I'm like the grinch

*Rapunzel's POV*
It's been two weeks since our first visit to the orphanage. Every time we go, the longer we stay. I don't have to go everyday anymore, but it's something I look forward to. Things with Tonya have calmed down. Everyone knows what happened and everyone looks at me almost the same. I mean, I did beat her up. Now they know not to mess with me. This weekend is state football. Our team finally made it to state! Of course, all of our families are going down so we can watch the boys play, but I don't know about the others. I'm guessing Merida and Hiccup are going, but I don't know if Elsa and Anna are. I'll ask her during science. "Hey Blondie. What time are we headed over to the orphanage tonight?" Eugene asked as we headed to the science room.

"How about around six?" I asked.

"Alright." Eugene agreed.

"Hey, do you think we could have the others come along?" I asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, we have so fun there. Maybe the others would too."

"You could ask them. I'm sure Kim wouldn't mind a little extra help." Eugene smirked.

"Yeah, she's got her hands full." I giggled. We walked into the science room and set down our books. Hopefully, Mr. Johnson will let us go into groups of three today. I sat down and waited for Adam to join me.

"Hey Rap." Adam greeted.

"Hey Adam. What's up?"

"The ceiling."

"Har har, you're hilarious."

"I know. So, have things gotten better with Tonya?"

"Yes, way better. I never see her or her friends anymore. Which, in all honesty, kind of scares me. But, they never bother me or Jack or Eugene." I rambled.

"Well that's good. Hey, can I ask you something?" Adam asked nervously. What is he going to ask?

"Sure." I replied.

"How do you, ya know, ask a girl out?" Adam asked.

"If you're planning on asking me, it's a no." I smirked.

"No silly. I'm planning on asking someone else." Adam said as he rolled his eyes.

"Ummm, be super sweet. Don't be nervous, but don't be too confident. If you stutter while asking her, it's super cute." I rambled.

"Wait. Wait. Don't be nervous, but don't be confident?" Adam asked.

"Yeah, if you're too confident, it will look like you're after something that she has. But if you're to nervous, then you won't get the words out of your mouth." I answered.

"Got it. Thanks Rap." Adam replied.

"Anytime. And may I ask who you're asking?" I asked.

"Only if you promise to keep it a secret. I trust you and I'm asking her tonight so everyone will find out anyways." Adam replied.

"I promise I won't tell anyone." I giggled. He leaned in close, making sure no one else could hear.

"Belle." He sweetly whispered.

"Awww, you two would be super cute!" I fangirled.

"Shh, keep it down. Are you trying to spill the secret?" Adam teased.

"I'm sorry, it's just too perfect." I awed.

"Alright class. Sorry I was a little late this morning." Mr. Johnson shouted. I looked towards the clock. A little? Like ten minutes! "I don't feel very well this morning so I'm having you get into groups of four and working on a couple pages from the book. I'll let you pick today, but if I find a group I don't like, I will mix it up." Mr. Johnson yelled as he wrote the pages onto the board.

"Want to be together?" I asked Adam.

"Okay." Adam agreed. We quickly ran towards Eugene's and Elsa's table.

"Hey there partners!" I greeted as I dragged Adam along.

"Hey Adam." Eugene greeted.

"Alright, I'll write, Elsa, you read the questions, and you boys will say your answers." I instructed.

"What? We were not smart!" Eugene protested.

"I know you aren't, but I think Adam is." I teased.

"Well gee, that really boosted my confidence level." Eugene sighed as he rolled his eyes.

"I know, I'm a great pep talker. Now get to work." I commanded.

"Alright, what is carbon's atomic number?" Elsa read.

"Umm, four?" Eugene asked.

"No. Try looking at a periodic table." I replied. The boys quickly opened their books and searched for carbon.

"Six!" Eugene yelled. Everyone turned and looked at him. "It's the answer to number one." Eugene whispered to them. Most girls giggled and turned back to their papers. Others just shrugged their shoulders and went back to work.

"Could you have been any louder?" Elsa asked.

"Yes! Wait. No!" Adam and Eugene stuttered.

"That wasn't a question." I giggled as I face palmed.

"Right. We knew that. Right, Eugene?" Adam asked.

"Yeah. We were just testing to see if you knew that." Eugene added.

"Sureee. What compounds can carbon make?" Elsa read.

"Diamond?" Eugene asked, waiting for one of us to yell at him.

"Correct. And?" I asked.

"Yes! Wait. You're not lying to me right?" Eugene asked, searching my face to make sure I wasn't lying.

"Of course not!" I laughed.

"I got one! Graphite!" Adam cheered.

"Yes!" Elsa cheered. "What's lighter? Helium or hydrogen?" Elsa asked.

