"Just meet me at the coffee shop in a half hour, Ill get you your hazelnut ice latte," Zuko smiled as he was on the phone with Katara waiting outside the coffee shop.
"Yes love I know how you like it," he tilted his head back with a small chuckle.
"I won't stir in the cinnamon... or drink it.." he mumbled the last part but saw Olivia walking up to him in a light green dress and ballet flats.
"I'll see you in a half hour, love you," Zuko smiled hanging up and put his phone away.
"I'm so glad you came," Olivia grabbed his hand but gasped softly seeing his tattoo.
"It's whatever, I was new this year so... I guess I get where you're coming from," Zuko put his hands in his pockets instead.
"Uh weird question, where did you get the dress?" Zuko asked quietly as he opened the door for her and Olivia walked in with a small twirl to show off the skirt part.
"There's a shop boutique down the road I went to last week, isn't it cute?" She giggled. It was a light sage green with a halter top and open back and a flowy skirt that ended a few inches above her knees.
"Uh it's Kataras birthday this weekend and I wanted to get her a present so..." he rubbed the back of his neck blushing at how Katara would look in the dress. It was her first birthday he'd celebrate with her, he doesn't know what boyfriends should get girlfriends for their birthday.
"Oh really?" She snorted. "She's pretty and all but green isn't her color,"
"Red does look better on her," Zuko smirked a little.
"I have this cute little red skirt at home," Olivia hummed as they went up to the counter.
"Okay?" He didn't get it.
"I'll get a lavender chamomile tea please," Zuko ordered when they were up.
"Tea, really?" Olivia snorted. "Teas just water down leaf juice,"
"I own a tea shop..."
"Anyways, I'll get a vanilla bean frappe please!" Olivia ordered next with her hands behind her back.
Zuko pulled out his wallet to pay for them both, he'd order Kataras drink when they were done so it didn't get watered down by the ice over time.
"Aw your paying for me? I said I'd pay," Olivia blushed smiling and Zuko shrugged.
"My uncle would kill me if I let you pay for me," Zuko told her flatly.
"I can't wait to meet this uncle of yours," Olivia wrapped her arms around his as Zuko gave the cashier his card. He took a step to the side to get out of her grip frowning.
"Please don't touch me," he said pursing his lips.
"Oh okay, sorry," she laughed awkwardly and took the recipe and card back to hand to Zuko when they went to find a table.
"So you use to live in Japan right? Why move back?" Olivia asked to start a conversation up.
"I had a family issue here," Zuko shrugged not giving much effort.
"And your not moving back?" She cocked her head to the side.
"I was thinking about going to college in America anyways so might as well stay," he lied.
"Are you an only child then?" She tried again, it was hard to keep a conversation going with him when he put in no effort to share with her.
"No I have a little sister, she goes to our school, we're not close," Zuko leaned back but her foot brushed against his leg. He immediately sat up and pulled his ankles to be under his chair and crossed.
"Does she help you at your little tea party shop?" Olivia tapped her finger on the table but soon enough their drinks were brought to them and Zuko took the lid off his drink to let the tea cool down.
"Uh yes," he lied again, he was not about to tell her about his families drama.
"But with school she doesn't help often," he went with it.
"Are you sure that's what you ordered? It smells weird," Olivia looked at the tea but Zuko sipped it a little to see if it cooled down enough.
"It's normal? I don't like coffee," Zuko set it back down. What did she have against tea?
"Wanna try my drink? It's yummy!" Olivia offered.
"It's all sugar," he told her.
"And?"
"Uh.. I don't like germs," he lied again. How much longer?
"Look I know your like introvert emo mystery guy but I'm... im trying really hard to get to know you, and I think your really cute, even with that scar," Olivia sighed flipping her hair off her shoulder.
"If you just get to know me too maybe we could be more than friends one day?" She looked at him gently.
"You know your like not my type at all?" Zuko blinked unamused. She looked at him shocked at his bluntness.
