It was Friday so that meant it was Kiari and I date night. We decided when we first started talking that every Friday would be dedicated to each other since we both had busy schedules.

I was currently sitting in my office at the hookah lounge, I opened it up a month ago and it's doing better than I thought.

So many thoughts were running through my mind right now. I wanted to make tonight special for Ri and I, maybe make it official?

She is truly the best woman I've ever encountered, besides my mother. She's smart, beautiful, a great listener, an even better communicator, and she don't take shit from nobody. That was my type of woman.

Her banana head ass brother done came around. Him and I got cool af, along with Tango and Jase. We go out once every two weeks to have a guys night at different spots around the A.

Speaking of this man, I owed him an ass whoopin' for losing his god damn mind. I had stopped by Ri house one day earlier this week and saw that Toya was there. I asked her what was up and why she wasn't home; all she said was "fuck Isaiah lil dick ass" and mugged the fuck outta me.

I called his ass to see what was up. At first he didn't wanna tell me. He eventually told me about his lil side bitch and how he got caught up. I was finna curse his ass out but the way he was sounding I already knew he was going through it so I let him have it.

That was until Ri hit me up today letting me know that she wanted to chill in the house for our date tonight; I asked her was she sure because Toya was still over there. That's when she let me know that she had went home today. So that was my cue to beat his ass now since he should be in good spirits.

I wrapped up in my office and headed out. I walked over to the bar and handed the bartender some ones for the night so that she would have enough change and I wouldn't have to come back.

"Thanks boss, have a good night" Jaslyn said.

"Good night, call me if you need me" I said as I headed towards the door. Jaslyn was a cool chick, she let me know that she was back and forth between here and Florida and that she just needed a weekend job. I went ahead and hired her based off of her experience in the night life and off the strength that her brother was cool peoples.

At first I was skeptical because she is Keasia best friend but what me and her had going on ain't have shit to do with her. As long as she kept this shit business, I was cool.

Walking to my car I felt like someone was following me. I gripped the gun that rested in my waist and turned slowly, only to be staring into the eyes of Keasia crazy ass.

Speaking of the devil.

"What the fuck bruh, how many times I gotta threaten to kill yo ass before you actually believe I'll do the shit" I mugged her.

Stepping close to me she said "Jasper I just need to talk to you"

"We ain't got shit to talk about" I said and continued in the direction of my car.

I could hear her footsteps behind me. "You mean to tell me you don't love me anymore AT ALL, like for real? This bitch got your head so gone that you forgot who held you down all them years!" She yelled

I looked around the parking lot to make sure nobody could hear her nut ass. The last thing I needed was for some nosey ass bitch to run back and tell Ri she saw me arguing with a hoe in the parking lot.

Turning around I chuckled, "held me down? Bitch the only thing you held down all them years was other niggas dick down ya throat. Then you got pregnant, had me all hype to be a father, just for me to catch you with another nigga. My best friend at that"

She eyed me viciously.

"Jasper he didn't me-"

"Mean shit to you, yeah sing that song again. You wanted a drug dealing ass nigga right? One that beat ya ass, made you sale ya pussy to show him you love him? All while I was in college trying to make a living for us. To get US out the hell holes we was in. You got some nerve coming around now trying to guilt trip me. You made me think that baby was mine!" I yelled at her.

She jumped back as tears slid down her face.

"Now imma tell you this one more time, STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME AND KIARI. Or I will kill you with no hesitation, you got that?"

She just stared at me.

With that I walked away, hopped in my car and pulled off. I made it a half a block before I pulled over to the side of the road. I begin to beat my hands on the steering wheel.

"FUCK ! FUCK ! FFUUCCKK!" I yelled out in frustration. Just then my phone rung, it was Kiari. Taking a deep breath I answered the phone.

Kiari: "Hey baby are you on your way over" she asked as soon as I said hello.

"Yea I'm heading to the house now to shower and change and I will be there" I replied as I pulled back onto the road.

Kiari: "Okay hurry because I'm missing you"

I could tell she was pouting, "Aye cut that shit out"

Kiari: "Wwhhaatt?" She giggles

"That pouting shit, you know I don't like when you do that"

Kiari: "Well hurry and I won't have to pout"

"Yea Yea, imma be there in like a hour, you gone have me some food ready?"

Kiari: "Didn't I say I was Jasper"

"Keep getting smart" I said chuckling

Kiari: "K baby let me get back to cooking, I'll see you in a hour" she replied.

"Alright queen, I'll see you" with that we ended our call. I connected my phone to the Bluetooth and drove 80 all the way home.

Pulling down my driveway I nodded at the guards and entered the garage. I walked in and turned off the alarm, dropping the keys into the basket on the side table.

