Interest (longer)

[Now, of course, I'll take full liberty on the reader's interests, so I'm sorry if you don't like some of them.

I hope you enjoy anyway! ^^]

"So, how have those few weeks been with (Y/n) Tom?" Brian asked, sitting on the demon boy's bed, the white bunny lying on his lap while Tom was walking in circle in thought, perplexed.

"Great I think? I mean, she didn't stop talking to me so far, we can actually talk for hours and it's really cool, she's really cool..." he said that last part to himself with a smile before his expression twisted into a worried one. "But the thing is, we only went on one date once and we just talked since then... What if she actually blame me for messing up with the dinner thing and she keeps talking to me because she's too amazing?!"

"Tom Tom Tom..." the life coach repeated in a comforting manner as he walked towards him, gently putting the light pink bunny in Tom's hands. "You told me she claimed that this date was the best night of her life, do you really think such words could be a lie?"

Tom looked down at the little sleepy animal and petted his head. Brian putted a hand on his shoulder.

"Tom, maybe (Y/n) wants to see you again too, you should probably just ask her out again. Communication is everything in a relationship."

"Thank you Brian..." Tom smiled.

He walked towards his bed and grabbed his phone which was on the said bed, after a long debate with himself to choose the right words, he sent his request of another date to the earth human girl.

Wearing her pajamas to be more comfortable , (Y/n) was sitting on her bed, her computer beside her playing some funky 80's songs as background music to put her in a good mood while she was sewing one of her shirt that got torn up a little bit at her PE class today. Moving her head to the rhythm and lip-syncing, she noticed her phone buzzing, signaling that she received a text. She puts her needle and shirt aside to take the device and smiled when she saw from who it was:

[Tom]: Hey~ You wanna meet up next week?

(Y/n) responded immediately.

[You]: Sure!

[Tom]: Awesome! :)
Any preferences?

[You]: Mmm...
Surprise me! ;)

(Y/n) unknowingly let out a giggle as she imagined where the demon boy might get her, maybe it won't be in the under-world this time? Maybe it'll be in a different dimension! (Y/n)'s smile only got bigger as her imagination made a 180° turn with the multiverse's possibilities, and she only realized that she looked like a goof when she noticed her face on her big old mirror hanging on her wall. Rising a hand to her cheeks, she squeezed them to decrease her giant grin into a small smile as she took her shirt and needle again, wondering what Tom was preparing for her...

"Oh you got to be kidding me!" the said boy yelled at his phone.

"What's wrong Tom?" Brian asked as he sat on Tom's bed beside him to look at the phone's screen.

"I asked her where she wanted to go and she just replied with 'Surprise me', what am I suppose to do?!" he said while running his hands through his hair and let himself fall backwards on the giant bed.

"So...why don't you surprise her by taking her somewhere new and private." the life coach suggested.

"Brain are you crazy?!" Tom immediately responded, using his legs to create a balance effect to get him to sat up. Grabbing his life coach's shoulders. "Last time I wanted to impress her it was a horrible mistake! I won't make any this time!" he got up and started to walk in circles, thinking out loud. "This needs to be somewhere she likes, somewhere she'd be comfortable..."

"W-what about a simpler place so you can get to know each-other better?" Brian said, feeling that this could get out of hand.

Tom shook his head.

"No, she wants me to surprise her remember? No, I need to show her that we can have a great time together by taking her to awesome places."

"But how could you know where? You don't know her well enough to know her interests."

Tom stopped walking, his back facing his friend, and stood there motionless for a solid few minutes. Brian heard him gasped and snapped his fingers, the boy turned back to him with sparkles in his eyes.

"You're right! If I don't know what she likes, I just have to know!" Tom walked towards the man, made him stand up and pushed him to the door. "Thank you Brian, you can take the rest of the day for yourself now!" he said with a smile.

"Uh...Thanks Tom...?" Brian said in an unsure manner as Tom closed the door on him, feeling that he made a mistake.

Now alone in his room, Tom called out one of his servant, a beefy blue demon with three horns and a spear in his hand, who appeared before him in a cloud of grey smoke, he putted a knee on the ground, bowing to his master.

"Stu," Tom began to order. "bring me the best mirror hacker in the multiverse."

Stu gulped at the word 'multiverse' but he just couldn't refuse an order from the demon boy who signed his paycheck.

"Very well master." and with that, the blue demon disappeared!

*a few hours later*

"So! You've found it yet?!" Tom asked out of frustration and impatience.

The green, tiny skinny being let out a groan, exasperated by demon boy and his question he asked for the billion time. It turned its head towards him, its pink dreadlocks hiding its eyes.

"Oh, excuse me, I'm just trying to find one single girl in one single dimension in the multiverse!"

Tom clenched his fist and his eyes changed color with growing anger. Understanding the situation it putted itself in, the entity quickly turned back to its laptop which was plugged into Tom's mirror. With a slight punch on the device, it turned back to him with a nervous smile.

"T-there, got it!"

With those words, Tom quickly went in front of his mirror and turned it on.

"Mirror" he spoke with a clear voice, hiding his excitement. "Show me (Y/n)."

The mirror showed statics for a few moment, Tom lifted an eyebrow but an image eventually appeared on the magic mirror. It was a room, with only a bed-side lamp on, a calm and peaceful atmosphere emanated from it. Sitting comfortably on the bed was his special someone,  listening to some music as she hummed a catchy little tune and drew something on a large piece of paper with a selection of blue crayons. Tom smiled at her happy, even childish, mood and blushed a little bit when he noticed that she was in her pajamas. He turned back to the green being.

