5 years later....

Everyone walked down the sidewalk on the cold, December evening in Harrisburg. It was Christmas break for the young adults. Anna was going to school to be an elementary teacher. Kristoff was going to a larger, popular college on a weight lifting scholarship. Jack went to the same school as Kristoff, but on a hockey scholarship. Elsa was going to college across the country on a major in business. Merida was going to a school near Elsa on an archery scholarship. Hiccup was going to school with Anna for a degree in pharmacy. Eugene went to the same college as Elsa for a creative writing. Rapunzel was going to a college a few minutes away from Kristoff and Jack to help her dream of becoming an artist.

"This is nice finally having everyone together." Anna smiled as she held hands with her long distance boyfriend. He smiled as he brought her in close. They didn't live too far away though. Just about six hours was all. Nothing compared to the others.

"No way. I see Elsa and Merida way too much." Eugene teased as he kicked a chuck of snow off the sidewalk. Whether he'd admit or not, he was happy to be with people he knew.

"It's not my fault you picked the same school as me." Elsa laughed as she flipped her hair over her shoulder. She was happy to be back home with Anna and Jack. She missed them terribly. Jack and Elsa were engaged to marry in January, if things go as planned. If not, February.

"I see Jack and Kristoff all the time. I see them more than you!" Rapunzel exclaimed as she pointed to Eugene. Eugene was going to school all the way across the country! She hardly ever saw him except for video chatting.

"Your schools are in the same city!" Eugene laughed as Rapunzel intertwined her fingers with his. She laid her head against his shoulder. She was thrilled to be back with him.

"I see Eugene and Elsa way more than I have to. Usually they make me drive to see them." Merida joined in. Her school was only about a half hour away. She was glad to be near people she could actually stand.

"I see everyone more than I need to." Hiccup chuckled as he wrapped his arm around his wife's shoulder. He didn't live far from Anna or Kristoff, Jack, and Rapunzel. He was about an equal distance away. Almost right in the middle, besides going south a little ways.

"Come on, Hic. You know you love us!" Anna giggled as she playfully shoved him. She was happy to be with everyone again.

"I can't believe it's almost Christmas!" Jack exclaimed. He's always like the winter season. Secretly, he enjoyed watching the sappy Hallmark movies and cuddling by the fire.

"I know right! And I can't believe this is all of our last year in college." Rapunzel awed as Eugene kicked another chuck of snow down the sidewalk.

"Just think, we didn't even met each other until junior year." Kristoff chuckled. They didn't even know each other until then. They had been through so much between and now.

"Me and Jack wouldn't be together." Elsa softly smiled. Jack planted a kiss on her check, making her blush. She couldn't imagine life without him.

Merida impatiently tapped her fingers on her thighs. She hoped Hiccup would like his gift. They sat around their Christmas tree in their teeny tiny apartment. They saved up just enough to have their own place. "Open in it." Merida encouraged.

Hiccup shook the baby blue box complete with a white bow. It looked like it came out of a magazine. It must have been important, because Merida usually didn't try this hard to impress him. Some wrapping paper, usually printed with birthday cakes, were on his Christmas gifts. "What is it?" Hiccup asked. He couldn't hear anything.

"I'm not saying." Merida smirked as she leaned closer to him. She pulled out her phone and started videotaping. Hiccup rolled his eyes and looked her messy red hair. They were still in their pajamas, too excited and lazy to change.

"This is a prank, right?" He sighed. That could be the only reason she would videotape this. Merida wasn't one for videos for family things. She left that to him.

Merida shook her head. "Just open it, you baby!" She laughed. Hiccup groaned and gently tore off the paper, afraid of something happening. "Come on." She encouraged.

"I can never trust you." Hiccup argued. He gently lifted the box, worried that something would jump out at him. As he took off the lid of the cardboard box, nothing happened. He looked at the white and blue tissue paper. He arched his eyebrow, looking at his wife.

"Hic, this isn't a trick. It's Christmas!" Merida exclaimed. Hiccup raised his arms in surrender.

"Okay, okay!" He smiled. He reached his hands in and pulled out a little blue card. He furrowed his eyebrows. He had no idea what it would say. He looked about at the messy red head and flipped the card over.

   Dear Dad,

In the next couple of months, you and Mom will be graduating. Along with your gifts of money and job offerings you'll receive me, a little bundle of joy. I'll fill this tiny apartment with midnight cries and afternoon naps. Can't wait to see you in seven months!

Your son,
                    Haddock Jr.

Hiccup's jaw dropped as he looked at the card and his wife. She couldn't help but laugh at his expression. His green eyes were as wide as saucers. "You're pregnant?" He stammered. Merida nodded her head. Hiccup ran over and gave her hug and kissed her stomach. This was the best Christmas ever.

"Rapunzel, hurry up!" Eugene called up the stairs at her mom's house. He had been waiting for her for ten minutes.

