Toya

Luckie has to go back out of town this week and I was so skeptical about him going. Although I told him I needed my space and that we were done he's still MINE and will always be.

I sunk my body into the tub and closed my eyes and begin rubbing my stomach. I couldn't wait to have my baby. Today we were going to my OB/GYN for my 16-week check up.

I'm ready to see Isaiah's reaction while hearing the heartbeat for the first time; the first time I heard it I cried. I wonder if he will do the same.

I heard a knock on the bedroom door. "Come in" I said loud enough for him to hear me. He walked into the bathroom.

"You know you don't have to knock right" I asked tilting my head to look at him.

"Nah ma, this your space. I just need to grab some shoes out the closet and to ask what time we need to leave out" he replied looking into my eyes.

I immediately got loss in his greenish grey eyes, the sun was rising so the glow from it showed the color well. I silently prayed that our baby would come out with the same color.

"Toya?" he called snapping me out of my trance.

"Hmm" I replied

"Did you hear me?"

"Yes, the appointment is at 11, so we need to leave by 10:15, no later than10:20."

"Okay well I'm already dressed so I'll start on you some breakfast because I know you haven't ate."

I smiled; "thank you"

"Ain't shit" he walked over and kissed my forehead. "I love you" He said looking into my eyes.

"I love you more"

"I love you forever"

My heart fluttered; "forever and ever?"

"Forever and ever" He replied.

We gazed into each other's eyes until he stood straight up and cleared his throat. "What you got a taste for" he asked walking into his closet.

I took this time to drain the tub and step into the shower. "It doesn't matter I'm not that hungry anyways"

"You gotta feed my baby" he said as he stood at the shower door.

I rolled my eyes; "just make whatever"

"Alright"

20 minutes later I got out of the shower and walked into my closet to find something to wear. I decided on some black leggings, a white tank top, a yellow jacket & some yellow Versace Medusa slides. I grabbed my yellow Versace shoulder bag and carried everything to the room.

I applied Shea butter to my skin and extra to my stomach and got dressed. I sprayed my body with perfume and exited the room.

I walked down the stairs and Luckie already had my breakfast waiting. He made eggs, bacon, and wheat toast. He also had me some fruit, granola, yogurt, and orange juice.

Checking the time I saw it was 9:45, I texted him;

Me : "Can you come upstairs please"

BabyDaddy👪 : "Yea, here I come"

Less than a minute later he was walking down the hall that lead to the basement. "What's up?"

I played with the strands of my hair as I chewed on some bacon. "I just wanted you in my space" I said quietly.

He chuckled and sat at the table next to me. We sat in a comfortable silence until I was done eating. By the time I was done it was going on 10:15 so we decided to go ahead and head out.

"I wanna ride in the Benz truck"

"That's cool"  he grabbed the keys, opened the car door for me, and helped me inside.

"Thank you"

"Welcome" he replied closing the door and walked to the other side. I miss the old us, this shit was getting so old. I truly didn't know what I wanted to do but I did know that I couldn't see him with anyone else.

We've been together so long that I couldn't even see myself with anyone else but he betrayed my trust. I sighed deeply.

"You iight Toya?"

"I'm fine"

We pulled up to the doctors' office at 10:45, he exited the car and came around to help me out. We walked into the doctors' office; "go sit, I'll check us in" Isaiah stated.

I nodded and went to find us some seats. I grabbed a magazine and begin to look through it. He sat next to me and handed me the paper work to fill out. "When you finish hand it back to me, I'll take it back up there"

"Isaiah I'm pregnant not handicapped" I mugged him.

He raised his hands in surrender; "aight, I was just trying to help"

I ignored him and finished filling out the papers. I just got irritated out of no where, I hated the way this shit was. I needed him to love on me, I needed him to be sleeping next to me every night and the fact that he wasn't doing either pissed me off in this moment.

I got up to return the paperwork until he softly grabbed my arm; "I understand you mad and shit, but I got this." He grabbed the papers and walked to the counter.

He returned and sat next to me and leaned his head back against the wall. I just stared at him; I wanted to stab his ass and fuck him all at the same time.

Fucking hormones.

"LaToya Johnson" the nurse called from a side door. We both got up and headed to the back.

"How are you Ms Johnson?" the nurse asked

"I'm good and you?"