"Thank you for your work. You can go now, you'll get paid at the exit."

The entity nodded and walked out of the room with its laptop. Before it closed the door behind it, it looked back at Tom one last time.

"Creep." it said under its breath, inaudible for the demon-boy to hear.

Tom examined (Y/n)'s room carefully, deducing any sort of interest from what he saw in her room and even listed them on paper with activities they could do together based on them. He already had a lot of idea based on what he saw on her shelves: some origamis, a little jar full of water bubbles, an african statuette, a ?plastic? human skull and an old but clean writing machine.

(Y/n) stopped drawing and looked closely at the result, drawing Tom's attention who couldn't see what she just draw, then with a satisfied nod of the head, she stood up from her bed and walked to her desk to put the paper with the other drawings she did from time to time. As she walked, Tom could caught a glimpse of what was on the paper and he chuckled: it was the drawing of a big blue jellyfish, but what really amused him is that (Y/n)'s drawing skills weren't the best, to put it lightly, he could only tell it was a jellyfish before the drawing was so simple, almost child-like. But (Y/n) seemed and was taking pride in her art and Tom found that adorable. As he wrote the word 'jellyfishes' on paper, he said to himself:

"I'm definitely sure where to take her."

*a week later*

"Wow!" (Y/n) could only say with a big smile.

Tom has brought her inside of the largest aquarium in the multiverse, the walls were nothing but fish tanks, lightning everything with a blue light. She's never saw all those colorful fishes before, some of them were pretty scary but because of this new discovery, (Y/n)'s eyes were full of wonder as she looked around. By her side, Tom smiled a genuine smile as he saw her enthusiasm, a hint of red on his pink cheeks, then looked down as he took out the aquarium's map from his pocket.

"So, where do you want to go first?" he asked.

(Y/n) turned to him as he unfolded the map, three times, four, five, six?, seven?! After a few other times, (Y/n) couldn't see Tom anymore because the unfolded map was larger than his whole body.

"I...think we'll need a table." he suggested.

"Hehe, yeah."

The two of them went towards the aquarium's cafe. On their way, (Y/n) looked around, it was obvious to her that this place was really famous, she haven't seen one group or individual that looked the same, families, friends, even couples, the aquarium really is the perfect place for a date she thought with a smile.

Once they arrived at the cafe and choose their table, Tom spread the map on the table, covering all of its surface.

"Man, it really is large." (Y/n) said to herself.

Tom didn't respond and looked at the map closely, like he was looking for a specific place. (Y/n), her, looked upon the map and read the different names written on it, some of them didn't even looked like names. After a while, she heard Tom gasped and looked up to him.

"How about there?" he asked as he pointed a point on the map.

She looked down at the spot he choose and gasped herself when she saw the word 'jellyfishes'.

"Yeah! Let's go!" she exclaimed with excitement before getting up from her seat.

Fortunately, the jellyfish tank was pretty far away. The room wasn't large but it was long and extended for at least thirsty meters, still lighted with the beautiful clear blue water. (Y/n) turned to Tom and asked:

"So you like jellyfishes too?"

"Y-yeah, I come here every week to see them, you like them too?" he asked himself.

"Yeah man! I don't know what it is about them, did you know there was a type of jellyfish, tinier that my fingertips, that is immortal?" she said with sparkling eyes.

Tom chuckled, finding the human girl cute and then noticed something inside the tank that made his eyes widen.

"(Y/n), look at those." he pointed behind her.

She turned around and her jaw dropped when she saw a pack of gigantic orange jellyfishes, each of them had a different glowing colored pattern on the top of their large bell (I think that what it's called). Tom and her walked closer to the tank, (Y/n) took a moment to admire the creatures before speaking again.

"I guess it's just that, looking at them swimming in the water like this, so peaceful, and the way they're glowing, some of them even in the dark, even though they're transparent, they...kinda look like water angels to me..." Tom looked at her genuine, peaceful expression as she spoke. She suddenly looked at him, flustered. "I guess that's a weird thing to say."

"No, trust me it's not. It's even inspiring, the way you see beauty in things." he said as he took her hand, causing both of them to blush.

They noticed a group of tourist following a member of the aquarium's staff and decided to approach them for a bit, to learn a little more about those 'water angels'.

"Did you know" the guy said. "That jellyfishes don't have brains nor heart, in fact, they're just floating nervous system."

The tourists talked to each other when they heard this information, others just took pictures this whole time. Beside him, Tom heard (Y/n) snickered, she leaned towards his ear.

"Does that mean they're nervous all the time?" she whispered, causing him to snicker as well. She turn to the tank and gestured to a little, light green jellyfishes which was just swimming by, minding its own business. "Uuuh, uuuh I hate water." she said with fake anxiety.

They both laugh, they tried but it was hard to keep it quiet.

"Why was I cursed?!" Tom followed her in her game. "Ugh!"

They laughed louder this time and heard someone coughing, it was the staff member who looked at them annoyed.

"Excuse me, but if you're not going to take this trip seriously, you could just go."

"What? We can't have fun anymore?" Tom retorted annoyed, both of them starting a staring contest which only pissed him off more.

Sensing that this could get out of hand, (Y/n) squeezed his hand gently, causing him to snap out of his anger transe. She turned to the staff member with a smile.

"It's cool, we weren't part of this trip anyway. But it's good that you pay attention to the people you're speaking to." she told him sarcastically, dragging Tom out of the room before he could say anything back.

