Just a fun fact: Tolkien originally meant for Glorfindel to be the elf in the Fellowship, but he decided to do Legolas instead.

I'm very fond of Legolas, but isn't Glorfindel just cooler? I guess it was a good idea, and I'm glad Legolas was in the Fellowship, but Glorfindel would also have been a good idea. Grrrr. Evil indecisiveness.

I just wish that Glorfindel had had a bigger part in the story. There. My hearts desire on paper (Or screen) I mean, Captain of Gondolin. How cool is that.

*Gasp* Epicness embodied. I mean seriously people, he took down a balrog by himself (and died in the process, but so did Gandalf, and Gandalf was a Maiar). And he took care of the Ring-Wraiths. He's cool, people. And if you don't know who he is and you're a LOTR fan, then you've got a problem.
