Distraction
America was distracted.
He taped his fingers on the meeting table, head resting on the other hand under his chin. Across the table, was England. He just couldn't stop staring. England had decided to sit with Japan that day, which for some reason, bothered him immensely. He wanted, no, needed to be near him. He wanted to hug him, he wanted to burry his face in his neck and hold on forever, to smell the earl grey on his breath when he spoke. America never admitted this to himself, he was happy where he was. He never put much thought to how he he thought of England, and honestly, he was afraid too.
England's hair was standing on end. Curious, he looked around, only to meet Americas gaze from across the table. -Why is that git staring at me like that! God it's creepy! shivered, turning his attention back to Germany. But he couldn't seem to focus with America staring at him like that. England kept glancing back to the American, checking if he is still staring. He was, and he didn't stop. England shifted in his seat, shoulders stiff, hands in his lap, his posture tense, knowing he was being watched. Every move of his was seen, and carefully deciphered.
Germany felt like no one was paying attention. -Damn it! We're not going to get any thing done!-. Having enough, Germany shouted out at the other countries, gaining their attention. "For gods sake if none of you idiots are going to pay attention, we might as well be sleeping!" Germany half expected a sly comment from America, something about sleep, but only got him staring off. "WE WILL TAKE A 30 MINUET BREAK. NO MORE, NO LESS!" Germany shouted.
Upon dismissal England almost jumped out of his seat, hurriedly walking out of the room, only wanting to break that unnerving stare. He sighed when he left the room, feeling some tension ease off his shoulders. England moved down the hallway to a break room. Before he could put his hand on the doorknob he felt arms snake around his waist, and pull him to a bench, on the opposite side of the hall. Eyes wide, he turned his head to see America. He was sitting.....in..HIS LAP. England's face turned red, as he flailed around, trying to get out of Americas inhuman grip.
America chuckled. God he was cute when he was mad. Having enough fun he let him go. Watching the older nation stumble out of his lap and stand in a defensive stance. Gasping for air, face red, eyes wide. Yep. He was cute. -too cute- America thought. America got up from the bench and put his hands in his pockets, smiling like the 'idiot' he was. England backed up a bit, actually, bumping into Japan while doing so.
He turned around, and apologized, embarrassed. Japan bowed, and apologized as well. "Gomen~....Herro Engrand-San, America-San." He greeted them.
"Oh, Japan, I was just about to make some tea...would you, like to join me?" England offered. Japan nodded. America was confused, and a bit hurt. -why didn't he invite me?- America thought.
America poked England on the arm, gaining the nations attention. "Hey dude, why didn't you invite me?!" He whined. England sighed.
"Well, idiot. For one, you don't like tea. For two you would have come whether I asked you or not." England finished and walked into the empty break room with Japan. America sighed with a smile, and followed the two into the room. America sat down at the table next to England. And then he scooted closer, too close in England's mind. Their legs were touching. Feeling a bit uncomfortable, England got up quickly and went to make the tea. America let his thoughts drift off. He didn't realize he was staring at Japan until he cleared his throat. "... Huh?" Alfred said, sitting up and apologizing.
"America-San, you were rooking at me so irritated. Did I do something to disprease you?." Japan stated, unnerved. America shook his head and apologized again. He didn't really want to hurt Japan, they were friends! But, he didn't want him to be friends with England. Iggy was his. Right? America shook the thoughts out of his head when England sat back down, scooting away slightly, from America.
England was a bit unnerved at the Americans strange behaviour. While America was feeling lost, confused, and scared. America looked at England with lust filled eyes. England shuddered under his stares. 'What the bloody hell is wrong with him today...' England thought worriedly.
