bickering

Zuko held the door open as he tried his best to help his uncle up the stairs to their apartment as iroh was on crutches when he was finally allowed to leave. He wheezed out of breath while Zuko raised a brow at his over dramatic uncle.

"Whos idea was to put that many stairs there?" He gasped falling onto the couch and put his broken leg on the coffee table.

"I told you we should've gone to the shop that had the apartment in the back not above," Zuko bent down to pet durk who meowed happily rubbing against his hand.

"But noooo this one gave off your happy rockvibes," he looked back at the old man sarcastically.

"I like the natural sunlight," iroh waved him off but looked over seeing his nephew starting a pot water to put on the stove.

"The doctor said to start taking your medication today about two hours before you go to bed and to lay off the caffeine, so no more green tea," Zuko went to the cabinets to see what teas they still had. He heard a loud gasp.

"Don't start, it's only for two months," Zuko stated flatly as the older man pouted.

"I know how to take care of myself Zuko," iroh sighed a little. Zuko walked over and handed him a water bottle from walking up the stairs.

"You were mumbling in your sleep while the doctor was talking to us, I'm going grocery shopping today so enjoy your tea and chill out, your always working to hard," Zuko rolled his eyes going back to the kitchen to feed his cat.

Katara walked in the apartment with Aang as they both were greeted by iroh waving happily.

"I'll get more water," Zuko groaned grabbing more cups.

"How's everything going?" Katara smiled jointing Zuko in the kitchen and he kissed her head gently as his own greeting.

"He's acting like a baby, about tea," Zuko said loud enough for his uncle to hear.

"I heard that!"

"Your seven feet away," Zuko shot back sarcastically.

"I really like your house Zuko," Aang smiled brightly looking around the living room.

"Thanks, you can turn on the tv if you want Aang," Zuko nodded softly to him.

He noticed iroh a face scrunched up in pain as he rubbed his head a little when he set his water down. Zuko sighed pouring the hot water into the tea cup with the tea bag in it and grabbed some Benadryl.

"You're still recovering from a concussion too, do you want to stay in here or your room?" Zuko set the tea next to iroh and handed him the pills.

"You're worrying over me to much," iroh said flatly.

"I don't know it's kinda fun to watch," Katara smirked at them as Zuko blushed a little.

"Im just making sure you heal fine," Zuko sighed shaking his head.

"Agni your so much like your mother," iroh smiled a little taking the pills and swallowed them with the water.

"When you got sick so much as a child she'd always be worrying over you," he chuckled softly as Zuko didn't seemed bothered it when he went to the fridge.

"Maybe the doctors remembered me and knew she'd always be asking questions like I was today," Zuko teased back a little.

"You were in the hospital a lot?" Katara asked curiously.

"Not that much," he shrugged.

"Probably was in the hospital half the year when he was first born, I think you didn't go as much when you turned four, Zuko was a premature baby and got so sick so easily," iroh turned to them happily to talk about his nephew as a baby.

"Didn't I get pneumonia?" Zuko asked looking back at him.

"And constant fevers, I have a picture of when you were three!" Iroh motioned to the shelf of photo books wanting it.

"No," Zuko pointed at him.

"How early were you?" Aang asked.

"Uh like... 6 weeks?" Zuko tilted his head to the side remembering. "I think mom said I was like 6 or something pounds,"

"That's so small!" Katara gasped but then looked at him confused.

"But You're so tall?" She made a face.

"Uh... vegetables?" He raised a brow.

"I still get like a pretty bad fever once a year and catch the flu usually," Zuko explained softly pursing his lips.

"It's not serious, just shit immune system," he chuckled pouring the tea in the three other cups.

Aang was about to say something but was cut off by a loud snore from the couch, they all looked at iroh who passed out with his head tilted back.

"Nice," Zuko smiled smugly.

"Is he going to be okay sleeping there?" Aang asked tilting his head to the side. Zuko walked over to his uncle and put a small pillow under his head to support him and pulled the blanket over his lap at least.

"He'll be fine, he's stubborn about taking a break," Zuko sighed tiredly.

"Oh Zuko! I forgot this is why we came over, I made custard tarts and thought you and your uncle would want some, a get better soon kind of thing," Aang reached on the ground for his bag he brought in and handed Zuko the container of treats.

"you didn't have to do that... thanks," Zuko was surprised and put them in the fridge so they stayed cold. "I'll have them after dinner later,"

"I'm grabbing a sweater I'm cold," Katara told the boys as she went to zukos room.

"Wait don't take my new one!" Zuko cried out going after her but Katara slammed the door close behind her immediately as Zuko ran into the door.

"No kat dont you dare! I haven't washed it yet!" He whined banging on the door.

"I'm going to make it stink like me," Katara sang from the other side of the door. Zuko paused for a moment to think.

"Is that suppose to be a threat?" He asked confused.

Silence.

"I'm going to give it to Sokka,"

Zuko immediately kicked the door open with no hesitation.

As Katara let out a shriek, Aang covered his ears quickly, while iroh snored still sleeping.