"I'm doing fine thank you, let me have you step up here so that I can take your height and weight" I did as she asked.

"Okay step down, hhmmmm Ms Johnson you've actually loss weight since the last time we saw you, are you eating properly?" she asked

"Not really, I haven't had an appetite" I replied truthfully.

"Okay we're gonna talk to your OB about that, let me take your blood pressure. Can you sit here please" she pointed towards a chair.

Once I sat down she placed the strap around my arm and turned the machine on. Once it was done she typed the info into the computer.

"Okay follow me" She lead us into a room and had me sit on the table. "Your OB will be in here shortly" she smiled.

"Thank you" Isaiah and I said in unison. She nodded an left out of the door, closing it behind herself.

"Why you so quiet?" I asked Luckie

"No reason, I just know you were irritated so I just didn't wanna say anything to make it worse" he said looking into my eyes. He's had a habit of doing that lately.

"I'm fine" I smiled weakly

"You're not but ok." He replied. Before I could say anything else our OB walked in.

"How you doing Ms Johnson, are we ready to see your peanut?" She asked nicely looking from me to Isaiah.

"Yes ma'am, I'm fine and you"

"I'm good. The nurse told me that you haven't had an appetite is that correct?"

"Yes ma'am"

Nodding she said;  "and also you have high blood pressure. Your blood pressure is moderately high being 150/100."

Isaiah became very attentive when she said that. "We're gonna check on the baby to see how he or she is doing then we will go from there ok. You wanted a 3-D ultrasound correct?"

"Yes"

"Okay lay back for me and lift your shirt." I did as she asked. 

"This is gonna be a little cold ok"

"Ok."  She placed the gel on my stomach and moved the transducer around to find the baby. Shortly the silent room was filled with a strong heart beat. Tears immediately came to my eyes.

I looked to my side to see that Isaiah was standing right next to me watching the screen. He had tears in his eyes also. "Would you guise like pictures?" she asked

"Yes"  we said in unison. She nodded.

"Sssooo here's your baby, the heartbeat sounds strong and everything looks good"
the OB said as she begin to wipe the gel off my stomach.

"Thank you"

"No problem, also we need you to stay out of stressful situations to get that blood pressure back to normal. If you continue to have a loss of appetite try making a smoothie and drink that so that you can at least have something on your stomach."

I nodded my understanding. "I will be right back with your pictures"

She walked out of the room and I released a breath I didn't know I was holding.

I looked over at Luckie who had his head in his hands. I stood over him and looked at him. Once he raised his head I could see the tears falling from his eyes. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"That was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Thank you Toya for blessing me with my first child but I fucked up, it's my fault your blood pressure high." He said sighing deeply

"You're welcome and I forgive you" I kissed his cheek as the doctor walked back in.

"Here are your photos." she handed us each some pictures.

"Ms Johnson please be sure to set up your next appointment at the receptionist desk for next month. We will be determining the gender. Would you guise like to know at the appointment or would you like to wait?"

"We would like to know at the appointment" I replied.

"Okay that is awesome, we are finished here today. You guise have a lovely day."

"Thank you and we will schedule the new appointment. Have a great day"

Luckie held the door open for me as I exited the room and walked towards the waiting area. We scheduled my next appointment and left out.

"You hungry" he asked me.

"Yes" I smiled

Chuckling he said; "so you forgive me huh?"

"Yes I do, but we still need to build that trust back"

He nodded and opened my door for me helping me inside. "I can do that, whatever you want me to do, I'll do it"

I smiled. "Thank you"

"For what? I should be thanking you" He replied with a confused look on his face.

"For blessing me with this child and being patient with me"

He hopped back into the car. "Ain't shit. I know I fucked up but I promise you I learned my lesson. I'm going out of town for a show, I want you to come with me."

"When are you leaving?"

"Next week, we will only be gone two days"

I thought it over and shrugged; "Okay I'll go with you. I ain't dealing with no groupie hoes so keep them under control" I said rubbing my tummy.

"I got you LaToya, plus I will have double the security now that you and my baby coming"

I giggled. "Well okay"

"What you wanna eat?"

"I wanna go sit down somewhere, let's go to La Parilla, I would like some tacos" I said as my mouth watered.

"Well tacos it is" he replied as he headed towards the expressway.
