Tears escaped your eyes as you opened the envelope. You handled the paper inside as if it was the most delicate thing in the universe and to you it was. Because on this paper were words written by your true love, the man you'd die for, except he already died for you.

'My dearest y/n,
There's a pit in my stomach, one that I cannot explain easily. I have a feeling that this ship won't reach its destination.'

"You alright, Loki?" You questioned. He sighed and looked at you, wrapping a slender arm around your waist and pulling you in. "Now that I'm with you, I'm amazing'

'Remember what I told you on the rainbow bridge all those years ago? Please remember it darling it's the most important thing right now'

'Y/n... I love you. And there is no ocean, no world, no universe that I will not tear apart to reach you. Remember that, because even if I died tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that, I am with you always.' He smiled, kissing your forehead

'I didn't lie to you that day. In fact I've told a lot of lies in my life but I never lied to you. Not one time.'

'Tell me the truth!' You shouted across the room. He stared at you, speechless. 'I am telling the truth' at that you sighed and walked out.

'If things go the way I predict, this will hurt you. If they don't, I'll be burning this letter afterwards. But darling please read these words  carefully'

You and Loki walked side by side through the garden. "The view is beautiful" you sighed, looking at the butterflies and roses. Loki's eyes were on you though "yes... it is."

'Dont waste your life crying over me. Please. I know it will be hard, but please don't spend years huddled over this letter. Live your life. Save people. It's what you do best after all'

"LOKI" you screamed as the metal that once held you fell to the ground. You scrambled to his side. He was limp. "Loki... please don't go.." you sobbed into his chest. "I still need you..." you whimpered.

'I love you. Don't ever forget that.

Goodbye my dearest love.'

You went to sleep curled up with that letter, but when you woke up you found it burning in the fireplace. Not moments after this there was a knock at the door and as you turned the knob and revealed the person behind it... for the first time in what felt to be ages

You smiled.

And he smiled back.
