"What do i wear?" y/n asked no in particular "i mean, this is my first date in so long.and Tom's my best friend" Zendaya smiled from the bed "you'll look good in anything and-- oof" a shirt was thrown into her face "stop throwing around your clothes, you're gonna hate yourself after" Laura laughed, walking into the room as she caught a shirt. "help me! I don't know what to wear," the two girls looked at each other, then to their frustrated friend, "i'll do hair and makeup?" Laura nodded, claiming that she'll look for y/n's outfit. y/n took a deep breath and caught Zendaya's eye through the mirror "What if he doesn't like me after?.. I mean we're best friends, yeah but..what if he doesn't want to be my friend again" she shook her head as she brushed through her babbling friends hair "y/n you're crazy, the man had liked you for so long, he just finally got the balls to ask you out. Trust me, Harrison, Tony, Jacob, even Jon is kinda annoyed with how much he talks about liking you." Laura nodded in agreement "i mean it's kinda cute how he can turn almost every conversation about you." "you can literally mess up this whole date and he'd probably ask you out for another next week" the girls giggled "he's smitten for ya. Curly or straight?" y/n hummed in response "lets go curly" Zendaya smirked and got to work.
After perfecting hair, makeup and outfit, a knock came from the door "hey" Tom smiled shyly "hi" suddenly, the two girls popped up from behind "have her back to the room by 11"
"or don't"
"and have fun, but not too much"
"But then again, have as much fun you want"
y/n groaned, turning towards their mutual friends "really?" they nodded the laughed "but for real, have fun and be back by 11, we have filming tomorrow and y/n has a photoshoot" both y/n and Tom nodded, waving goodbye.
"So, why am i wearing shoes?" Tom smiled "what else would you wear on your feet silly" he opened the door for her "Tom" she groaned, causing him to laugh "because, i know you. You don't like dressing fancy and all that jazz unless you have to. You also hate fancy restaurants because you don't want to feel weird and want to pay half-- by the way, if i were going to take you to a fancy restaurant, i'd pay for everything" she opened her mouth to respond, but he continued "not the point. You always said that you don't want to spend a lot and you've been complaining how you've been craving for a while so.."
Tom pulled up to a McDonalds. y/n's jaw dropped "oh fuck. You, obviously expected something else i..shit we can go-" she turned to face him and grinned "bet i can finish a big mac faster than you"
the worry left Tom's body completely and now, he's smirking "you're on y/l/n...now don't get out yet, i wanna open the door for you" y/n chuckled but nodded anyway as she removed her seatbelt. "What should we get? Other than the burgers?" Tom asked as they scanned the menu "fries, definitely. And blizzards!" he smiled looking at y/n like she meant everything to him "of course m'lady... you are so excited for this" she glanced over at him, biting her lip. "Because they put me on a diet for my part of my secret project--and no, i'm still not telling you what it is. And because my my monthly visitor"
"You can call it a per-" she smacked his arm "not in public!" Tom rolled his eyes playfully, then went up to the counter to order. After their dinner, they went back to the car with their blizzards and Tom drove.
"Where you taking me now?" he shrugged "don't worry 'bout, you'll like it. promise." she hummed in response "last of Oreo or M&M?"
"M&M me" he replied, opening his mouth for the spoon full of ice cream "the only part that sucks about this date." he swallowed the ice cream "is that we already know everything about each other" y/n nodded, taking a spoon full of oreo ice cream "yeah, you know right down to when my periods should come and would end" they both chuckled "Anddd we're here!" y/n excitedly looked out the window "oh my gosh! I haven't been here in so long!" Tom grinned "i know, c'mon i'm going to win you a big ass stuffed animal" y/n chuckled "okay, probably not, but they're all rigged!.. I will win you something though."
"Okay, so no roller coasters because we ate just ate," "agreed. So..."
"Let's go find the easiest game here and try to win something, then the ferris wheel?" y/n nodded "deal." After playing 3 games, Tom was able to give y/n 2 smaller stuffed animals and one normal sized teddy. "So ferris wheel?.."
Tom and y/n sat comfortably close, y/n hugging the normal sized teddy to her chest as Tom held the smaller two in his hands. "S-"
"If you apologize for Parker and Ned one more time, i'm gonna punch you" y/n pointed a finger at him "who's Parker and Ned?" her finger lowered and pointed to the small stuffys in his hands. "And this is Peter" y/n raised the teddy and waved it's hand in Tom's direction, abruptly, the ride jolted "Tom!" he quickly wrapped his arms around the panicking girl "i got you, s'okay" he ran his hand through her hair trying to calm her down "just..stopping for a while,yeah? we'll be okay" she took a deep breath and nodded, pulling away slightly to look out. "The view is beautiful" "my view is definitely beautiful" Tom had respond "we can see the stars from here" "but none of them shine as bright as you do" y/n blushed at his words "Tom..despite getting stuck, this was honestly..the best first date i've ever been on" the boy was grinning from ear to ear "r-really? Can i kiss you?" y/n chuckled, but nodded, leaning in, as Tom met her half way.
The kiss was nothing like they both had imagined. Of course, they thought it'd be good. But not this good. His lips felt so soft against hers, she tasted like the strawberry chapstick that Tom had longed to taste from lips.
Suddenly, the ferris wheel came back to life, y/n and Tom pulled away, but it wasn't enough. They wanted to keep kissing, they wanted to stay like that, to feel each other close for longer, oxygen? Who is that? Breathing? Tom and y/n didn't know her.
"Do you wanna.. Stay with me in my room tonight?" Tom said breathlessly, taking y/n hand and helping her off the ride, they began to walk back to the car "i mean obviously not like that! I just... i don't want this night to end yanno? And we've slept in the same bed before already so-" y/n stopped his rambling with a light kiss. "You seriously sound like British Peter Parker when you're nervous. But i'd love to stay the night with you.. I haven't kissed anyone in a while so i could use some more practice" Tom tilted his head "but that kiss was-- oh! Oh i get it!.. You want to kiss me.. Holy shit y/f/n y/l/n wants to kiss me!.. I mean, i don't mind helping you practice.."

The whole McDonald's part(plus the blizzards in the car) was basically how my boyfriend and i's first date went😂♥️