The rest of the day was really fun: fishing-sighting, lunch at the restaurant, petting pet-able sea creatures that they've never seen before. As they were giving silly voices to odd looking fishes, (Y/n) noticed a star-shaped ray, its stomach pressed on the glass of the tank. She took out her phone:

"I gotta show this one to Star." she said to herself.

"Wait, you could take photos this whole time?" Tom asked when he saw her aiming the camera at the star-ray.

"Uh...Oh yeah!" she exclaimed in realization before positioning herself in front of the fish. "Here, let's take a selfie together right now. Then we'll take others on the way!"

Tom nodded with a smile and went to his (Y/n)'s side. They took a couple of pictures but they could never have the three of them in the shot, her, him, and the star-ray.

"Let me do it." he took her phone away from her.

His hand detached itself from his wrist and went a few feet upwards with a green smoke liking the two body parts together. The human girl chuckled, impressed, and Tom took a selfie of the three of them, perfectly centered, but not of course without making weird and silly faces especially Tom who used his demon powers to twits his face in a inhuman way. After laughing at the result, (Y/n) grabbed his hand and dragged him with her to the next room, excited to take more pictures and make more memories.

*a few dates later*

"(Y/n), we need to talk." Star said with a serious expression after the two girls sat alone together at lunch break.

"Uh...sure, what is it?" her friend asked, unsure on what was about to come by noticing the absence of Marco, who was actually a few tables away, staring at his two friends.

"It's about Tom" Star started, looking down at her hands, unsure herself on how to bring that to (Y/n). "I...think he's hiding something from you, I think he's planning something."

"And...what makes you say that?" the (h-c) girl lifted an eyebrow at that statement.

"Well, you remember three weeks ago when you told Marco and I about your date at the aquarium?"

"Oh yeah! Tom lets me go with him there every week now!"

"Yeah Tom's never went to any aquariums ever..."

"What?" (Y/n) let out in disbelief.

"(Y/n), he's the Prince of the underworld. How can he possibly be interesting in water?!"

"...I guess because you guys have dated before, you should know about him more than I do." the teenager said in a matter-of-fact tone, keeping her calm despite the accusation of Star. "But have you thought that maybe he hidden some things to you exactly because he's the lord of the underworld and it would look less demonic for you? And he brought me to the aquarium because he's opening more to people?"

Star couldn't find anything to say in response to (Y/n)'s argument. She could be right, but Star knew something was off about all of this.

"Alright. Another example then:" she said, not giving up. "The black and white movie maker that you like so much, um... what's his name again? Grunchoo?"

"Groucho Marx, Star." (Y/n) folded her arms, getting rather exasperated.

"Right! Him! So, you said a few days ago that Tom invited you to the theater to watch a selection of his movies right?"

"Yeah, it was really fun." she smiled as she recalled this day.

"Well, Tom has never saw a black and white movie before. I don't think he even mentioned it ever!"

Silence has been settled upon the two girls. Star did her best to make eye contact but the constant, emotionless stare of her friend made her want to look down. But her sense of justice gave her the courage to speak up again.

"I know you're not liking this but I can feel Tom's doing something weird right now in order to get closer to you. I don't know why or how but... I'm asking you to be on your guards."

Silence again. (Y/n) spoke:

"You're done now?" she simply asked.

"Um..."

"Good." she stood up, not leaving time for Star to respond. "And I would like you to leave your paranoia for some girl who'll try to take Marco away from you."

"What?" she said confused as (Y/n) left the cafeteria, rather unhappy right now.

Sitting on her bed, listening to smooth jazz to put her mind at ease, (Y/n) was thinking. She thought of what Star told her this afternoon. It just didn't made sense to her.

'Even if he lied about having the same interests as me, how would he do that? And why would he do that? That's just so stupid.'

She sighed and reminded herself of the dates she went to with Tom. Her cheeks got a little warmer when she pictured his smile.

'...I know that this wasn't fake.'

She sighed again, figuring that she shouldn't be thinking about it too much. It'll just make her paranoid and she even could hurt Tom's feelings. Speaking of the devil (Aye~), the smooth jazz got replaced with (Y/n)'s phone's ringtone. She picked it up and smiled when she saw who it was.

"Hello?" she answered.

'Hey~! (Y/n/n)!'

"Tom, why are you calling me sometimes?"

'What? Can't I enjoy listening to your sweet voice?'

(Y/n) chuckled.

"I suppose there's nothing wrong with that no..."

'Okay, so... Guess what I got in my hands right now~'

"Mmm... Gimme a clue."

'It's a saga of three movies that you mentioned a few days ago and the third one is fairly recent.'

The young girl went through her library of memories to find what Tom was talking about. Having a guess, she gasped.

"No way..." she said as a smile formed slowly formed on her face.

On the other side, Tom laughed.

'Yep! The America Nightmare saga!'

(Y/n) squealed of excitement, bouncing lightly on her bed. Tom, him, smiling at how cute she looked.

"Oh my god! We NEED to see them!" she spoke again."

'How about tomorrow?' he suggested. 'The tv in my room has amazing speakers, we can watch them, surrounded by snacks, with only ourselves to contemplate the rest of the endless night...' he finished with an over-dramatic voice.

(Y/n) laughed at his little drama-zone.

"I guess I can come over, it'll be week-end the day after but I still got school tomorrow."

'It's okay, you can come by after!'

"Oh..." she hesitated. "I-I don't wanna be a bother-"

'Nah~ don't be silly! My door's always open for you!'

"Okay then..." she said quietly, her chin resting on her knees.

