The Other Crew
Ahsoka was already waiting for Kanan with the other crew. She was constantly talking to them about how experienced and strong Kanan was to help him make a good first impression. They heard The Phantom connect to the headquarters and the doors opened. Soon, Kanan emerged from his ship and saw the other crew and Ahsoka.
The crew before him consisted of a Togruta man, a stunning Hapan woman, and a male Rhodian. An immediate thought entered Kanan's head: Different. Almost too different. Of course, he was going to give them a chance.
"Pawa, Aura, Xenior, this is Kanan Jarrus," Ahsoka smiled.
"Hi. Nice to meet you all," Kanan greeted them.
"Kanan, we've heard so many things about you," Aura, the Hapan woman said. "We can't wait to work with you!"
Ahsoka left them alone to speak in a private room. Kanan thought they had a strange conversation, strange to him anyway. This new crew was so similar to The Ghost. Aura can fly many types of ships—like Hera. Pawa, the Rhodian, is a weapons and technology specialist—like Sabine and Chopper. Xenior, the Togruta man, is extremely strong and brave—like Zeb. But they weren't exactly the same. But in a way, he enjoyed it. It was something different.
Aura was alluring to him. She reminded him of Hera a little. She also seemed like a good leader and pilot. But she wasn't as daring and adamant as Hera, which is something Kanan would have to get used to. Pawa isn't like Sabine at all. He isn't fond of extravagant colors. Also, Xenior and Zeb are completely separate. They're completely different species and unlike Togrutas, the Lasats are near extinction with Zeb being one of the last ones alive.
However, it was strange how much Kanan liked this new crew. They were so different from The Ghost crew that it offered a new journey and share of experience. The visit lasted for hours and time flew by. If Ahsoka hadn't reminded them of the time, Kanan would have never left.

Hera was shocked to hear the news from Ahsoka. The fact that Kanan was gone so long surprised her and she immediately knew that Kanan would be leaving.
"He'll be back soon. But he won't be staying for long," Rex thought out loud.
"I can't believe this is happening...," Zeb sighed.
"Kanan said he was doubting it, though," Sabine added.
"Kanan says a lot of things," Hera grimly said.
Suddenly, the door opened and everyone turned their heads to see Kanan slowly approaching with a sly grin on his face. He had a much more confident and boastful jump in his step as he walked toward his crew.
"Good news, I surmise?" Hera asked with her arms crossed.
"Of course! What else?" Kanan said. "I'm psyched to go on this mission!"
His crew looked up at him with solemn and blank expressions. Kanan felt oddly distant from his crew. Sabine, Zeb, and Rex turned away from him as Hera continued to stare at him. Her expression was far more worrisome. Her green eyes pierced his heart as he returned to expression.
"What? Did I say something wrong?" Kanan inquired.
"No," Hera replied. "The Ghost has been having small malfunctions while you were gone, though; I'm going to run diagnostics."
"Wait!"—Hera turned around and glared at Kanan—"Where's Ezra? I want to talk to him and do some training."
"He's sleeping. Rex did some intense training with him while you were gone. Do your training later."
Kanan was surprised to hear Hera's harsh words. He watched her walk away. His eyes wandered over to Sabine, Zeb, and Rex, who stood there silently eavesdropping on the dramatic scene between him and Hera.
"Did I do something to her?" Kanan asked them. "I haven't done anything!"
"Exactly," they all said in unison.
"What do you guys mean? What has happened when I was gone?"
"You have no idea," Sabine muttered.
Kanan froze and then a pulse in the force abruptly reminded him of Ezra.