"And I have a girlfriend?" He tilted his head to the side.
"What?!" She screamed.
"What's your type then?! What does that bitch have that I don't?!" Olivia cried out getting red in the face.
"A lot," he said like it was obvious.
"Look it's just I like girls that don't mind getting a little dirty, can handle their own, i like her independence but also how caring she can be for everyone, she can admit when she's wrong but also hold me accountable for my actions, we were really close friends before so like I fell in love with my best friend so we still joke around and rough house but she also paints my nails and helps me cook, she's just a really good person for me and helped me through some bad things in my life," Zuko explained gently to her but no guilt either for hurting her feelings.
"Sorry if I gave you signals but I'm not interested in being in a relationship with you Olivia," he shrugged as she looked almost offended.
"I can do all that, I can handle anything you bring me with your life," Olivia whined.
'You can handle my abusive father and a gun to your head?' Zuko closed his eyes irritated.
"My uncle loves her more than he loves me probably, sorry he makes the rules, and if you disrespect tea he won't even bother with you," he tried to joke.
"Cause she's some over bearing whore that can push you and cook? Sounds like a shit relationship," Olivia scoffed pouting.
"Hey Zuko," Katara walked in on time and Zuko let out a breath of relief knowing the half hour was up.
"Hey, sorry I haven't ordered your drink yet, here's my card if you want to go get it," Zuko handed her his card when she walked over.
"I can pay for my own drink, don't worry about it, whatcha guys talking about?" Katara pulled her hair into a ponytail as Zuko took the hair band off his wrist to hand to her.
"Apparently this guy has some shit girlfriend, I can't believe you think some bitch like that is better than me," Olivia scoffed rolling her eyes as Katara looked shocked.
"Wait zukos the guy you like?" She asked softly with sadness in her eyes. Did Olivia really think she was awful?
"Well duh, hot and sexy," Olivia motioned as Zuko looked uncomfortable and annoyed.
"I told her I have a girlfriend and she's pissed, told you I didn't like her," Zuko crossed his arms glaring.
"Can I leave yet?" He asked.
"Olivia just cause Zuko and I are dating doesn't mean you can't just be friends, Aangs had a crush on me but crushes go away and we're friends still," Katara told her gently trying to work it out.
"Your dating him?! She's your girlfriend?!" Olivia screamed again as everyone looked at them.
"Yes?! I thought it was obvious!" Zuko snapped finally.
"Holy shit I literally couldn't have been more obvious I wasn't into you," he put his face in his hands.
"Why didn't you say you had a girlfriend in the first place?" Katara asked confused.
"That actually works?" He asked surprised.
"Yes!"
"I thought that was a myth, like saying I'm lactose intolerant," Zuko whispered gripping his hair.
"You are lactose intolerant Zuko," she hissed.
"Everyone feels sick when they eat dairy!" He shouted.
"No they don't!" She cried out wide eyes.
"So you two are dating? Are you kidding me? Katara you were giving me advice!" Olivia slammed her hands on the table making Zuko jump a little.
"I didn't know you meant Zuko! I told you about my boyfriend trying to make you feel better," Katara told her panicked a little.
"You called her a whore," Zuko said flatly.
Katara looked at her wide eyes full of hurt as Olivia gulped a little but neither said anything. She had a small glare embarrassed that neither of them told her. She looked stupid now, but from what she's heard what kind of relationship could they even have?
"Hey," Zuko tapped the table to get olivias attention.
"What?" She snapped back.
"Apologize to her," he glared.
"Zuko it's fine, I should've been a little more honest and told her we were together," Katara stood up shaking her head.
"Kat, don't go," Zuko looked at her wide eyes.
"I just need some air," she gulped waving them off going out side.
Katara inhaled a deep breath as she went on the sidewalk hugging her arms close to her chest. She looked at her phone seeing texts and gulped a little.
Jet: call me when you can
She closed her eyes leaning against the wall with a growl.
