His form started to slowly fade, making Tord's eyes widen.

"J-Jon?! What's happening to you?!" He went up to Jon, who collapsed into his arms. "You don't believe in me anymore, nor do you need me, so I-I'm-" Jon started to cry, tears welling up in Tord's eyes as well. "I'm disappearing!" Jon finished, continuing to fade away. "N-no! I didn't want you to die! I-I just- wanted to go back to being friends! B-but I've changed my mind!" Tord said, Jon bringing a hand to Tord's cheek. "Please, I don't want to fade away! H-help me!"

Jon's form started to become unstable, Tord's hands starting to phase through him. He gave Jon a final kiss, but then phased through the male yet again. Jon looked at Tord, starting to accept his fate. "I-I love you..." "Jon, no!" Jon tried to pet Tord's head, but his hand phased through. "I don't have a choice. Goodbye, Tord." With that, Jon fully faded away. Tord stared at the spot that Jon had been, silence taking over.

The deed had been done.

- Time Skip -

It was a week or so after Jon's death, and Tord had become depressed as time continued to pass. He found himself touching the blankets where Jon used to sleep under, and the hole in the wall from when Tord was wondering how strong Jon was. And, Jon's favorite book, which rested on the floor next to his bed. He picked it up, re-reading it for what felt like the millionth time. He found a sketch on the back of the book, it was Jon's silly drawing of him and Tord together.

That made Tord feel worse, in all honesty. He stayed on his bed, sighing as he ran a hand through his hair. Then, he jumped from fright, hearing a knock at the door. "Tord! One of the neighbors came over! Come meet him!" Edd told him, not knowing why Tord had been so upset the past days. "No." Tord replied simply, Edd sighing. "I'll cook some bacon if you come out, just to say a quick 'hi' or something." Edd bribed, Tord lifting his head.

"...Fine." Tord grumbled, standing up and going over to his bedroom door, opening it. Edd smiled and nodded, internally cheering for himself. Edd and Tord headed to the couch, Tord freezing once he saw who it was.

It was Jon, or, it looked exactly like Jon. The boy looked up at Edd and Tord, then waved. "Hi, Edd! Who's that?" Tord felt paralyzed in place, and Edd quirked a brow. "Sorry, he's a bit shy. But, his name is Tord!" Edd spoke for Tord, who glanced at him before bringing his gaze back to Jon. "...Jon..." Tord muttered, Jon cocking a brow. "How do you know my name? Did Edd tell you?" Jon questioned, but noticed that even Edd was surprised. "Do you... remember anything?" Tord asked, feeling a bit hopeful that Jon was back, and everyone could see and hear him. "Uh... no? Have we met before?" Jon responded, obviously confused. Tord bit his inner cheek, then hummed, quickly making a story up.

"Oh- we just- uh- met during high school, remember? A-actually, you probably don't remember, nevermind-" Tord stuttered, Jon humming. "I'm sorry, I don't remember. But hey, we can be friends now, right?" Jon replied, standing up with a hand stretched out to Tord. The devil-horned male took it, gently shaking it. "Yeah... friends..."

(That's the end! I hope that you like the AU? Because it's fucking 3:40 in the morning holy hell I didn't sleep!)