"Oh that's easy, hydrogen." Eugene chuckled.

"How did you know that? Are you reading these off of someone's page?" I asked.

"One, that's the only one I actually understand. Two, ouch. Why would you think I would cheat?" Eugene laughed.

"You never know." I smirked.

"Next question! Name an alkaline earth metal." Elsa read.

"Silver!" Adam shouted.

"No." Elsa and I replied.

"Gold!" Eugene tried.

"No. Look at the table." Elsa said. They quickly looked through their books.

"Calcium? That's not a metal!" Adam exclaimed.

"Yeah! That's in our bones!" Eugene added.

"Well, it's on there." Elsa answered as I wrote it on the paper. Eventually we finished the assignment and still had a couple minutes left.

"Sooo, Elsa. Are you going to watch state?" I asked.

"I don't know yet. I'm not a big sports fan." Elsa blushed.

"You don't have to be a sports fan to watch state. You just have to be a fan." Adam replied.

"Yeah. You just need to have team spirit. Besides, I can't even remember the last time we won state, so this is a big deal." Eugene added.

"You can ride with me and my mom." I offered.

"I don't know. I'll have to ask my parents." Elsa said.

"Well you better find out soon. State is in two days." Eugene smiled.

"Are you guys going to win?" Elsa asked.

"Of course! No one can defeat the Bulldogs!" Adam cheered.

"Well except for all the teams that bet us every year since the last time we won state." I chuckled.

"I think the last time we won state was in 1994." Adam awkwardly chuckled.

"Yeah. But we are going to win. I can feel it in my veins and my calcium." Eugene said.

"In your calcium?" I asked.

"Saying you feel it in your bones is too cliché. I say I feel it in my calcium, since my bones are made of calcium." Eugene smiled.

"You are too weird." Adam chuckled.

"You just noticed." I teased. Suddenly, the bell rang. We quickly ran to our lockers. As usual, the were the girls flirting with Eugene as we walked down the halls. Eugene would say hi or wink at a few of them.

"Why do you only flirt with a few of them?" I asked.

"I only flirt with the shy ones." Eugene replied.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because they finally got enough courage to get my attention. The others do it everyday so they expect me to reply. The shy ones expect me to skip over them, so I surprise them, try to make their day." Eugene replied.

"Awww, you're such a softy." I teased.

"I am not." Eugene lied.

"Whatever you say." I replied.

"I'm not a softy. I'll have you know that I give no mercy." Eugene teased.

"Maybe on the outside, but in the inside you have a huge heart." I smiled as I poked his chest.

"Nuh uh. I don't have a heart. I'm like the grinch." Eugene chuckled.

"Yeah, after he found out about the true meaning of Christmas. His heart grew three times. Three!" I teased.

"Whatever. Besides, your heart is bigger than that." Eugene replied.

"I know. I'm a softy." I laughed.

"You're a sweetheart." Eugene teased as he bopped my nose. He continued walking to his locker as I unlocked mine.

"Soo, when is he going to ask you out?" Merida teased.

"Phhhh, please. He'll never ask me out. He likes those prettier girls. I'm like a little sister." I answered.

"Sure. Whatever you say Punzie." Merida chuckled.

"I'll ask Kristoff. He'll know." I replied. "Hey Kristoff!" I yelled.

"Rapunzel, I'm right next to you. You don't need to shout." Kristoff replied.

"Sorry. I just need to ask you something." I replied.

"It better not be about the math assignment, because I didn't do it." Kristoff chuckled.

"No silly. Merida thinks that Eugene should ask me out. I told her that he thinks of me like a little sister. What do you think?" I asked.

"Ummm, I know Jack and I think of you as a little sister. But I'm going to have to go along with redhead. You two should go out." Kristoff answered.

"Really?" I asked. In the inside I was screaming with joy. I know he told me at Kristoff's house that he liked me, but I thought he was just saying that so he wouldn't hurt my feelings. After all, he hasn't asked me out yet.

"Seriously." Kristoff laughed.

"Told ya." Merida smirked as he headed towards her next class. I felt a familiar shadow tower of me.

"What did she tell ya?" Eugene asked.

"Ohh, it's nothing. Bye Kristoff!" I replied as I walked with Eugene to history.

"Bye Rapunzel!" Kristoff said as he left his locker open. I quickly ran and slammed it shut so no one would steal anything.

"Told ya you had a huge heart." Eugene smirked.

"I already knew." I laughed. Soon, we took our seats and learned about China.