'...Are you okay?' Tom asked with concern.

"Of course, why... why do ask?"

'Well, you lo-' he paused. 'You're not usually that quiet.'

"Oh that's probably because I just failed a surprised test today. Don't you worry about it." she replied with a casual voice. "Tomorrow, after school. And don't you dare watch those movies without me!"

Tom chuckled, but he was still worried.

"Then... see you tomorrow!" (Y/n) said again.

'Y-yeah, tomorrow.' Tom said before she hung up.

Right after that, she immediately called another number and, as it was ringing, she stood up from her bed and walked frantically around her room.

'...(Y/n)?' she heard a voice on the other line say.

"Megan! I need your help!"

'(Y/n), you're the wise, mature one giving advise in the group.'

"Maybe, but right now, this is out of my jurydiction!"

'Wowowo!' (Y/n) heard noises on the other line. 'Is it about Tom?'

"Mmhmm!" she nodded violently.

'Why didn't you called his ex, also your friend instead? The one with the weird name.'

"I could've, but it's a little frisky between us at the moment. Plus now, it's more like general dating advice."

'And why calling me?!'

"Dude. Your dating life is longer than your own vital life."

'Yeah but you've always been a hopeless romantic.' This made her look down in embarrassment. Megan sighed. 'But I'll try to get in the right mindset, so what's the prob Bob?'

"Well, as you know, me and Tom have went on a few dates now, but it was always in different, amazing, and public locations. Tomorrow it'll just be the two of us! Watching movies! In his bedroom! And I'm freaking out! We're not even officially together yet!"

'Tomorrow? You're gonna skip school?'

"Of course not! I'll come over after."

'Ooo~ then it'll be pretty late, perfect set up for a good night. Hehe you know what I'm sayin'?!'

(Y/n) stopped walking.

"Ha ha yeah laugh at my anxiousness!"

'Relax girl~ you shouldn't be embarrassed by that stuff. You had boyfriends before.'

"Yeah but... I don't know Meg, with Tom it's... it's different."

'What? Is it because of his anger issues?'

"No, it's not a problem really. He doesn't get angry that much, I really think I calm him down. Plus it doesn't bother me, in fact... I feel safe when I'm with him...''

'So what?'

There was a silence between the two friend before the two of them arrived at the same conclusion at the same time. Megan gasped, followed by a squeal while (Y/n) covered her blushing face.

'Oh~ my god! He is the one!'

"Megan please! You don't have to scream on top of the roofs!"

'AH-HA! You're not denying it!'

"Megan I beg you! This is not helping! What do I do if he...you know...''

'If he tries to have sex with you?'

''Y-yeah..."

'Well... If you're comfortable with that and if he's really the one. Then I don't see a problem there!'

"I-I guess..."

'Ow~ (Y/n)! Hanging out with the cool kids yet so innocent, well, not for long~!'

"Oh my god..." she pressed a hand of her face, feeling nervous. "What do I do if that happens?!"

'Prepare a condom.'

"...That's it?!"

'What? You want me to lecture you on the different positions, all the tips and tricks of sex?'

"No! Jesus..." (Y/n) yelled, red as a tomato.

'(Y/n). Hear me out.' hearing her friend Megan talking with such a serious voice made her listen carefully. 'I'm gonna be really real with you right now.'

"Okay." she replied, waiting impatiently for Megan's words.

'Tonight might be THE night, but the thing is it's suppose to be a simple movie night where you just casually hang out. So try to keep this in mind when you go there, it won't be good if you're all tense 'n shit. You need to relax. And if you had any question about sex before that, trust me, you won't get any answer on your first time, in fact you'll only get more questions!'

This made her laugh, thankfully it she calmed down.

'Who knows, with all the stuff you guys have in common, maybe he's also a hopeless romantic like you!'

"Yeah, maybe you're right! Maybe he'll just ask me out officially!"

Megan gasped, realizing something.

'The first I love you~ maybe!'

At that, (Y/n) went back to being all blushy 'n shit. But the scenario of being asked out officially was still more comfortable than having sex with her demon boy-soon-to-be-friend.

"Y-yeah! Maybe!"

On the other line, she heard a distant voice calling out for her friend. Knowing what that means, (Y/n) pulled her phone away from her ear, at a safe distance.

'YEAH I'M COMING!' she heard before pulling the phone back on her ear. 'Sorry baebay I gotta go!'

"It's okay girl, don't you worry."

'I'll see you tomorrow 'kay? B-b-b-bye~'

(Y/n) stood there for a moment before letting herself fall on her bouncy bed. Thinking about what may happen tomorrow made her groan in embarrassment. She grabbed a pillow and hugged it with all her might, hiding her red face.

Blushing madly himself, Tom sighed and turned his mirror off. Still, he smiled, glad that nothing bad happened to his girl and that she was just being adorably anxious about their movie-night. Finally, he called out his servant Stu, the one he always calls whenever he wants some thing.

"Go to the movie store and bring me the American Nightmare saga. There's gotta  e some money inside the bowl in the hallway."

"Right away Master." Stu said before exiting his master's room.

Right after he closed the door, it opened again, Brian's head looked around before setting his eyes on Tom.

"Tom," he began hesitantly. "Can I... speak to you for a moment?"

"Sure thing Brian!" Tom said, not looking at his life coach as he installed his new speakers.

Brian made his way towards Tom's bed and took a sit, even though the bed is comfy, he seemed tense by the situation.

"Well, remember when I said that it's good to have common points in a relationship?"

