Lucas woke up to unfamiliar faces. He rubbed his eyes and inhaled deeply before waking up. When his eyes opened properly, he realised he wasn't in his room.

Then it hit him... hard.

Tears brewed and he buried his face in his pillow, trying to block out the horrible sounds that come from his mouth.

~3 MONTHS AGO~

It was an incredibly sunny day. The complete 180 to his mood. He was stood at a gravesite. Lucas was stood in a black and white suit among around 20 other people. His fathers family (of whom didn't have any interest in his mother's life) which consisted of Mary and Stephen (his grandparents) Danielle, Catherine, Marie, Christopher and Jayson (his aunts and uncles). Most of them were on his very far left. The only one who stood near him was his dad's baby sister Marie. She didn't speak to him, but her presence was enough. Then there was his mothers family (none of whom wanted anything to with him at all because they fell out with his mother when she was 17 but turned up out of sheer lack of choice) His nan and grandad Camille and Adrian. Then there were his uncles. Steven, Marcus, Daniel and Alex.

Then of course, there was the friends... and Lucas' new adoptive family.

When CPS found out that he lost his parents, they immediately (without his permission) contacted the new family, the Walkers. There was the parents Rebecca and Christopher, who were both really nice. Rebecca reminded him a lot of his own mother, which saddened him. Then there was the siblings. They were 17, 13 and 6. There was Hannah, Georgia and Harry. Hannah was from Rebecca's first relationship. Rebecca also adopted Maria. When Rebecca and Chris got together, they found Georgia on the streets. So they took her in and then Rebecca fell pregnant with Harry.

​​​​​​​Back on topic, to say it wasn't awkward was an understatement. When he asked for a moment alone, Rebecca said that he'd have to have Hannah with him though. He agreed, reluctantly. When they left, Hannah shoved her hands into her hoodie pockets and blew out into the air. She bumped Lucas' shoulder. "Hey... for what it's worth... I'm sorry." Lucas nodded but didn't speak. She sighed, and bumped his shoulder again. He glared at her, half-heartedly. She shrugged. "I'm your sister, I'm supposed to be annoying." Lucas felt a smile twitch at his lips. "Did you ever have a sister?" Lucas shook his head. "Two brothers." Hannah sighed again. "Well... now, instead of 1 sister and 1 brother, I have 1 sister and 2 brothers." Lucas smiled at her for real this time.