*Jack's POV*
Tonya has been texting me nonstop since we broke up. This morning, she told me that she wanted to talk with me at lunch and if I agreed, she wouldn't bug me or my friends anymore. I jumped on that train before it could leave the station. I carried my lunch tray outside, trying to sneak past my table of close friends. As I was almost at the door, I heard a familiar voice shouting at me. "Hey Jack! Our table is over here!" Eugene yelled.

"It's been here for three years!" Rapunzel added. I groaned and head back towards the table.

"Where were you going?" Kristoff asked.

"I have to talk with someone." I replied.

"Who?" Merida asked.

"A special person." I replied.

"Jack. Spill. Now." Rapunzel commanded.

"Ya know, you're just like your mom." I teased.

"I know, Eugene tells me everyday. Now spill." Rapunzel replied.

"You're not going to like this." I said.

"Just tell us!" Kristoff whined.

"Tonya." I replied.

"Eww, why?" Rapunzel asked looking horrified.

"Seriously? Why?" Eugene asked.

"Because she wanted to talk about something." I answered.

"God you better not be getting back together with her." Eugene groaned.

"Why? You want to date her?" Kristoff teased.

"Yuck! You, my friend, are disgusting!" Eugene gaged.

"What are you talking about?" Elsa asked with her pleading blue eyes. Over the last couple weeks, I've gotten a little crush over her. It's tiny, nothing major, but it's still there.

"I don't know. But she said that if I talk with her that she'll stop bugging you guys." I smirked.

"Go! Go now!" Rapunzel pleaded.

"Yes! Go! Shoo shoo! Have fun!" Eugene encourage as he waved me away.

"Bye Jack! Don't let her kill you!" Kristoff laughed as I walked out the door. I chuckled and walked towards her table. We were the only ones outside, probably because she wanted to keep it private.

"Alright, Tonya. Let's get this over with." I said as I plopped onto my chair.

"Okay, I want to talk about our relationship." Tonya started.

"What about it?"

"I want to get back together."

"Sorry Tonya. We are done. Finished. Over. Never getting back together." I replied.

"But why Jack? What did I ever do to you?" Tonya asked.

"You made me do things I didn't like, my friends hate you, and you cheated on me with Jacob!" I yelled.

"What didn't you like?" Tonya asked.

"When you made me eat certain foods, go to stupid chick flicks, and go to your dumb concerts." I answered.

"Why would your friends hate me? I never did anything to them." Tonya argued.

"Whatever! You got in a fight with Rapunzel and told everyone that Eugene and you had a 'thing'! How is that nothing?" I yelled.

"I didn't start the fight with Rapunzel!" Tonya argued.

"Right, and I'm the Tooth Fairy. Tonya, everyone saw, everyone heard what you told her. You knew that her father is a rough spot in her heart! You knew that she's been afraid of never finding anyone and you used it against her!" I yelled.

"Whatever Jack. Believe the blonde. They make up everything anyways." Tonya groaned.

"I'm not going over this again." I replied.

"Fine. Next topic. I didn't cheat on you with Jacob." Tonya said.

"Really? Then why does Jacob always tell me about what happened that night?" I asked.

"Nothing happened!" Tonya yelled.

"Nothing happened! You're going to lie to me and tell me that nothing happened. Then why did Eugene get pictures of you two together at Henry's party? He had a picture of you two all over each other! You guys were basically sharing each other's air!" I yelled.

"Eugene got a picture?" Tonya asked.

"Yeah, he did!" I replied.

"No he didn't. He wasn't at that party! He doesn't go to parties!" Tonya shouted.

"Goes to show how much you know about Eugene. Every time there isn't a game and there's a party, he's always there. He saw you flirting with Jacob and wanted me to break up with you. So as soon as he saw you making out with Jacob, he took a picture. I didn't believe it. But Eugene never lies, he wouldn't play a sick joke like that on me!" I yelled.

"Uggh, nothing happened!" Tonya shouted.

"See, this is why we broke up!" I argued.

"I understand. But since you won't go out with me, I'm going to make you an offer you can't refuse." Tonya smirked.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I will stop bugging you and your friends if you get me a boyfriend." Tonya smiled.

"That will be simple." I chuckled.

"Ah, ah, ah. Not just anyone. I want Eugene." Tonya smiled evilly. Eugene!? He would rather die than be seen with her!

"He would never agree. Besides, he likes someone else." I replied.

"I don't care. I just want to date him." Tonya smirked.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because one of my dear friends has a crush on him and I want to break their heart!" Tonya yelled.

"Who?" I growled.

"I'm not telling." Tonya refused.

"Why? You already told me your plan, why not tell me who you're plotting against?" I asked.

"I'll give you a hint. You've been friends with her your whole life. That's all you get." Tonya taunted. A girl I've known my whole life? That could only be...