Tom simply hummed in affirmation.

"And when I said that you might be getting carried away? B-but you said you got it!"

"Where are you going with that dude?" Tom turned his head to push Brain to his point.

"W-well, I know that your methods are a little extravagant and I've come to cop with that. But..." In this moment of silence, Brian figured he mustn't be hesitant in a time like this. His mind made up, he shook his head and looked straight at Tom, dead serious. "But this is over the line Tom. What you're doing is illegal!"

"Oh Brian, come on man, don't be like this! First you interrupt me while I'm busy and now you're trying to ruin everything I built up to be with (Y/n)?"

Brian was about to continue when he saw Tom's hands shaking and his face's features twisting. Understanding that it'd be a terrible idea to speak again. He looked down, avoiding the death glare Tom was giving him.

"Very well Tom..." he said before walking out of the room.

On the doorway, he looked back at him one more time. Then, he closed the door.

(This is getting long and I'm getting tired, let's just cut to the juicy part êwê)

*The next day*

'Sssssh, we need to be quiet.'

"There's gonna be a screamer." (Y/n) said, sure her herself.

'....AAAAAA'

"AAA!" Tom let out a scream while the human girl laughed her ass off.

He quickly stopped screaming and laughed with her, his heart still jumping after that really loud noise.

"See?!" she said, amused. "They know that they're so predictable, they try to make it up with a whole bunch of noise!"

"Y-yeah, totally..." Tom forced a chuckle, hoping that she doesn't realize that he's turning down the volume a little bit.

"Oh man..." with the moment of calm in the movie, (Y/n) decided to speak up again. "You know Tom, to be honest with you, I was kinda nervous to come here but right now, I'm having a good time!"

"Seriously?" he looked at her, their eyes locking.

"Yeah. I gotta say, you having interests in commun with me really helped out. It... thanks to that, I feel comfortable around you."

Tom couldn't believe his ears, this was perfect.

"You really think so?" he asked.

"Yeah..."

The two of them smiled, but they slowly stopped after a moment, knowing what's going to happened now. Both of them slowly approached each-other's face, inches apart, they closed their eyes and...

"Ouch!" (Y/n) rubbed the back of her head.

Tom and her looked at the door, which was behind (Y/n) and they saw the life coach himself, standing there not looking very happy.

"Brian?! What are you... What are you doing here?" Tom asked between his teeth, his shoulders shaking slightly.

As he was asking his question, (Y/n)'s attention turned to what Brian launched at her and picked it up. A paper wrapped in a ball. Curious, she unfolded it to see what was written on it. Her face then twisted with confusion.

"Tom."

The said demon suddenly calmed down at the softness of her voice, like god damn magic. (Y/n) turned to look at him and showed him a list of different stuff in his handwriting.

"Why would you write that?" she asked, scared of putting the pieces together.

"Um-that's just uh-"

"I'll show you what it is." Brian spoke up.

(Y/n) stood up and followed him to the mirror. Understanding what's happening, Tom ran and stopped in front of her.

"Don't! Please!" was all he could say.

He wasn't angry or even frustrated, he was only desperate and scared that everything he did would fall into useless effort, that he might lose the one girl that he can't be mad at.

"Tom, what is happening?" she asked.

"Mirror, show me (Y/n)." Brian said in front of the said object.

As her room came to view, (Y/n)'s eyes grew wide and she stared at her bed-room in the mirror. She walk pass Tom, who looked down in despair. Her silence that followed her action was unbearable, and her expressionless face didn't help either. Brian decided to broke it.

"I'm sorry Tom, but I couldn't let you continue."

Right now, Tom would've gladly burn him alive so he would end up as a pile of ashes. But he had more important things to do right now.

"Star was right." (Y/n) mumbled before suddenly turning back to Tom. Her expression full of anger, which startled him. "You stalked me to know what I like so you could pretend we had lots in commun so I could be in good terms with you!"

'And the worst part is that I fell for it.'

"But..." Tom started with a little voice. "But we were having fun and... and I love y-"

"That's not love! That just enjoying the same stuff!"

"But aren't those the same?!" he made an attempt to defend himself by talking back.

"Oh my god." (Y/n) rubbed her eyes.

Tom decided to not speak again.

"You know what kind of relation this is?! No conflict, no development, no actual discovery of each-other, all you're asking from me is my attention! Well, it doesn't actually work that way Tom! Both of the people are different, of course they are! In terms of personalities, tastes and interests! Sometimes, they match and sometimes they don't! But because both of them are interested enough in the other, they look pass it, hell! They might even discover something new that they enjoy, and therefor grow as people!"

(Y/n) made a pause to catch her breath, her and Tom's eyes never leaving each-other. He didn't say a word.

"I mean shit! If you have really pretend to like the same stuff as me then what do you like?! What do you hate?! Who's the real you?! Will I love him?!"

A heavy silence, almost as heavy as the feeling crushing Tom's heart, as well as (Y/n)'s. His mouth only opened a little bit but no sound came out. (Y/n) huffed in exasperation and turned her back to him.

"I know where the exit is." she said, her soft voice now filled with venom.

She walked towards the door and opened it, casting a last look to her fellow human.

"Thanks for letting me know Brian." she simply said.

"I only did what should've been done." he nodded. "Will you be okay?"

She didn't say anything and just exited the room, she didn't slammed the door, but god she wished she did.

Silence again, with Tom looking at the door, he only now realize that Brian was still there.

"Brian." he said. "You're fired."

"...I expected that." he sighed before leaving the bed-room himself, leaving Tom alone.

