Serena woke up at 3pm in the afternoon oblivious to the day or date or anything else around her. She washes herself up and sits down at the table thinking of what she should do.

Upon seeing her phone she notices a lot of miss calls from Zen, as she is about to call him, her door bell rings and she walks up to her door and open it. She smiles awkwardly after seeing Zen standing there with an annoyed face

"Old hag" he yells.

"Ahaha that was so outta line dumbass" she laughs loudly.

"C'mon get dressed" he says as he makes himself comfortable at her home.

Serena stops her laugh "huh?"

"Don't huh me, I was right you are a old hag!" he says with a sigh.

"Tell me. Stop beating around the bush" she tells him very annoyingly.

"We're going to meet Maya didn't you tell him that yesterday so hurry up" he explains.

"Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh" she says excitingly and walks towards her bedroom and shuts the door. She immediately comes back out "Zen you do know that you have to tell Maya the complete truth right?" She asks seriously.

Zen sighs "Yes I haven't forgotten."

After a while they head out for James mansion and after a long ride under the clear blue sky and hot sun, they arrive. The guards let them in and at the entrance James stands there to welcome them.

"Welcome" James greets Serena and Zen.

The both of them walks past him without saying a word but Serena looks back at him and smiled and James turns his head away from her and thinks to himself.

Serena was so excited to meet Maya, to think she was the one girl that Zen didn't hate. They now were standing in front of her room door and Zen enters in and stands aside gesturing Serena to enter.

She enters and look toward the end of the room seeing a young beautiful girl with long brown hair resting on the pillow and was someone who looked the opposite of Zen. "I guess she look like her mom" she thinks and glances over at Zen who was sitting beside Maya and stroking her hair.

Maya opened her eyes after a while and happily smiled looking at Zen, He smiled back but had a sad look on his face with this Maya's smile disappeared.

"What is wrong brother?, why are you sad?" She spoke in sick voice.

"How you doing Maya?" He questioned.

"Better than before brother, The doctor said I'll be fine." She informed him.

Zen just looked at her for a while and then sighed, He pulled his chair closer to her bed and placed his hand on hers "Maya I have something to tell you, but please will you listen to me calmly?" He asked gently.

For Serena it was a sight to see, it was the first time she saw Zen look this way and speak this way.

As she stood at the corner of the door she smiled at the two siblings. Zen explained the whole thing to Maya and she had a shock expression on her face.

After Zen finished what he had tell her,  She bursted out in tears. Zen reached out his arms to pull her in for a hug but before he could, he was slapped by Maya.
Serena was shocked.

"How could you brother?, how could you leave me with such a sick man and his bitch?" She wept.

Zen tried controlling his tears and hugged her "I'm sorry Maya but I didn't have a choice" he spoke as his voice shivered.

"Dont worry Maya, we're gonna take you away from here soon" Serena told them as she walked closer.

Maya looked at Serena and then at Zen and asked "Brother who is this woman?"

Zen chuckled "She is one of my closest friend, She helped me yesterday. Actually she was the main leader here."

Maya looked at Serena and then look to the ground "Thank you miss" she said with a low voice.

Serena giggled "Don't call me miss, that's way too formal. Call me Serena."

Maya shyed as she looked to the ground and a smile formed her face. Zen held her hand "Maya you need to be here a while more, for now I'm living with a friend so I can't take you with me but soon I will."

"For now keep this with you" he hands over a cell phone to her "Call me whenever anything happens or when you just need to talk to me , alright?"

Maya smiled uncontrollably and held the phone close to her chest "Thank you brother".

Zen got up from his chair and placed his hand on her head "Bye Maya, we'll be back soon" he smiled gently at her and was leaving. Zen walked out the room and as Serena followed she was stopped.

"Excuse me miss" Maya called out to her.

Serena turned around and raised her brow and smiled

Maya knew what Serena meant by such actions and Spoke "umm Serena!"

Serena giggled "Yes Maya?"

Maya bowed her head to Serena "Please take of my brother"

Serena walked up to her and lifted her head and winked "Shit, don't bow and don't worry thats what I plan on doing. Ah I know, can I borrow your cell phone for a bit."

Maya handed her phone to Serena and was wondering what she was doing.

"There, my number is now saved. So now you can call me up for anything at anytime even if its late at night" she said while she widely smiled.

Maya smiled back "Thank you Serena"

Serena left the room and found Zen standing near listening to them.

"It's not good to eavesdrop" she smirked.

"Yeah yeah" he too smirked which followed with a smile "c'mon we're going to meet James."

"Okay" she agreed but was confused on why would Zen suddenly want to meet with his name sake father.

They meet with James and Zen asks him about what the doctor exactly said regarding Maya's health.

"Just a week more that she needs to be on bed rest after that it's only check ups every alternate days" he explains.

"Very well, I'll be taking her with me after her bed rest is complete but you will continue paying for the hospital bills" he informs him with a harsh voice.

"Its your duty so repent for your mistakes" Serena says coldly.

They both take their leave and head home, Serena invites Zen to her home and they sit and chat for a long time about maya.

Zen tells Serena all about how Maya was when was a child and everything else regarding her, likes and dislikes. After they finish their conversation Serena suddenly pops up a question.

"Zen where will you be staying when you get Maya?"

Zen sighed "I'm so stupid, I said that but I have no place to bring her to but I will be searching for rented apartments around some areas that I know."

"Ah" she simply said.

After a while Zen left and Serena was getting ready to go to bed. Her phone rang and she received a text message from Maya with a simple 'goodnight' and she smiled and replied back to her.

She layed in her bed thinking about tomorrow's day and what will it hold and with such thoughts she falls off to sleep.
