Tom and y/n began dating during high school, year 12 to be exact. they were madly in love, everyone could see that, they planned their whole future together, Tom had given her a promise ring at their graduation,

"y/n i promise to love you forever and always, i promise to support you through everything, to always be there for you, and that we'll go through everything together and to never ever hurt you or break your heart and to never be like him... i love you and i know.. well i know we're too young to get married so.."

that changed the next year. that next year he went off to film Captain America: civil war. y/n was so proud of him, not worried because she knew he loved her, she had a ring to prove it. y/n didn't have a very good life at home, so she spent most of her time at the Holland house, the family loved her.

Tom promised to call her, but he never did, she dismissed it, though, the boy was working on a marvel film as his favourite character, of course he'll be focused on that more than anything happening at home.
but she shouldn't have dismissed it at all.
while y/n was home, missing her loving boyfriend. he wasn't just filming... it wasn't his intention, but he had met another girl. Tyler. she was part of the crew and almost just like y/n-- but more..more.. physical. Tom, of course missed y/n and his home but being with Tyler was so good, so wild. despite regretting it all right after, he goes back to her. every. time.

"i'm home!" Tom called opening the door to his parents house
"Tom!" y/n, Tessa and Paddy were the first to greet him, with Tessa jumping up and down by his leg, Paddy jumping in his back and y/n snuggling into his chest with her arms around his waist "we were going to pick you up.." she mumbled "i know.. i took an earlier flight. missed you too much y/n" he mumbled into her hair "why do you smell like a girl?" Paddy chuckled from behind, making Tom heart drop "you sure it's not y/n you smell Pads?" he tried to laugh it off
"duh, its not y/n she basically lives here and smells different" she backed away, now also noticing the slight smell of girl perfume "probably just my hairstylist, she dropped me off at the airport, gave me a big hug before i had to go is all" he pulled y/n over
"i wouldn't cheat on you darling, i love you" he took her hand that had the promise ring on and smiled. of course she still kept it on "i love you y/n..so much, we should get an apartment of our own"
her eyes widened "that's..uh..that's a big step Tommy, you sure we're ready for that?" he nodded pursing his lips, "we basically already live together, just rotating houses from my parents and yours, so yeah, i'm so ready."
so they did, they, well more like Nikki, found them a place, nothing too far from both their family homes. "we're finally finished moved in" the couple huffed, falling on top of each other on the couch "got enough energy for some.. celebration in the bedroom?" Tom smiled, glancing at the girl next to him "you know what..i would love that"
"good" Tom laughed, picking her up by the legs to she would be facing Tom's back "Thomas! put me down!" she laughed, poking his butt "as you wish" he dropped her on to the bed then began to pepper her with kisses "i love you Thomas Stanley Holland"
"and i love you y/n y/m/n going to be Holland"