Still not saying anything, he walked towards his bed and sat on it, looking blankly at the floor. Finally, streams of tears flowed down his cheeks. This didn't felt like when Star dumped him for the second time. He didn't want to break anything in his frustration, it wasn't frustration this time, nor a feeling of being miserable. Tom grabbed his hair with all his might. This was more crushing, something precious to you that was snatched away violently, leaving nothing but emptiness.

To top it all, he had only himself to blame.

He was not made for this stuff.

The one girl who could make this work is now gone.

'Lies lies lies lies...' (Y/n) thought over and over as she scrolled through her phone's pictures of her dates with Tom, sitting on her bed after taking down her mirror and facing it to the wall.

Photo by photo, a burning fury rose in her stomach, the memory, the laugh, the smile, that soft comforting and oh so convincing smile.

'Everything was a fucking lie!" her teeth gritted, the anger too strong to bottle up.

"You stalking asshole piece of shit!" (Y/n) yelled at the top of her lungs.

She threw her phone with all her might, smashing it onto the wall facing her and fell on the floor, broken in a few pieces. (Y/n) gasped when she realized what she's done and took a deep breath, staring at the broken device in silence for what felt like hours.

"Dammit..." she mumbled.

Her gaze wandered to her shelves, various gifts that the demon boy gave her on their dates was on it. Little thing that would just gather dust on a shelf, but it made her heart jumped when he pulled them from behind his back, the fact that he bought it for her made her feel happy, it was something she liked or something she wanted. And the problem was: he knew that.

Memories unwillingly filled her head, yesterday they made her smile and happy. She didn't want to remember them, because they still felt like happy memories, she still enjoyed those times with him. She didn't want that. She grabbed a nearby pillow and hugged it tightly, tears falling on it.

"God fucking dammit..." (Y/n) mumbled again between her sobs.

Star Butterfly woke up by the sound of someone knocking loudly on a door. Rubbing her eyes with a moan she was about to go downstairs when she realized that the knocking came from her balcony. Grabbing her wand, she slowly and cautiously walked towards the door leading to the said balcony and could distinct a silhouette as she approached. Pulling the curtains with a sudden movement, she gasped softly when she saw her friend (Y/n) standing there. Star lowered her wand, a sad expression on her face when she realized that something was wrong. (Y/n) could access to her balcony by jumping from hers, but because of the obvious danger, (Y/n) only does it in case of extreme necessity. Star opened the door-window, the moonlight entering the bed-room which allowed her to clearly see her friend. She was in her pajamas, nothing suspicious here, it's the middle of the night after all. But her grey tank top was stained by a liquid, looking up and her face gave all the explanation Star needed, hair messy, shaky shoulders, her hands were playing nervously with the bottom of her top and her eyes were puffy and red, her gaze shifting repeatedly from the floor to the blonde mewman, sniffing from time to time.

"...I-I..." (Y/n) started to say, clearly forcing herself to talk as it seemed like she was at the limit of breaking into tears. "You...I-"

"(Y/n) (Y/n)." Star stopped her by putting a hand on her shoulder and then slowly wrapped her arms around her in a comforting hug. "You don't have to say anything, I'm here for you girl."

"...shit." (Y/n) tightly hugged Star back, burring her face in her shoulder. "I'm crying again."

Star felt her shoulder getting wet, she didn't say anything and patted her friend's back gently. For a minutes or two, there was nothing but the soft sound of a girl's sobs. Finally hearing a calmer and steadier breath, Star pulled away but still held on to her friend who wiped away the snot off her nose. Star smiled.

"Come on," she started walking, leading (Y/n) by her side. "Let's go get some ice cream."

(Y/n) sniffed again, looking down as the two girl made their way to the kitchen. As they were walking, (Y/n) looked at Star's night robe.

"Yeah sorry about that."

Star looked at her stained shoulder and chuckled.

"Nah! It's fine don't worry! What you should worry more about is: Is there any more of that ice cream you left here and that you love so much?"

"Dude there better be!"

They both laughed, after realizing that it's still the middle of the night, they fell silent, looked at each-other and then tried to contain their laughter again.

*two weeks later*

"Did you complete last night?" Arin asked as the group of friends walked down the hallways after the bell rang the end of the day.

"Aw you fucking know it!" Dan exclaimed, looking up with a dreamy look. "We completed together, it was maximum completion."

"Snap out of it dude!" Megan slapped the back of his head, causing the others to laugh. "Oh guys, check it. My parents are out for the week-end, so of course I'm throwing a party tonight!"

"Oh fuck yeah!" Dan exclaimed with sparkling eyes.

"Wait," Arin spoke up with a suspicious look. "A party tonight and you're just telling us now? Usually you invite us a week early so the whole school can come."

"Yeah but! Since (Y/n) finally decide to start really partying, we both figured it'd be better if we were just in a small group this time."

"More like I forced you." (Y/n) nudge her classmate. "It'd be crazy embarrassing if I throw up in front of people I don't know."

"Wowowo wait!" the two bros exclaimed, making the group stop in their track towards the exit with a look of disbelief on their face. Arin spoke again: "(Y/n), you're gonna drink?"

"Yep."

"But," Dan continued. "Alcohol, like real hard liquor."

"Yeah man! I couldn't believe it either." Megan said shrugging her shoulders.

The dumbfounded stare the two bros gave (Y/n) made her giggle and decided to give those confused boys an explanation. She cough in order to clear her throat.

