It was the last day with Tom because he had to leave to go shoot for his new movie. Your family and his have decided to hangout at a waterfall before Tom had to go.

You all arrived at the tourist attraction and luckily it was a weekday so there weren't a lot of people. You and Tom were sitting on the rocks in your swimsuits by the waterfall, feeling the water hit your legs.

"I'm gonna miss you when you leave." You began, propping yourself up on the rock. Tom was throwing loose stones into the fall. "I'm only gonna be away for six months."

"Six months too long!" You exclaimed as you sat up. You turned to Tom and he was staring at the foam that was bubbling at the base of the fall.

"What do you think I'm gonna do without my best friend for six months?!" You threw your hands up halfway to get your point across. Tom turned to you and stared at you for a moment.

You felt your heart start to pace quicker. It was a usual feeling because you've always had a thing for Tom since the end of freshman year. Now sophomore year ended and you still have feelings for this British boy.

Since he's been acting in big movies lately, it's been hard to live through your feelings for him. Tom has been traveling a lot more when he was finished with Billy Elliot and it just made things harder. You always want to hang out with Tom, but of course you two had to work with schedules. Your feelings for this boy could not keep up.

And now since he's leaving again, you almost got used to the heartache of not seeing him for a while. It still hurt, but you never really said anything.

You also don't even know if Tom has the same feelings for you, or if he knows and doesn't want to mention it.

"You can always Skype me." Tom suggests with a friendly grin. That's what it always was between you two, friendly.

"If you'll pick up the call." You playfully scoff, feeling the water wash on your feet. You kicked it a little making it splash.

"I'll try harder. I know me leaving isn't always easy." Tom's voice goes down into a whisper. You nod while looking down at your feet in the clear freshwater.

"It isn't. When I say 'I miss you', I really do." What you meant is that instead of missing your best friend, you always miss the little things you two share. If it were the laughs or the inside jokes, it would always have a place in your heart and they would be hard to relive because of the distance between you two.

Nothing else was said, but the sounds of words were by both of your families from a distance. You and Tom were alone, away from the shore, but closer to the waterfall. The rock you both were sitting on was isolated from people.

"When you get famous, don't forget about me, okay?" You kicked your feet back and forth, adding onto the splashing sounds of the crashing water. Tom turned to you with worried eyes and furrowed brows.

"Never. You're my best friend." Tom gave you a big smile and you smiled back. But that smile didn't feel genuine.

'You're my best friend.'

Those words hit your stomach because you've always wanted to be more than that, even if it'll mean that Tom is miles and miles away.

But deep down in the pits of your soul, that little thought of Tom not liking you back was always there. You'd always push it away because hope filled most of your soul.

"I wish we were more." You said more to yourself. Before Tom could ask you to repeat what you said, you pushed yourself off of the rock and into the cold water, your whole body getting a shock of the temperature.

"What did you say?!" Tom asks in a plead. You shook your head while wiping your face of excess water. "Nothing. Jump down!!" You encouraged Tom while splashing the water with your arms.

"But it's cold!" Tom whined when he just dried off from earlier. "No it's not!" You gave out the lie with a giggle. "Thomassss." You cooed up at him.

Tom only looked down at you before rolling his eyes and pushing himself off the rock and into the water next to you.

He popped out of the water shaking his head, making his hair fly everywhere while also sprinkling water.

"Liar!!" Tom gasped as he felt the cold water hit his skin. You only laughed at the shivering boy as you were starting to get used to the temperature. "Ugh you're the worst!" Tom chuckled, his English accent coming through.

"You love me." You teased, hearing the waterfall next to you both. Tom shook his head as he brushed his long curly hair back. "You owe me!" You crossed your arms at his demand.

"Tell me and I'll give it to you." You urged, feeling your heart start to quicken again when Tom swam up closer to you. "Carry me all the way to the shore."

Looking up at the brunette, a small smirk pulled up the corner of his mouth and you rolled your eyes knowing that you can't pull yourself out of this one.

"Fine. We're in water anyways. It'll feel like I'm carrying a baby." Tom's mouth opened as you said the last part. "I am not a baby!" You scoffed in response to Tom's pout. "Yes you are. C'mon get in my arms you big baby." You joked. Tom rolled his eyes as he began to float on his back.

You put your arms under him, feeling the curves of his back muscles. Then you started swimming and walking at the same time to the shore.

These were the moments you cherished with Tom. Just being alone with him and being able to be yourself with him always took your feelings to the next level.

But you always kept them on the down low, fearing that you might ruin the relationship you already have with him. So you kept quiet about it. You didn't want some dumb teenage feelings to ruin anything.

And you will always be like that because, in the end, you love Tom and you don't want to mess up what you are lucky to have right now.

This wasn't as sad as I wanted it to be which is okay because I gotta change up my writing types. Also, this was set as an AU because it takes place when Tom was maybe 16 and it's not really set to be present day I guess ?¿ also does anyone know what movie the picture above this is from?
