Part 3

Yuya's POV

I sat at our dinner table, looking down at my empty plate, my eyes heavy from the lack of sleep. I agreed to meet Yugo at the park today. Why did I do that? I mean, he seems nice but. "I'm not g-"

Before the word left my mouth, sis dropped a plate of pancakes in front of me. "Eat up," she ordered, turning to grab her own plate. "I have to work on my runner today, so it's going to be a long day."

I stayed quiet, taking a bite of my pancakes. Not great, the texture is bad, but the taste is there. I prefer it when mom makes them. I don't like guys, I thought as I took another bite. I have guy friends but nothing romantic. Then again, I never really see any girls romantic either. Okay brain, lets, change the subject. "So, how did you end up duelling in the underground?" I asked as Emi took a seat opposite me.

She took a bite of her stack, chewing as she started to think of her answer. "I had a paper like yours," She explained. "Some jerk tried to hit on me at the bar but the guy with the marks on his face," she pointed to her cheeks, and I nodded. "Saved my ass. They got me a duel runner to try out and since then I've been going every Friday night."

"Is that guy your boyfriend?" Emi coughed, chocking on a piece of pancake. In a panic she got her drink to push the food down. "Or was it the other guy we watched afterwards."

"Neither of them!" She protested shaking her head vigorously, her face a deeper shade then her hair. She coughed, calming herself down before continuing to speak. "They are good duellist, better than anyone in our school. Duelling them is accelerating and fun. Nothing romantic!"

I couldn't help but laugh at my sisters flustered face. There was clearly some form of crush going on but she's always been too shy to admit it. The underground really seems to be an interesting place. Duelling and love. The image of Yugo coming to mind. Arg, stop thinking like that Yuya!

After breakfast we headed to the park that was in the centre of the common's area. My heart skipped upon hearing Yugo before I could see him. I screamed, as he appeared behind me, screaming my name and capturing me in a bear hug. He's so close, my face started to heat up from the blood rush. What do I do? "Yugo," Emi whined, pulling him off me by his ear. "Remember what we talked about?"

Yugo freed himself, puffing out his cheek and sulking. "Respect boundaries," he murmured crossing his arms.

"Don't blame the kid," that laugh. From behind Yugo, Crow appeared. "He's just happy to have a friend his own age now."

Yugo rubbed the back of his neck, looking at my gaze briefly before looking away. "Sorry if I made you uncomfortable."

I shook my head. "It's okay," I assured him. "Actually it's kind of nice to have someone my own age around here too." To be honest, it is nice to have someone my age in the underground duelling arena. Being around so many adults can be a bit intimidating.

"What to go for a ride?" Yugo's mood instantly seemed to brighten up as soon as I had assured him. He used his thumb to point in the direction of bike. He then looked to my sister, with a pleading look. Pouting lip and puppy dogs eyes to get her approval. She shrugged, I think giving up with Yugo's antics.

"Well sis doesn't mind-" before I could finish my sentence he was already dragging me off to the direction of his bike. His bike was really cool. I loved the white that matched his suits and the patterns on it really worked well. Simplistic design that would allow his duelling skills to not be over shadowed. "This is so cool," I awed as I knelt down to get a better look.

I turned to Yugo who's overly excited smile had died down to a nostalgic one. "A friend of mine helped me make this," he started to say, sounded a bit teary. My heart sank, I feel like I've said something I shouldn't have. He shook his head, his smile getting bigger. "Anyway, let's hop on, shall we?"

I nodded, letting him take the lead as I sat behind him. Maybe there's more to Yugo then his big goofy grin.