"For you see! I've been in the back for too long, always watching you guys doing stupid shit. Sure it was really funny to watch you and recording you so I can use it for blackmail, which, I must say again, did not end up online." she winked at her friends as she said that, being given pouty faces in return. "And I realized" she continued. "that it was kinda boring to never participate, the real fun wasn't there you see? So now, it's gonna happened! I'll dive into the fun!"

The three friends started clapping while sniffing or wiping a tear away.

"I'm so proud..." Megan mumbled.

"Then let us go onward to experience the fully fun potential of getting wasted as fuck!" (Y/n) exclaimed, pointing forward and leading the group outside.

"You know, I'm glad you're okay now." Arin smiled genuinely.

"Yeah, you were really bumped out these days." said Dan.

"What do you mean?"

"What do we mean?!" Megan repeated. "Girl, you were in stereotypical-depressed-emo mode! Every time there was a window around, you'd stared outside listening to 'Do you feel it'!" she exclaimed while (Y/n) pursed her lips and looked to the side.

"Oh yeah, that one single from Rick and Morty when Rick tries to kill himself!" Arin pointed out, smiling.

"Wait what?" asked Dan confused.

The group turned their attention to the teen boy, indeed, he was very recently introduced to the cartoon while the other followed it since it first aired. His confused expression turned into one of shock.

"What?!" he asked again, louder this time. "Why would he do that?! I need explanation!

"Um..." (Y/n) began to say, scratching her neck. "We... we can't tell you that, it's spoiler."

"I don't care, you're not gonna drop this huge bomb on me and just leave me with nothing but fear and confusion!"

"O-Okay...? So Rick, Morty and Summer are on a ship and-AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" the girl began to say, then it happened.

A red portal of flame appeared out of thin air, nobody had time to react that a giant red hand came out of the portal, grabbed (Y/n)'s body and brought her inside with it before the flaming portal closed.

There was a moment of silence, then:

"Talking about being saved by the bell." Dan grumpily said, folding his arms.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" (Y/n) still screamed at the top of her lungs, trying fruitlessly to struggle her way out when she saw who the giant hand belonged to.

It looked exactly like what you'd expect seeing if you searched "satan" online: a red giant with giant horns. With some light differences though: three yellow glowing eyes, a tiara on some sort of pink mohawk. The giant beast was growling deeply and loudly as lava came out of its eyes. This part is strange but at the moment, the potential deadly danger of the situation was what most occupied (Y/n)'s head as she...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Yep. Still screaming.

"Honey please, put her down, you're going to scare her to death." a normal, slightly high voice echoed through the giant throne room, making Satan-look-alike calm down.

With surprising carefulness, it brought (Y/n) down and released her body. Stumbling a bit and still in shock, she looked around with fear. She was in a giant cave lighted by gigantic torches in which Satan was sitting on a throne made of black bones and red metal. The place looks like the underworld but she's never been here before.

Hearing footsteps coming closer, (Y/n) turned to where it came from and was surprised to see a human-looking man. Though she was still suspicious about his human origin, he sure had a plain appearance: only slightly about average tall, thin body, brown hair and blue eyes, with a crown on his head. The supposedly king here rose a hand for the girl to shake, a polite smile on his face.

"You must be (Y/n), it's a pleasure to finally meet you."

From the corner of her eyes, she looked at the giant beast once again. Because who knows? It could be a way to catch her off guard so Satan can devour her without too much resistance. The little king noticed that and forced a chuckle.

"I hope you'll forgive my wife for her behavior, she's been troubled lately, please understand."

(Y/n) first looked at his...wife before finally shook his hand.

"Uh... Okay?" she said in an unsure manner.

Recomposing his posture, the man straighten his back with his hands behind it. A more serious expression on his face.

"I'm sorry for bringing you here on such a short notice but we are in desperate need of help and I think only you can give us results."

"Why... Why only me?"

The beast growled again, making the little human flinch and yelp. The king ran to her feet, patting it and whispering gentle words to calm his wife, and it worked perfectly.

"You see," the king continued. "Since you two broke up, our son is been really shaken."

"Your son?" (Y/n) repeated slowly before putting the pieces together, her eyes now big with shock. "You're Tom's parents?!"

The king nodded, slowly.

"But he's not the same anymore..."

"What?" (Y/n) began to worry.

"At first, he just didn't talk to anyone and only came out of his room to eat. We thought it'd pass but... it only got worst. Now he stays in his room all day, claiming that he's a terrible person. This makes us devastated."

He pat his wife ankle, looking up at her while she sobbed. Which made (Y/n) figured that the lava was working as tears for her.

She looked down and felt terrible, it had to be because of their break up, it's her fault if he's like that. Sure, he did something terribly wrong but she's sure he doesn't deserve to live like this.

"We know that you're the cause of this." The king spoke again, (Y/n) looked back at him. His eyes were watery. "But we know that you're also the cure, we're not asking you to get back together but, please, just go talk to him. Make our son go back to himself."

The human staid silent for a moment before nodding.

"Of course."

The father smiled and called.

"Brian! Please lead (Y/n) to our son."

She turned to the side and saw the life coach himself pointing to a direction and gestured her to follow him using his head.

"Right this way miss."

Casting a last look at the sad parents, comforting each-other she followed Brian out of the room where they began to walk down a long hallway.

"Haven't you been fired?" (Y/n) asked out of curiosity. "I saw you packing up your things while I tried to find my way out."

"Yes, but with your break up affecting Tom, his parents hired me again. I suggest that you came and talk to him." he gazed into space. "I told him from the beginning: communication is everything in a relationship."

