Viola kept a very close watch on the girl, even though she still wasn't sure of her opinion on her... whether or not she was good or bad. She had communicated with Todd through his Noise, and he'd asked her to try and decipher what the girl wanted exactly.

The connection cut off there, and Viola hadn't been able to access Todd's Noise since then. But, he was stirring more and more. In fact, he even twitched his fingers! However, the girl still hadn't stirred. It seemed as though she had Noise and she could read it. Only males can do that, right?

Another week passed, and Todd's progression shot up, while the girls stayed the same. At one point, Todd muttered words. Usually, a coma patient didn't speak until they were a day or so away from waking up.

Viola didn't leave his side for the next 48 hours. (Except to pee of course)

When one of the other healers, Mary-Anne, saw her hunched over form, she made her leave and get some sleep. Viola had no choice in the matter, but still fought to stay with him. "Vi, if he wakes up while you're away, I'll come and tell you." Mary-Anne told Viola, with a hand gently placed on her forearm.

Mary-Anne was a mother of 4 before the war began, but lost her daughter in it. She had 1 daughter and 3 sons. So, Mary-Anne had a motherly tone that made Viola miss her parents even more, but she still left. Viola's own mother used that tone when she was basically saying, "You will do what I say, I'm just saying it in this tone so you think you have a choice when you don't." Viola trudged off to a small cabin a few meters away. Without intending to, Viola fell asleep as soon as she was under the blanket.

A few hours later, Todd was stirring even more (to the point of just waking.) Mary-Anne placed a damp cloth on his head, due to a slight fever he was running and helped to prop up his pillows. When he sighed and turned on his side, Mary-Anne turned to the newest arrive; Lily. Mary-Anne pushed away the motherly feeling. This was not Alexa. Alexa is dead, I saw her body. Mary-Anne took a deep breath, and then proceeded to prop up Lily's pillows. It didn't look like Lily was going to wake up anytime soon, so Mary-Anne left to go fine Viola.

When Todd came to, he was aware of a slight pain in his chest and back. He sat up, with a loud groan, but found no-one in the room he was in. The sick place. He thought to himself. He had a look around, and found no one else in the room... except from a girl. Todd could see into her Noise, just about. It was the same girl who invaded his and Viola's thoughts!