"I'm trying, I'm trying!" She yelled back. He groaned and sat back on the couch. Regina was happily cooking in the kitchen, listening to them argue.

"She takes a while, Eug." Regina chuckled. Eugene nodded his head. He couldn't agree more with her. Rapunzel loved taking her's and other's time. But it was okay, because he would wait for her forever. Eventually, Rapunzel ran down the stairs, into the living room.

"Ready?" She asked, all dolled up. She felt like tonight was a special night. Why not? Eugene nodded his head and quickly stood up.

"Bye!" They called as they exited. They huddled together towards his truck. His dusty truck that he's had since freshman year. They hopped in and drove to their favorite restaurant. The Snuggly Duckling. As they drove down the snow covered highway, they talked about what was new in their lives.

"So my crummy teacher told me to draw a bird. A flipping bird! Birds don't have any significance in my life!" Rapunzel ranted. Eugene nodded his head, acting like he agreed with her, even though he didn't. A bird meant a lot in her life, from his writing point of view at least. It was her symbol of freedom, but she was always right, so better to agree than argue.

"Should have drawn a flower." He chuckled as they pulled into the torn up parking lot. Most people wouldn't dare enter the Snuggly Duckling. It full of the roughest and toughest men.

"I did. A nice, golden flower. Like you said last month. It actually turned out beautiful." Rapunzel smiled. She was pleased with his decision, but she couldn't place where he came up with the idea. But that was who he was.

They entered the restaurant, all eyes on them. The smell of alcohol and smoke filled their lungs. It brought back lots of memories. Mostly good ones, but a few they would rather forget. "Rapunzel! And Rapunzel's boyfriend!" Hank greeted. Eugene frowned, unimpressed with his nickname this time.

"Hank!" Rapunzel smiled as she ran to give the frightening man a hug. Eugene rocked on his heels, listening to them talk like old friends. It was Rapunzel that let them eat there. She had mended the heart of the grumpy pianist named Hank.

"I'll take you to the finest table, if that's okay with pretty boy." Hank winked as he led them to the candle lit table. Eugene rolled his eyes and playfully sighed. He knew they were just kidding. They took their seats, ready to be served.

After their meal, Eugene fumbled around in his pocket. Tonight was perfect. "Do you think Elsa and Jack will get married in January?" Rapunzel asked. She hoped the weather would be nice enough, but you could never tell.

"Actually, Rapunzel, there's something I want to ask you," Eugene mumbled. Rapunzel looked at her nervous boyfriend kneeling to the floor. "Rapunzel Lynn, will you marry me?" He questioned. Rapunzel's eyes went wide as her mouth formed a little 'o'.

She was silent for a while, taking everything in. She was taking too long. Eugene groaned and slammed the case shut. "Eugene-" Rapunzel started as he stood up.

"No, Rap, it's cool. I understand that you still want to live your life. I mean-haha-I love being rejected three times. I think it's my new favorite feeling." Eugene rambled as he ran his hand through hair. He had asked her to marry him three times now. Every time, she's said no for various reasons Eugene didn't bother to listen to.

"Eugene-" Rapunzel started, placing her hand over his. He groaned and rolled his eyes.

"If it's a money issue, How To Train Your Dragon is doing great. I'm making money so fast that I can hardly keep track of it. Plus, they just accepted Tangled in case you were wondering. That should do great, too. I'm almost done with Brave-" Eugene explained. His books were doing so well, at least he thought so. Why was she do this to him?

"Eugene!" Rapunzel cried. Everyone stopped and looked at the couple. The anxious boyfriend looking distressed. The guilty girlfriend, trying to comfort him. They always looked like this. She didn't want to settle down yet and he wanted to make sure she didn't get away. He didn't want to lose her.

"What?" He panted with sadness in his eyes. She must like breaking his heart a lot because now everyone was watching, pity on their faces. Her pink lips turned into a smile. Her green eyes sparkled brighter than the candles around their table. Ironically, he thought she more stunning tonight then she ever has.

"Yes."

"Yes what? It's a money issue? Look, I've got-"

"No, no. I'm saying yes. Yes, I'll marry you, Eugene Fitzherbert." Rapunzel finished. Eugene's eyes lit up. His lips turned into a large grin. He jumped up from his chair, knocking it over. Everyone held their breath. She'd finally agreed. They couldn't believe their eyes.

"Yes?" He asked. She nodded her head and laughed. "Yes! She's finally agreed! It's a Christmas miracle!" Eugene shouted, echoing off the walls. Everyone cheered, happy for the couple. All the tough, old guys even had tears in their eyes. They were hard core shippers of the two. They had always been fond of the young couple.

Eugene grabbed Rapunzel and brought her close. She dipped him, making everyone laugh. She had him wrapped around her finger. He smirked as their lips moved towards each like magnets. Everyone cheered as they shared a large passionate kiss. They knew the couple would live happily ever after.
