On a bright day in London, which was extraordinary rare, a group of 6 people were resting on the green outside of the palace. Those 6 people were Nicola Holland (2nd cousin of Queen Rebekah) Dominic Holland and their son Tom Holland. The other 3 people were the rulers of London. Queen Rebekah Van Hoffs, King Peter Van Hoffs and their young daughter Caitlyn Madison Van Hoffs.
Caitlyn and Tom were running on the green outside of the palace, having the time of their lives. It was not often that the princess was allowed to run around. Rebekah was a spiritly soul, and wanted her daughter to grow up without the childhood she had and dreamed of.
Whilst they were running, a few bystanders came to watch. Mostly the snobby rich folk. They stared disdainfully at the youngsters, and made leering comments. One peasant person, a man by the name of Luca, said to his friend, Mary, "They're gonna be such good friends when they get older." Mary just stared on sadly, "Highly doubtful, considering their origins." Luca stared. "I mean, a future Queen and her 3rd cousin? He's just like a middle class. That's forbidden."
~~
When Caitlyn was 5 and Tom was 6, their mothers died in a tragic accident. Rebekah and Nicola were in a car (one of the very first to be made) when their driver had a heart attack. The car crashed into a wall and all 3 were instantly killed on impact. The kingdom mourned for months, for Queen Rebekah was the light of London. King Peter had grown distant with the 2 remaining Hollands, and the youngsters friendship. Dominic began heading to the pub more, leaving Tom to look after himself from a young age. Peter began leaving Caitlyn with the maids more, in hope of giving her a maternal presence. It didn't, she just grew more resentful of her father as time progressed.
She spent more and more time with the maids. She helped them cook and sometimes followed them around the castle, chattering away.
When she was old enough for education, her favourite maid, Kelly, tried to help her out, but knew little proper English herself. So, Kelly brought in her old tutor, Lily. Lily taught Caitlyn how to speak, act and walk slightly more like a princess than she already does. By the time Caitlyn was 11, Lily had left and called in another tutor. This tutor, Sofie, was a teacher of royalty. As in, she taught prince's and princess's how to act and dress.
When Caitlyn was 10, Peter found a new wife. She was called Emma. Peter and Emma, when Caitlyn was 12 and 13, had 2 children. 2 girls, much to Peter's slight displeasure. He needed a male successor. The only other way was for Caitlyn to marry and have a son of her own. Caitlyn's new sisters were called Laura and Alison. Unfortunately, Laura died of TB when she was 2.
Caitlyn and Alison grew very close. When Emma died after contracting TB from Laura, Alison didn't rely on Peter. She relied on Caitlyn.
That is why Alison was heartbroken when she left.