"y/n guess what!" Tom smiled walking through the front door excitedly, to see his girlfriend and dog cuddled on the couch sleeping "that's adorable.." Tom mumbled, happily before snapping a picture and making it both his lockscreen and homescreen, then quickly kissing the top of her head and making his way to the bathroom to take a shower
"Tyler, why are you calling me?" Tom sighed angrily into the phone "well i was thinking..how are we going to..you know, if we'll be filming in London, with your clingy girlfriend around, you know i don't even know why you--"
"I love her Tyler"
"then why do you always come back to me hm?" with that, Tom hung up.
"Tom?" y/n called groggy from her nap
"take a good nap darling?" he called back, walking out to see both his girls were awake now "mhm, the both of us" Tessa hopped off the couch and made her way towards Tom, turning her head to the side and sending him an odd look "hey princess, come on let's go sit with my queen yeah?" he lead the two of them on the couch and Tessa placed herself between the two of them. "hey, so shooting for Spider-man starts,and our first location is here actually so.." Tom began, waiting for his words to register in her mind
"wait here as in?.. you'll be here for a few months and then.." Tom nodded, "so you'll be home..with me?" again, Tom nodded, y/n threw herself into his lap and hugged him tightly "we'll also be going around Europe, everyone wanted to know if you'll come with us, maybe do some music videos" y/n nodded with teary eyes "hey..darling why the tears?" Tom chuckled "they're happy tears Tommy" he placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Thomas" Tyler taunted,"i thought you loved her? because that wasn't what you were saying last night" Tom swallowed harshly "that was the last time Tyler i swear-"
"you said that when you came to film homecoming, and that first time during civil war"
y/n heard this, she knew the cast and crew went out to party, but she wasn't feeling up for it and Tom didn't come up to their room last night so, she went to look for him. once she found him, she stood right behind the barely opened door and listened
"last night you told me that she never gives it to you, what kind of girlfriend is she Tom?" y/n looked down at her feet, trying desperately to not sob "you told me how much you prefer my body over hers anyways," Tom didn't reply, but if looks could kill, Tyler would be dead by now. "you said that you were going to break up with her to be with me."
"i--" Tyler was now smirking "c'mon Tommy, you know i'm far better than her in every way possible" y/n had heard enough and decided to leave; if Tom was cheating on her since civil war, and was about to break up with her anyways, she went back to her room and began packing her things as tears fell from her eyes. after she finished, y/n pulled out her laptop, looking for the earliest flights to London.
carefully, after Tom finally broke it off with Tyler, and getting her fired, he went up to his shared room, after unlocking the door, he saw how the closet was half empty and one of the luggage bags were missing "y/n?" Tom called.
He got no response, quietly he walked over to the bed, to see if maybe, just maybe she was still asleep. But what he saw scared him, the promise ring he gave to her that she never ever took off was sitting on the bedside table, usually when she wasn't wearing it on her finger, she'd wear it on a necklace she always wore.
What confused him though, was the paper underneath it, slowly he picked it up and began to read
I am way too young to feel this hurt, I would stay home staring blankly at the walls counting wounds and i tried to numb them all because as much as i missed you, i know you were doing what you loved .
Don;t you care Tom? Why don't you care? I gave you all of me, my blood, my sweat, my heart and my tears. Why don't you care?
I was there when no one else was, it was supposed to be me and you against the world and you.. I have questions for you Tom, number one; who do you think you are? You got some nerve trying to tear my faith apart.
Number two; why would you try to play me as a fool? Tom, you told me you loved me.. You told me that you would never cheat on me or hurt me. Ever
Number three; why weren't you who you swore that you would be? You gave me that promise ring, swearing you'll be mine and i'll be yours' swearing we'd marry in the end..but you lied
And Tom you have no idea how hurt or scared i am, after.. Him, after everything, my name was safest in your mouth, but now every time i think of you calling my name, all i can hear is venom.
How can we fix this Tom? How can we talk about this? When you've been doing this and hiding this from me for so long..
I honestly don't even know if i want to fix this..

Tom looked up from the letter, his eyes full of tears. his biggest fear is now turning to a reality, y/n was leaving him.
"Harrison!" Tom banged frantically on his friends door "Tom, mate it's our day off, why are you.." when Harrison rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, he got a good look at his friend, he looked panicked, hurt, and scared all at the same time "y/n..Haz she-shes gone! she left" Harrisons eyes widened "why? what? get in here" he quickly pulled his best friend into his room
"Tom, hey calm down..tell me what happened" Tom sniffled and pulled the ring out if his pocket "oh no..." Harrison mumbled "i deserve this. though" Tom thought aloud "i..she found out about Tyler..but Harrison i can't do this, not without her" Harrison sighed then pulled up his laptop
"i'm not saying she'll take you back..but she's going home, so you are getting your ass to the airport and you better tell her that you're sorry, that and you..you beg her for forgiveness and just hope for the best" Tom nodded, trying to catch his breath "what if she doesn't.." anxiety ticked through Tom's whole body "then you have to accept it" Harrison replied,"like you said Tom, you deserve this. you know how her life is like and you.." Harrison sighed while he stopped his sentence-- his best friend was going through enough already, he could lecture him later "come on,let's go try and get back the best thing that's ever happened to you"

Y/n sat in the airport alone,trying not to cry while deleting everything Tom related on her Instagram, that didn't go unnoticed by friends,family or the fans, people making theories about what happened "y/n!" The voice that once brought her comfort rung through the whole airport, slowly she stood up,debating to go to him or to run away and hide until her flight was called to go
"Please,wait..wait right there!" Tom called, running as fast as he could with blurry vision "what Tom?" She cried, as he got close enough to touch her "I-i am so sorry,I didn't mean to, I just..please" y/n laughed sarcastically "you.. of all people Tom, you know me the most, you know everything about me and you know the one thing that I can never forgive, and you did exactly that! You promised you'd never be like him but you did just that!" Tom opened his mouth to reply
"No! Okay you promised you'd never do what my father did to my mum. You helped me get through it and you..." y/n was cut off by her flight getting called "goodbye Tom" this time, he didn't protest. He knows he had done wrong and how much this had affected her "I love you y/n y/l/n..always and forever"
