Tenma's Pov:

I looked at my cuckoo clock, it was 11 p.m. and everyone was asleep by now, I waited for a signal from my best friend meanwhile I was checking if my disguise was all set up correctly.

I didn't have to wait long when I heard my name being called out of the castle.
I looked down at my window and I saw Kyousuke also disguised with a big ladder in his hands placing it under my window.

Kyou: Ok it should be ok, be quick!

He said yelling-whispering to me, without losing anymore time I went down the stairs, trying to be as careful as I could.

I was almost there when I missed one of the last stairs, making me almost fall.

Fortunately Kyousuke was able to catch me (bride style) before I could get close to the ground.

We looked into each other's eyes for a bit, but we immediately came out to our senses.

T: Thank you kyou

I said looking at him, while he was laying me down.

Kyou: No problem but, be careful next time.

We didn't loose any time and we headed fastly to the village.
At first I thought that it would have been completely dark, with just some lanterns lighted up, but instead, I found the all village having a party.

We could hear the music even if we were still far from it, and when we finally arrived, we could see all the people dancing and having fun, it was amazing!

T: *whispering* Wow! Look at this! Look at what I was missing!

Kyou: *whispering* Yeah I know, but be quiet, I don't want you to get in danger, or I-

T: *whispering* Wait- you brought your sword with you?! Why would you do that?

Kyou: *whispering* Of course, my dad always says "a soldier never goes around unarmed".

T: *whispering* Ok ok, but don't hurt anyone alright??

Kyou: *whispering* I'll try, but no promises!

I looked at him, bothered about his answer, but I knew that I couldn't convince him, so I had to accept his response.

We walked among the crowd and carefully looked in any corner so that we couldn't have any "surprise". When we reached the center of the square, we could see some musicians playing instruments and other people dancing, but not the dancing that I'm used to it, it wasn't precise, or gentle, or composed.

It was... free..

I don't know how to explain it but, I wanted to try it.

T: Hey, Kyou, can I.. go dance with them? *looks at him*

Kyou: Well.. if you want to, but be careful, we don't know who these people are, they can hurt you.

T: Would you PLEASE relax for once and stop being so protective, I appreciate that you want to keep me safe but you can't be aware for all your life, or you will never have fun!

Kyou: Ughhh ok.

Narrator's Pov:

The two young adults were now on the "dance floor", dancing. Tenma felt free, he was dancing freely without anyone telling him to compose himself or stop being childish, he was finally being himself.

XXX: What a nice moves you got there young boy.

Someone said at Tenma's back, and even tho the person didn't mean any harm, Kyousuke was still on guard.

But of course Tenma would have been nice, like always.

T: Oh thank you sir!

XXX: I've never saw you here, were are you from?

T: I-

Kyou: He's my friend, I invited him.

XXX: Ohhh you are the son of the greatest soldier of the royal family! I've seen you a couple of times but I never had the chance to talk to you!

Kyou: Yeah.. now if you may excuse us, we're going somewhere else.

T: Wait-

Without letting his friend say anything else, he took his wirst and took him far away from that big crowd.

T: Why would you do that?! We were having so much fun!

Kyou: Tenma we should go back now, or they'll find out that you sneaked out, and we will both get in trouble.

T: No! This is the best moment of all my life! And I won't let this end so soon.

Kyou: You know Ten, sometimes you can be such a baby, stop complaining and lets come back to the palace!

T: No! I said that I won't come!

And without saying more, he ran back to the village, getting himself lost into the crowd

Kyou: UGGHH cmon!

Kyousuke, pissed about his friend's childish attitude, went back to the village's square, searching him among that big racket.

Kyou: ugh where the heck is he??

He looked every where but he still couldn't find his stubborn friend, but then, he heard weird noises, and it wasn't the music, they seemed more like... someone was being attacked!

Kyou: Oh no Tenma!

He ran towards the rumors, and when he finally found the origins of those noises, he immediately went on "protective mode".

Kyou: HEY YOU!

He got the delinquent attention.

Kyou: What where you trying to do huh!?

He punched the guy, making him fall face down on the ground, getting the attention of some of the people that were there.

I think you can already guess what happened, Tenma was being "attacked" by some random guy who was there.

Kyou: You must pay for what you've done!

He drew his sword from it's scabbard, ready to behead the man, but his friend stopped him before he could.

T: Stop! Don't you dare hurt thst guy!

Kyou: Why not?! he deserve it!

T: No he doesn't! Now put your sword down.

If before only some people were "interested" about what was happening, now all the village was looking at the scene, couriously.

Kyou: You can't be serious! Are you even thinking about what you're saying?!

T: Oh yes I am, pherhaps you should think about your tone, should I remember you who are you talking to right now?

After what he said, he took his hood of, revealing himself.

The crowd looked at him in shock, they couldn't believe that the prince was there all that time.

Kyou: Oh you're not going to use that card on me.

he said looking at the prince with an annoyed look.

T: Oh yes I'm going to use it, now put the sword back in the scabbard, now.

Tenma's gaze became serious while looking deeply in Kyousuke's eyes, the blue-head never saw him like this, and that kinda creeped him out, so he decided to do what he said.

T: Good, now let's go back to the palace.

He took Kyousuke's wirst and then draged him to the castle.

When they came back under Tenma's room window, they took the big ladder, placing it in the same position of before.

Kyou: Quick, before someone see us.

T: I know don't be so worried all the time.

Kyou: Are you- ugh, you know what, we'll talk about it tomorrow, just go back in.

After some minutes, Tenma walked in his room, and after saying good night to each other, even Kyousuke walked away carefully.

T: Ugh, good, no one saw me.

XXX: uhm uhm

The light turned back on, Tenma turned around, and saw his little brother in front of him, the nightgown, the slippers on the feet and the disheveled hair.

Ta: Sooooo, how did your date went~

T: h-h-h-heh-?!
