office

"You got fathers message right?" Azula walked up to her brother as he was waiting for Katara outside to take her down town.

"Yep," he lit a cigarette.

"You sound like your not coming," she crossed her arms frowning.

  "Bingo," Zuko nodded inhaling.

"Don't be a baby Zuzu, just come to the meeting, or are you scared of attending now?" Azula leaned against the wall rolling her eyes, Zuko looked at her flatly.

And blew smoke in her face.

"I don't like wasting my time," he told her simply.

"you think he's not going to keep texting and calling you?" She scoffed waving the smoke out of her face.

"I don't care, lets see how far he'll go, I'm curious at this point," Zuko shrugged a little as he flicked the end of his cigarette off.

"Just come for a little, it's not a big deal, and do wear something other than that, a nice shirt would do," azula rolled her eyes again at him as she saw Katara walking over.

"You don't need to make dad embarrassed if you wore that," she looked him up and down as Zuko glared at her.

"I'm not promising anything," Zuko frowned.

"Do tell dad that I hope I didn't disappoint him for not showing up,"

"Don't be petty, your so sensitive," she waved him off turning her back.

"Everything okay out here?" Katara walked next to Zuko as she had the leather jacket on.

"Fine," Azula smiled.

"I'll see you at dinner tonight Zuzu," she hummed walking away as Zuko threw the cigarette on the ground and crushed it.

"What was that?" Katara asked, it was never good when Azula and Zuko were together.

"My father wants me to come over tonight, it's not a big deal," Zuko shrugged as they walked to the motorcycle.

"I thought you didn't talk to your dad?" Katara made a face.

"I don't, he found my number somehow and already knows where I live," Zuko told her as she didn't seem so sure about that.

"Is that okay?" She asked uneasy.

"No, probably going to change my number tomorrow anyways," he shrugged it off.

"Why won't you talk to your dad? I wish I could talk to mine but he's over seas," Katara said gently and Zuko shook his head.

"My dads not a good person, he's done some bad things," Zuko sighed.

"Would you ever try forgiving him?" She asked with a soft smile.

"I wouldn't even give him the chance," he snorted.

"But why? He's your father," Katara almost pleaded but Zuko stopped with a heavy sigh.

"I don't think men who hit children deserve forgiveness," he said in a calm voice looking at her unamused.

"O-oh, Sorry," Katara turned red and followed behind him now.

"It's fine, you don't know stuff like that, it's just a reason I'm living with uncle," Zuko looked behind him seeing her feeling guilty.

"What about Azula?" Katara gasped remembering she lived with the man.

"Only yelled at her a few times but hasn't hit her, says she's a prodigy, said that she was born lucky, and I was lucky to be born," Zuko explained simply as he walked slower to be next to her again.

"That's shitty of him," Katara looked at the ground. He smiled.

"You don't know the half of it," he chuckled.

"Hey sorry I haven't called you in a while," Jin was on the other line as Zuko was as walking on the sidewalk with the sun just going down.

"No worries, I get you're busy," Zuko smiled a little. He missed her voice.

"Yea I took extra shifts at my job, I think I'm gonna save up to come to America for a week!" Jin squealed excited and Zuko smiled more.

"Seriously?" He laughed relieved.

"Yes! I'm not very far though, I just started saving when you left so I don't have much," she said a little sadder about it but still thrilled.

"Don't worry about it, take your time since ill be in school still, I think Christmas break might be a good time," he offered as a group of business men passed by him, giving him a look.

"I wanted it to be a surprise but I was so excited," Jin giggled a little and he smiled to himself stopping by a building.

"It's good to know, I really miss you," Zuko gulped a little leaning against the building.

"I miss you too man, how's everything with your dad?" Jin asked gently.

"It's fine, I've been doing good," he pursed his lips a little.

"And how's your new lady friend?" She teased.

"I'm opening up," he admitted. "A-and she made me hang out with some of her other friends, I don't think her brother likes me very much,"

"Uh oh? What did you do?" Jin snorted.

"I guess his girlfriend was apart of my black out rage party when I got suspended," Zuko told her a little awkwardly but she burst out laughing.

"Course she was, hey do you mind if I let you go? I gotta go to work," Jin asked and Zuko looked up at the building he was at.

"Yea for sure, have a good day Jin," Zuko smiled sadly.

"Bye lee," she teased and hung up.

Zuko let out a long sigh as he pushed himself off the wall and looked up at the building he was at. He wore a black button up dress shirt with a pair of nice black jeans, his hair combed. He pouted a little looking at his fathers business building but went to the glass doors to go inside with his black shirt rolled to his elbows.

"I'm here to see Ozai," Zuko walked to the secretary at her desk.

"Kid we're not interested in whatever charity you have, you have to send a letter," the blond woman barely gave Zuko a look.

"I don't have a charity, can you please tell me where Ozai is?" Zuko rolled his eyes slightly annoyed. The woman sighed finally looking at him.

"Mr susano doesn't take appointments unless you scheduled in advance, nor any with children," she gave Zuko a look as he crossed his arms.

"It's not an appointment, I was requested to come so where is my fathers office?" Zuko growled at her with a scowl.

"I-oh! Your his son? Yes yes I'm so sorry I didn't recognize you since you were a kid," the woman gasped turning red as he waited for an answer.

"Don't worry about it, he can come with me," a girl in dark red tight pants and loose long sleeve tucked in walked over with her hair half up in two small buns as her bangs covered her eye brows.

"Mai?" Zuko looked at his old friend in surprise.

"Come on, you take to long," Mai walked to the elevator as her boots clicked against the marble floor.

"Didn't think you'd actually come," Mai waited for the elevator door to close as Zuko stood with her.

"Me neither, but I might as well see what he wants before Ozai shows up at my house again," Zuko huffed crossing his arms not looking at her.

"It is nice to see you again," Mai blushed softly looking out the glass behind them that showed over the city.

"You too," Zuko gulped a little glancing her way.

"So why are you here?" He asked.

"Azula, she asked if ty lee and I would come, not to the meeting of course," she sighed a little boredly.

"Of course," Zuko shrugged nodding.

"How was japan?" She smirked at him.

"You'd hate it," he told her as the doors open.

"Your father office is at the end of the hall, be careful, I don't want to have to wait three years to see you again," Mai motioned down the hall and Zuko smirked a little at the comment.

"That'd be tragic, I'll see you Mai," he nodded stuffing his hands in his pockets and walked out.

"Bye Zuko," she blushed as the doors closed again.

Zuko walked down the red carpet with gold as the walls were glass that probably had other offices in them, but there was the last office at the end that had glass around the black door. Zuko stood at the door for a moment, he gulped down his fears and took a deep breath before knocking.

"Come in," Ozai called.  He pushed the door open.
