(Y/n): Why did you ask me all those questions?

Taiga: That's unimportant.

(Y/n): Why did you write them down?!

You trailed the girl with Ryuuji. Throughout breakfast, Taiga had thoroughly questioned you about your likes and dislikes. Once you figured out the angry little girl wasn't going to tell you, something else came to mind.

(Y/n): Hey... Can I ask you something Ryuuji?

Ryuuji: Sure go ahead.

(Y/n): Why were you bringing Taiga breakfast?

You saw Ryuuji physically stiffen as Taiga glared back at us over her shoulder. There was clearly something here you were missing. Some key detail that probably happened while you were asleep. Like possib-

(Y/n): Are you two dating?

Both of them froze in place.

Ryuuji and Taiga: NO!!!

(Y/n): S-Sorry! I just thought-!

Taiga: Minorin!

Thankfully Minori was walking by and Taiga noticed her.

Minori: You seem to be in a good mood this morning!

The pink haired girl then looked up from Taiga and noticed the both of you.

Minori: Hey Takasu! and you too (Y/n)!

(Y/n): Hey there!

Ryuuji did an awkward wave, but by then Taiga and Minori were moving away.

Minori: See you at school guys.

With that, the two girls disappeared around the corner. You sighed out a breath you didn't know you had held in. Looking over at Ryuuji he looked just as suddenly exhausted.

(Y/n): So... Why were you with Taiga?

Ryuuji shook out of his trance and looked at you.

Ryuuji: It's a long story that I couldn't really tell you right now.

(Y/n): I won't make you say it, but you will tell me eventually. Because you'll forget and I won't so be ready for that day.

Ryuuji: A-Alright?

(Y/n): Now let us get to school!

You began to walk forward with Ryuuji scrambling to follow you.

The gym teacher had been trying to explain what you would be doing when Ryuuji jumped up in front of him.

Ryuuji: Hey Aisaka! You and me!

From behind the group of students, you saw a hand raise and Taiga moved to the front.

Taiga: Sure! I'll be on your team Takasu!

Ryuuji: Sweet.

???: Err... basketball. Nice! Good to see Aisaka and Takasu so pumped!

(Y/n): Why would they pair up?

Minori who was standing next to you seemed just as confused.

Minori: Taiga?

(Y/n): Hmm maybe they really are dating. Oh hey, Minori do you want to partner up?

Minori: Sure that sounds like fun!

You walked to the bin and grabbed a ball. Walking back to Minori you overheard Taiga and Ryuuji talking. Something about him being sexist? You didn't really know.

(Y/n): Catch Minori!

You tossed the ball and it sailed through the air landing in Minori's outstretched hands.

Minori: Ok! My turn! I won't use my thumbs as I... throw it!

Minori tossed it back at you, but it hit the floor halfway towards you and rolled the rest of the way.

Minori turned and brought a hand to her chin.

Minori: Hmmm the road to mastering the thumbless throw is long and hard.

(Y/n): W-What?

Minori: Nah forget about it that was for the folks who get it is all.

There was something weird, but captivating about Minori. You were going to toss the ball back when you looked over and saw both Taiga and Ryuuji were glaring at the two of you. Probably for insinuating they were dating. However, Ryuuji must not have known Taiga's attention was on you rather than him because he was about to hurl the ball at her. You dropped the basketball at your feet and sprinted toward Taiga who was surprised you were approaching her so quickly. Ryuuji threw the ball and it raced toward Taiga at an incredible speed. You managed to reach Taiga and push her out of the way, hoping she would hit the ground softly though you did have to shove her essentially. However, Taiga was the only one able to escape the basketball's fury. The rubber ball hit you squarely on the jaw and cheek, the spinning of the ball definitely causing a small burn as your face turned quickly in the other directions as you flew a bit and hit the ground. That would definitely be a bruise, but at least Taiga wasn't hurt... hopefully.

Ryuuji: (Y/n) are you ok?! I'm really sorry!

You lazily raised your hand up to hold your pained cheek. You put your other hand under yourself and pushed up as you stood up still clutching your cheek.

Minori: (Y/n)!

The pink haired girl rushed over. She pulled on your hand and you reluctantly let her pull it away to reveal the growing bruise.

(Y/n): I'm fine I just need to-

Minori: Go to the nurse! Right!

???: That is a pretty nasty bruise. Ms. Kushieda could you escort Mr. (L/n) to the nurse since this is his first time going?

Minori: Yes sir! Let's go (Y/n)!

The adorable ball of energy gripped your wrist and pulled you along. As Minori dragged you toward the exit to the gym you looked back over your shoulder and saw Eyuuji and Taiga were still focused on you as the other pairs returned to playing basketball. Was something wrong? What was so wrong about you being with Minori? What was so wrong about you wanting to be with Minori?

Minori: Thank you by the way.

(Y/n): What for?

Minori: You raced all the way over there to protect Taiga even though you got hurt. Not many are willing to do that for her.

(Y/n): Well I didn't want her to get hurt.

Minori: Aww you care about her!

You wanted to speak up, but Minori led you into a room. There were beds and various medical supplies scattered around. But any sort of professional was nowhere to be seen.

(Y/n): Where's the nurse?

Minori: Hmm I don't know... Don't worry I'll just make you an ice pack! Now take a seat, sir!

Minori released your wrist to rummage around the room looking for a bag of some sort to hold ice. You watched her move around the room quickly gathering a bag and a towel before filling the bag with ice from the small mini fridge in the corner of the room. Minori closed up the bag and wrapped the bag in the towel before walking back towards you and pressing it against your cheek. You smiled and sighed in relief as your warm skin instantly began to cool.

Minori: Better?

(Y/n): Definetly better.

You reached up to take the pack from her and your fingers grazed Minori's and held there for a moment before fully transferring.

(Y/n): Um... t-thank you for bringing me here. You can go back if you want.

Minori: Nah I'll stay here and make sure you're ok.

(Y/n): But Minori...

There was a moment of silence. The air was tense until Minori spoke.

Minori: You know...

You looked towards her.

Minori: I wouldn't mind if you called me Minorin too.

You both blushed slightly. Really? Did she trust you that much? You've only known each other for like two days! But who were you to argue?

(Y/n): Alright... Minorin.