She hummed in response and looked ahead, thinking. What will she do once she see Tom? What could she say to cheer him up? After what he did, it's not like they can get back together like that, it'd feel forced. Maybe if they just start as friends? Would this cheer him up? What if he's desperate and he goes crazy and he lock her up with him forever until starvation gets them both?!

"(Y/n)! It's over here."

She turned around, realizing that she walked pass the door to Tom's bedroom where Brian was giving her a worried look. She chuckled nervously.

"Right haha." she joined him in front of the door.

With what the king said before, she was surprised to hear nothing from the other side. She turned her head towards Brian with a confused expression.

"His throat must be tired, it happens eventually." he explained. "You're ready?"

(Y/n) stared at the door, a hand on her chest, she could feel her fast heartbeat. She took a deep breath and nodded. Brian knocked gently. No response. He opened the door a little bit and gesture the girl to come in. She gulped and stepped in the room.

The lights were off, it took a while for her eyes to adjust. She looked around, she half-expected the room to be in shamble with messages on the walls written in red and with a messy handwriting. But this was more worrying than anything. Tom's bedroom wasn't a mess. In fact, nothing has change since she last came here. Everything was at the same place. The tv was still on, though only static could be seen on the screen which illuminated the room, especially the bed. Where the demon boy was sitting.

Tom wasn't moving, (Y/n) could've thought he was dead if it wasn't for his shaky breath. His knees were close to his chest, one of his arms was wrapped around his legs while the other one was on his head, his hand gripping his dirty pink hair. He was quiet, too quiet. For someone who has anger issues, when only his breathing echoed through the room, it made her feel unsettled and worried.

A sadness ran through her, she stepped towards the giant bed and stopped in front of it.

"Tom?" she softly whispered, though loud enough for him to hear.

Tom suddenly rose his head, making the girl flinch a little bit, but she immediately relaxed when Tom's red, puffy and oh so tired eyes came in contact with hers.

"(Y-Y/n)?" he called out with a raspy voice.

"Oh Tom..." she sighed and sat on the bed next to him, putting her hand on his shoulder.

He turned his head away in shame.

"Why are you here?" he asked.

"...Your parents asked me to come Tom, they worry about you." there was no point in lying to him. "And now that I'm here, I'm worried about you too."

"You shouldn't be. What I've done is inexcusable, and like the idiot that I am, I only realize it now, too late for me to be forgiven."

"It is never late Tom. Look around you, this isn't healthy, nobody deserve that."

"I do. After what I did..."

This is getting annoying.

"But Tom, now I'm here. Do you really think I'd do something like thing if you did deserve it?"

"That what I'm saying, I'm lucky to have you even looking at me."

"OH MY GOD!"

Tom jumped in surprise and looked at (Y/n). She clumsily got out of bed, mumbling angrily under her breath, and turned on the lights. Tom groaned and closed his three eyes, too used to stay in the dark darkness as black as his black heart of blackness.

"First of all there we go." (Y/n) said after flipping the switch, then looked at Tom with narrowed eyes. "Second, are you serious? Even I wasn't that deep into the stereotypical-depressed-emo mode! Also what? You don't deserve forgiveness? You're not the one to judge that! I am! And I'll forgive you if it means that you'll get out of your bed and go outside! And also maybe take a shower 'cause geez dude!"

Tom stared at her speechless with big eyes, this gave him a feeling of deja vu, but it was more refreshing somehow. Probably because this time, she was yelling at him out of careness and not... hatred.

Not hearing anything from him, (Y/n) also got this impression. She rolled her eyes, sighed and sat back on the bed.

"Look, what you did was horrible, it scared me and I'll never have a mirror in my room again and honestly, I don't think I'd be able to truly forgive you for that." she paused to wisely chose her words. "But you should not be withdrawn like that and instead try to live on and becoming a better person than the one who made this mistake."

'A huge, creepy illegal mistake'

"So that one day, I could trust you again."

Tom's eyes became watery, he chuckled.

"You still give out good advice." he said as he dried his tears.

(Y/n) sighed relieved. After a moment of silence, Tom stretched his arms and finally got out of his bed.

"I gotta say," he said, avoiding her gaze out of embarrassment. "I'm surprised you've came and told me this when you haven't even read my texts."

"Your...texts?"

Tom looked at her, both of them confused.

"Y-yeah... you didn't get them?"

"Well, my phone got broke by an accident that I'm not included in in any way." she explained. "I...I actually just got him repared yesterday... and I didn't turned it on yet!"

(Y/n) quickly took out her phone and, after turning it on, she got dozens of notifications, all of them indicating a new message. Tom watched nervously as she scrolled to see his texts, a smile forming on her face.

'I actually love boys band, I'm a big Love Sentence fan'

'I didn't like the black and white movies with that Gruncho Mark, movies without colors are just depressing to me'

'I now really enjoy aquariums thanks to you'

'Rick and Morty is fun but the humor is a little too much for me sometimes'

'I actually never went to a cemetery before, it was nice'

'I like burning wood, not carving it'

Looking at the dates, she noticed he sent her texts like this for a week, then it stopped. He must've gotten the clue that she didn't want him to contact her anymore. Which would've be true, even if she had her phone intact. Still, she smiled at the situation. She typed something and looked at Tom. After a moment, he heard something coming from his phone, which was on his bedside table. He took it and looked at the text he just received.

'*Groucho Marx'

"I'm not a fan of boys band." he turned his head to look at her. "But if you'd give me a cd, I'd give it a try."

The end~