I was greeted by Midnight and Oreo as always, I rubbed on them and kissed their heads then made my way up the stairs. I entered into my closet to see what I was gonna throw on.

I decided to just throw on some all black and add some jewelry since we wasn't really going anywhere. I hopped in the shower, washed my body, and got out. I got dressed and headed down the stairs.

I made sure to feed the dogs and set the alarm before heading to my girl house. On the way to Kiari house I kept thinking on whether or not I wanted to ask her to officially be my girlfriend tonight or not.

It's been 3 months and some change, I needed her to be mine already. Approaching the stop light I reached into the glove compartment and grabbed the tiny pink box. I opened it and looked at the diamond promise ring I got her earlier today.

I took a deep breath and placed it into my pocket, pulling off as the light turned green. 15 minutes later I was turning into her parking garage parking in one of the visitors' spaces.

I approached the elevator and rode up to her floor. Once I got off the elevator I nodded at Strap as he opened his apartment door letting me know that he saw me on his camera.

I knocked on Kiari's door and waited for her to come. I shifted my weight as I felt myself growing nervous.

"Hey bae" she smiled as she opened the door wider for me to enter.

"Hey beautiful, I missed you " I replied as I hugged her tightly.

"I missed you too"

As we walked into her condo I noticed that she was wearing all black like me. "Look at you trying to be like daddy" I whispered into her ear as I held her from behind.

She squirmed under my touch, "boy hush" she giggled hitting my chest.

"So what you cooked up for ya man, cause I'm hungry then a bitch" I said walking into her kitchen and lifting the pot tops.

"First of all , get ya nasty hands off my pots" she said as she popped my hand like she was my mama.

"Second of all go wash your hands and have a seat. I will bring your food to you."

I did as told and walked towards the hall bathroom to wash my hands. When I finished I pulled the box out of my pocket and looked at it again. "I hope she likes this"

Taking a deep breath I walked out and took my seat at the set table. My baby went all the way out for our date night.

"Here you go baby, I made your favorite; surf and turf, Mac and cheese, and asparagus." she stated as she entered the dining room.

She sat the plate down in front of me and that's when I knew; I was definitely asking her to be my girlfriend tonight.

"Damn ma, this shit look good as fuck" I said standing up to pull her chair out for her.

"Thank you baby, I hope you like it" she smiled sheepishly.

Damn, I knew from jump that she was wife material but now this solidified it. I poured us both a glass of wine and grabbed her hands in mine so that we could say grace.

"Thank you Lord, for the food we are about to receive, and for the nourishment to our bodies. For Christ's sake, Amen." I recited.

"Amen" she replied as she looked into my eyes.

"Damn girl, who taught you how to cook like this" I said as I bit into the steak.

She giggled "My grandma taught me, I'm guessing you like it?" she asked as she tilted her head.

"I love it, keep cooking like this and you will never get rid of me"

"Who says I want to?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Damn that caught me off guard. "Well good because I don't wanna get rid of you either Kiari" I replied looking into her eyes.

This was my moment. I grabbed my napkin off of my lap and placed it onto the table. "Baby can I ask you something?"

"Yes handsome?" She asked as she bit into her asparagus.

I reached into my pocket, grabbed the box, and walked over to her side of the table.

Gasping she said "Jasper what's this?" as she eyed the small pink box in my hand.

I kneeled before her and looked her dead in the eyes. "Kiari, from the first night I saw you at the bar I knew I wanted you to be mine. These past 3 months have been the best of my life. I can't see my life without you and I don't want to."

I paused to allow my words to sink in. I could literally see her heart beating out of her chest and her eyes begin to tear up.

"Kiari Erin Smith, will you do the honors of being my girlfriend? I promise to love and cherish you like the queen you are." I asked

The tears were now racing down her cheeks rapidly so I reached up to wipe them.

"Why you crying ma?" I asked continuing to wipe the flowing tears from her face.

"I'm speechless Jasper, I don't know what to say" she replied. 

"Just say what's in here" I pointed to her heart.

She smiled "Yes Jasper Adams I will be your girlfriend"

I placed the ring on the ring finger of her right hand. She immediately showered me with kisses.

"What took you so long, I've been waiting so long for you to ask me" she said snuggling into my neck.

Chuckling I said "I just thought you needed time"

"It's beautiful" she admired the ring.

"I'm glad you love it, now let's finish this delicious dinner you made for us"

She kissed my lips passionately one last time before I walked back to my side of the table.

We both started to eat again as I thought to myself; I finally got my Queen and I'll do anything to keep her happy and safe. Even if that meant killing the crazy bitch Keasia!
