"But why can't I just drop it off Ran?"

"Honey, I know you don't want my food to get cold I appreciate it, but I'm a little busy right now. I'll call you later when you can drop it off. Hmm? Oh yeah I'll be right there." You heard Ran speaking to someone else on his end. "I gotta go babe, we have a meeting. I'll call you later, I love you."

"Okay. I love you too." You sighed hanging up the phone.

This wasn't the first time Ran had said that you couldn't stop by to bring him food. You didn't understand, you get it, working in a successful business it's bound to get busy, of course, but why couldn't you just drop his food off and leave? Or in his down time between meetings and other things? Or simply drop them off in his office? Again you didn't understand.

You put his meal in the oven hoping it would stay somewhat warm until the unforeseeable time Ran decides to say you can drop it off. You tried to figure out ways to pass the time until Ran did call again. You were simply tidying up your house when your phone rang. You picked it up seeing Ran's co-worker Sanzu's ID pop up.

"Hello Sanzu, how are you?"

"I'm doing just fine, Ran's phone died unexpectedly but he wanted me to ask you if you could bring his lunch for him. Is that okay?"

"Yeah, thats perfect. Maybe it'll still be warm by the time I drop it off." You said hopefully.

"Lets hope. Anyway thanks (Y/N). Maybe we'll run into each other when you stop by."

"Maybe. Well tell him in on my way okay?"

"Absolutely. See you later. Bye."

"Bye bye." You hung up the phone putting it in your back pocket.

You grabbed Ran's food from the oven and grabbed a cold drink from the fridge. You packed everything in a bag before grabbing your car keys and leaving. You packed everything into the car and drove to the building. You pulled up and saw Sanzu standing outside. You grabbed Ran's lunch from the passenger seat before leaving your car.

"Hi again Sanzu." You smiled at him.

"Hello Mrs. Haitani." He joked.

"Nope still not married Sanzu." You chuckled.

"I can't believe he hasn't even proposed yet, the fuck is he waiting for? Oh, my apologies (Y/N), I didn't mean to let that out."

"No worries. Um where's Ran's office?"

"Oh about that, he had to go with Rindou to look at something but he asked me to pick you up and bring you along." Sanzu smiled at you.

"Oh really? He was never too keen on me hanging around for some reason."

"Well we usually handle pretty... difficult business but this isn't too bad. Come on, I'll drive you." He said.

You followed him to a black car with extremely dark tinted windows. He opened the passenger side door for you letting you get in before closing it behind you. Sanzu got in and soon was driving to wherever they were located. Sanzu and you made small conversation on the drive there but you mainly just wondered where the hell you were going. The buildings went from beautiful new and modern buildings to run-down and decrepit ones, almost creeping you out.

"Um Sanzu?"

"Yes?"

"Where are we going? These buildings look like they've been abandoned for years." You asked looking at him.

"We're almost there. They do business in some of these buildings."

"These?! But they're so..."

"Old? Yeah thats why. Older buildings are great for our business." He smiled at you.

You still questioned why such rich people would do business in such old buildings but you decided to drop it. Sanzu pulled into a parking lot of an abandoned building and helped you out of the car. He motioned for you to follow him and so you did.

"Watch your step sweetie, its easy to get tripped up with all the broken steps and all." Sanzu said looking back at you.

You tried your best to not trip but every now and then you'd tumble slightly.

"I know its kinda rocky but we're almost there." You heard a loud bang which made you nervous but Sanzu explained it was nothing to worry about.

You and Sanzu continued through the building walking up some very broken stairs. Once you reached the second floor you could see Rindou at the far end of the floor.

"Well its about time Sanzu! What the hell took you so- ARE YOU INSANE SANZU?" Rindou yelled.

"Rin come on what with the yelling?" The voice was Ran's but someone covered from head to toe in blood walked out.

No, that can't be Ran. Or if it was why was he covered in blood? What happened to him?

"Sanzu, why is she here? She can't handle this."

