Doctor's appointment

Christopher opened his eyes and realized that he was in a small white room resting on a bed.

"Just where exactly am I and how did I get here?" He questioned himself. "Looks like a hospital." He said after he glanced around the room and noticed a heartbeat monitor and several other high tech medical equipment around him.

He began to remove objects from off of his body that were connected to some of the machines then got off the bed.

"Wow, you're awake." A feminine voice was heard coming from Christopher's left.

Christopher turned to see who it was and saw a young lady in a nurse's outfit.

"I'm glad you finally regained consciousness, you've been out for a while now." She said perkily with a bright smile on her face.

"What am I doing here?" Christopher asked the nurse in a confused tone.

"A young blonde boy brought you here a week ago he looked around your age. You were all banged up with serious injuries. You ought to tell your friend thanks for what he did."

The blurry image of a blonde stranger standing in front of him while he was laying face down on the ground flashed into Christopher's head.

"I don't have any connections with that person. So I wouldn't exactly classify him as my friend." Christopher said coldly as his eyes darted towards the exit.

"I would have been glad that someone risked their life to saved me." The nurse mumbled.

"Well I couldn't care less about what you think." Christopher replied in an aggressive tone while making his way towards the door.

"Sir. I don't think you should be moving about just yet. You may appear as if you're in peak condition but we have to run a few more tests on you just to make sure."

'There is no way you could be at full health after just one week." She said while blocking the exit.

"Well then I guess you guys are better doctors than you give yourselves credit for." He said standing in front of her as if he was waiting for her to move out of his way.

She pulled out a needle that had a transparent liquid in it from her pocket and held it in a way that would make it impossible for it to not be seen. "I don't want to do this so please get back to your bed. I'll even bring in a TV so you will feel more comfortable." She said trying to negotiate.

"I'm leaving this place right now. I need to find answers. I have to find out what's going on and as soon as possible. I don't have time waiting around on a hospital bed. I've already wasted a week here already and I refuse to wait a minute longer." He said to himself.

"I don't want to use force but ----" the nurse was cut off.

"That won't be necessary. This young man is clear to leave the hospital."

A young male with a long white coat then walked in. He obviously had a higher rank in the hospital than the nurse because she stopped talking and stepped aside as soon as she heard his voice.

He smiled at Christopher. "My, you've grown up to be quite an aggressive person haven't you Christopher." He chuckled

Christopher shot him a look of confusion. "Do I know you?"

"I didn't expect you to recognize him. It's been so long since you've last payed him a visit." His grandfather said as he made his way into the room.

Christopher was now more confused than ever.

"What are you doing here?" He asked his grandfather.

"I'm sure you have more important questions to ask rather than how I got here. Don't you agree?" Asked the old man.

His grandfather along with the man in the coat then walked out of the room in way that made one assume that they wanted you to follow them. So Christopher did just that, he walked pass the nurse who was standing beside the exit without even looking over in her direction and made his way out of the room.

He followed the men to the front desk that was located in a hall. This hall didn't have a single person in it but this is where the man in the coat checked Christopher out of the hospital.

"You're now free to leave. Oh and Christopher, stay out of trouble okay." The man in the coat said with a smile.

"Don't talk to me as if we are acquainted. We aren't so keep your nose out of my business." Christopher walked off.

A loud banging noise echoed through the almost empty hall. Christopher held his nose in agony his hands were now covered with his blood.

"You should show some respect to the man you are speaking to. He is my childhood friend and has taken care of you on multiple occasions when your little flames get out of control." Said an irritated grandfather while flashing the blood off his cane.

Christopher's eyes widened after he heard this.

"Do you really think that I wasn't aware of the little fight you had with Voldo. Who do you think you got your abilities from. It runs in the family." After saying this, his grandfather held out a fist, when he opened it he had a large fireball in his palm.

Christopher gazed at the fireball in astonishment. Shortly afterwards his grandfather closed his palm and the fireball disappeared.

"Let me take a look at your nose." Said the man in the coat who didn't look a day over 20.

Christopher placed his hands at his side. Christopher's nose was broken, it shifted in a way that made it look as if his nose was kissing his left eye.

The man in the coat then simply put his hand over his nose for a few seconds. When he removed it, Christopher's nose was back to the way it was before he got slapped.

Christopher was amazed. Before he had a chance to say a word his grandfather walked off heading towards the door.

"Goodbye old friend." Christopher's grandfather waved.

"You better apologize to him and that nurse you disrespected earlier. Or else." He turned to Christopher with a furious look in his eyes and left the hospital.

Christopher turned to the man

"No apology is needed. Hurry up and go catch up to your grandfather. I'll make sure to tell Emma, that nurse you like so much that you're grateful for the hospitality she had shown you." While rushing Christopher out the exit and under the night sky.

Christopher caught up with his grandfather afterwards.

"What exactly is going on here gramps?" He asked his grandfather. You could hear the curiosity in his voice.

"I'm sure you have alot of questions to ask but I'll answer them another time. It's too late for that now." He yawned.

"But ----"

"No more questions." He cut his grandson off.

The travel back home was short and very quiet. As soon as they arrived his grandfather went to bed. However Christopher couldn't sleep. He spent the whole night igniting his flames and altering them in size. At first it was very difficult but he quickly learned how to control them in some sort.

The next morning when Christopher came down from his room he went down and had a bowl of cereal. He assumed his grandfather was fast asleep otherwise he would have been woken by a cane to the face and would have gotten burnt food for breakfast.

He didn't want to wake him up just so he could pester him so he just got ready, took his papers and left for school.

He took the train and got off where he was told. He walked a short distance and saw a large Campus.

"I guess this is the place." He sighed while walking beyond the gates.

He saw alot of students walking about. The sound of a ringing bell quickly spread throughout the campus and all students began making their way to their classes.

"Where is my class. I guess this is what happens when you've missed out a week of school." He mumbled to himself. "I hope someone here knows where my class is"

After a while of wandering about on campus Christopher walked to a closed door.

"This is the class I'm supposed to be in." He pushed open the door and walked inside. The room was filled with awkward silence. The room that had several students seated and a lady behind the teacher's desk, they were all staring at him.

"You're Christopher right? I'm glad you finally decided to join us. Please take an empty seat." Were the first words he had heard after stepping into the class.

He sat down in one of 2 vacant seats that were beside each other.

Shortly after he was seated the sound of racing footsteps were heard in the halls. The classroom door opened and closed in a matter of seconds. Christopher turned towards the door and saw a very familiar face.

In front of the door stood a blonde teenaged boy who was wearing headphones around his neck.

"Sup? Am I late" The blonde asked in a laid back tone.
