58: Want To Cause Some Trouble
"Want to cause some trouble?" You laid your head on Runa's shoulder.
"Because fuck Kaede and fuck Yumemi for asking for Kaede's help?" Runa's evil grin crept onto her face.
"Sometimes you remind me why I asked you on the student council in the first place, Ruru." You used your pet name for her.
"Do you want to tell me where the prez is, then?" She gave you side-eyes, not that you could see.
"Nope." You popped your p as you spoke. "I want you to do something to give Yumeko an advantage."
"In exchange for what?" Runa pushed.
"Nothing. I'm the fucking Princess of Japan. I don't have to exchange, I just tell you to do it. Besides, you get enough pleasure out of being evil." You giggled.
"Oh, you know me so well!" Runa giggled right back. You two didn't share a particularly romantic relationship, but it was definitely a mutually beneficial one.
"And I know you'll handle it." You smiled and stood up with a stretch. "I'll see you at the concert."
"Are you sitting with the council or with your common friends?"
"You know, I hadn't decided yet." You shrugged. "I'll let you know."
"Sit with us, Princess. I'll bring snacks and we'll have our own section. Plus, it's much better to watch sabotage as a pair." Runa pulled out a lollipop and plopped it into her mouth.
"Fine, if you insist." You shrugged again. "Honestly, it doesn't matter to me."
"Oh, before you leave..." Runa pulled the candy out of her lips. "What if Yumemi and Kaede lose? Are you going to write their life plans?"
"It doesn't matter to me." But that time, you didn't mean it.
And with that, you left the room, with that question ringing in your mind.
It was a difficult one. Did it really not matter? You had never really had to write a life plan for a council member, especially not someone who was your friend. There was a lot of things that went into one. Husbands and wives, children, future jobs... how were you going to just choose that for Yumemi? Do you give her a wife because you knew that was her actual preference? Or a husband because you knew that was how she liked to portray herself? Or no one because you knew how confusing that would be for her? But that broke the rules...
How could you possibly choose a wife for Kaede? You had never thought you would be in that position before. And now, you hoped that you would not end up in it either. Your best bet would be to hope that two of your top gamblers would be hindered, but not defeated by the girl that you all called "the viper in the garden".
But what was the most awkward of all, was that you had agreed to sit next to fellow troublemaker Runa, schemer Kaeda and president-back-up Sayaka all at the same time. So who were you really supposed to be rooting for?
At the same time, Runa was leaving a message on Kirari's phone.
"Hello, President? Are you still alive somewhere? Things are getting kind of fun here. You better come back soon or who knows what will happen to our precious school?