"She can't handle it, or she doesn't know about it?" Sanzu asked smirking.

"Know... know what?" You asked looking at the three of them.

"Do you know what Ran REALLY does for a living (Y/N)? Did he ever tell you?"

"Sanzu shut your mouth." Rindou said standing up.

"Why? She's always wanted to know what her boyfriend does right? Nows the perfect time to show her. Wanna know why he's covered in blood (Y/N)? Come on I'll show you." Sanzu said grabbing your hand.

He pulled you along to where Ran had stepped out of earlier.

"SANZU! DON'T YOU DARE OR I SWEAR-"

"YOU SWEAR WHAT? YOU'LL KILL ME? I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY." Sanzu smiled as he continued to pull you along.

He dragged you to a room and soon enough a harsh metallic smell filled your nostrils. Sanzu pulled you into the room and it had bodies laid out all over the floor covered in blood. You swore you were gonna throw up at the sight and smell that continued to fill your nose, you could almost taste metal. However as much as you wanted to move you couldn't, you were too scared to. You were so frozen with fear you couldn't even hear what Sanzu was yelling about, or to who.

You didn't understand though. Who are these people? Why are they here, and most importantly why were they dead?! Sanzu turned, bumping into you making you snap out of your state. Once you realized you were in a room of bodies and the three men around you definitely had ties to why they were dead you ran.

You dropped the bag that held Ran's food and ran straight for the stairs. Rindou attempted to grab you but you moved out of the way, running down the stairs as carefully as you could. You ran as fast as you could before you felt hands on your shoulders causing you to fall. You fell and rolled on the ground, your knees definitely cut up. You tried to stand up but someone held your ankle.

"Babe, babe stop please!"

"Ran get off of me!" You screamed trying to pry his hands off of you.

"No please. Just let me explain please!!" Ran begged.

"No!" You kicked Ran's hand off and began running again.

This time you made it out to the parking lot. You knew you couldn't take Sanzu's car for obvious reasons. In the time it took you to try and figure out if you'd make the run back to town Ran basically tackled you to the ground. Your body collided harshly with the ground and Ran was on top of you.

"Oh jeez babe I'm so sorry but I couldn't let you run away." Ran spoke.

"Please Ran I swear I won't tell anyone just please let me go. You'll never see me again I swear." You panic.

You could feel Ran's grip loosen on you.

"What? No I don't want to not see you. Just please let me explain and I'll tell you everything."

"I don't want to hear about what happened, just please Ran I'm begging you, please let me go." As you tried to wriggle away Ran tighten his grip on you.

"No. You're not leaving me." Ran said standing up and trying to pick you up with him. "I don't like violence, angel. Please don't make me do this." He said trying again practically yoking you up from the ground.

He brought you back inside the building and up to the second floor again.

"No Ran I don't wanna go in that room please!"

Rindou and Sanzu looked over in your direction seeing Ran drag you along with him.

"Rindou! Rindou please help me!!" You cried out.

"I'm sorry (Y/N), but I can't. Ran's my family and this is our job." Hearing this made you break down thinking this would be the last time you'd see anyone.

Ran pulled you into a room and blocked the door behind him.

"Baby, please... I can't live without you... I need you. Just let me explain everything. You ask and I'll answer whatever you want, please." Ran begged at your feet.

It was weird seeing Ran, someone who was so strong in your eyes, begging at your feet. It just never seemed like something Ran would do in a million years. He continued to beg for you to just hear him out. Even though less than five minutes ago you were trying to run away from him, something in your heart couldn't stand seeing Ran so distraught. You took a deep breath and patted his back making him look up at you.

"Stand up Ran."

"No please (Y/N). PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!" Ran begged almost clawing at your feet.

"We're going home Ran. I don't wanna see you like this, covered in someones blood."

"We-we're going? You're gonna come with me?!" He asked hopeful.

You nodded your head making Ran basically shoot up and grab your hand. You and Ran walked out and to the car heading home together.
