"And what is the Richter scale?" the teacher asked the Geography class. A couple of unsure hands rose up, but one rose up strongly. "Lucas?" The teacher, Mrs Pendleton, asked pointing to Lucas. "The Richter scale is what people measure the magnitude of earthquakes on," He said and the teacher beamed, "That's right! What are they used for?" Lucas cleared his throat, "They're used to help seismologists identify any possible patterns and help them to try and work out where the next earthquake may be and how powerful it will be. It's also used for measuring the aftershocks of an earthquake." Mrs Pendleton looked shocked before her face broke out in a grin, "Lucas... I'm very impressed that you know that! How do you know that?" She asked and suddenly Lucas felt nervous, "I-uh... I was in the Thailand tsunami and wanted to study Earthquakes to... I dunno... feel a sense of peace or something?" Mrs Pendleton's face went sad. "I'm sorry about that, Lucas."
Lucas was as well.

His family wanted to go on holiday again.
This time to Japan.
Lucas, at first, protested profusely. He said he'd rather stay at home with his nan and grandad, but he later found out that they were on a cruise.
So, Lucas had no choice but to go with them.

It was nearly a 12-hour flight, and Lucas had plenty of time to come up with scenarios in which he died or got injured. At some point, he fell asleep.

They got to their hotel with little protest and hassle. Thankfully, it was nowhere near any bodies of water, so that put Lucas at ease slightly. They had a room near the top of the hotel and Lucas could see all around. There was a body of water he could see, but it was a very small smidge on the horizon. His family wanted to go and have dinner, but Lucas didn't. "Lucas, honey, come on and have dinner." His mother said as she put in her earrings. Lucas just ignored her, having made his point earlier. His mother turned around and frowned at her son's lack of response. "Lucas! I'm talking to you!" She said, her voice commanding. Lucas shrugged and rolled over onto his other side. His mother was now taking his phone off of him. "Hey!" Lucas protested. "Answer me," Maria said and Lucas sighed. He put on his "I'm sick but not really I just want you to believe me so I don't have to do it" face and faced her. "I just don't feel well," He said. Maria's face softened and she put a hand on his head, "Hmm, you are slightly warm. Ok. You can stay up here while we go and eat. I'll bring you some food up, ok? Try and take a nap," She kissed his forehead and walked out, leaving a key-card on the table and turning the lights off.

Lucas probably overreacted.
Yeah, he definitely did.
Lucas woke up to the room shaking, slightly. Instead of trying to work out what was happening, Lucas immediately went over to the phone. Just as he went to dial a number, the phone rang. "This is not a drill, we are experiencing an earthquake, please stay calm."
Lucas felt his chest tighten and his vision blur. He dropped the phone from the receiver and it bounced on its cord.
Lucas fell to the floor, gasping breaths coming out.
He wheezed as he tried to pull in air.
He was in Thailand again. The earthquake would cause a tsunami and he would die, he would die, hewoulddie, hewoulddiehewoulddie
Suddenly, the door banged open. A sound was distantly heard, but Lucas couldn't place it.
Lucas felt somebody fall next to him and he turned his head to face it. His vision was so blurry, he couldn't make out anything except blondie/brown hair. His breaths began getting slowly apart (but that was probably because he was nearly passed out) but the voice was shouting at him to stay awake. Lucas tried, he really did.
Somebody was shouting at him to "focus on my breathing" and it sounded like his mother. Lucas copied his mother as best as he could. "In...2...3...4... and out...2...3...4.... and in...2...3...4... and out...2...3...4" was the mantra she chanted with him until he could breathe properly again.
His vision cleared and he saw his mother sat with him on the floor but his dad wasn't anywhere near nor were his brothers.
It's Thailand again I'm gonna die I'mgonnadiei'm-
His mother spoke, "Nope, not again," Lucas frowned as he panted, "Dad?" He asked, his voice a croak. "Your brothers were worried about you. Henry's outside the room until you calm down." Lucas nodded, taking gasping breaths. "Are you done?" Maria asked, her hand clasping Lucas'
Suddenly, tears came to his face. "I wanna go home," He cried. Maria pulled him into a hug and he cried harder at her smell. There was a knock at the door and Henry poked his head through. "Can we come in, now?" Lucas felt Maria nod and everybody came in.
They all crashed into a hug on the floor and Lucas felt slightly safer.
