TOO MUCH SNOW
Not more snow!
How I wish
It would go!
Far too much!
I have had enough!
The roads are so rough!
Shoveling is tough!
It's getting heavy
And sticky like dough,
Hard to push and tow.
I'm starting to envy
That Dale next door
His huge snow blower
And big four by four;
No offers to help
Just drives right on by
Even avoids looking
Me straight in the eye.
Shoots snow onto our lawn
Oh, dear, why was he born?
He also ignores
My dear friend, Rose,
Drives by her house.
He's such a louse!
Two years ago
She was so low
From her heart attack
But God brought her back.
Dale watched her shovel,
Liked to let her grovel
To beg for some help.
He's slimier than kelp.
When The City plow
Does our cul-de-sac
Dale sneaks to his shed
That is out the back
Where he stores his blower
Near my writing shack.
It starts with a pull
And an engine roar,
Even noisier
Than his four by four.
I have to shovel so hard
While he simply blows his yard.
Snow's getting me down.
I'm starting to frown.
I'm stooped like a bow.
It's aging me so.
Please, warm wind,
I'm begging, you know.
Do try hard to blow.
Can you hear me so?
Do you really know
How to make snow go?
I'm ever so tired
Of too much snow!
Are you my friend
Or are you my foe?
