Hey, have you heard?

Kamome Gakuen has seven mysteries surrounding reported apparitions around the school premises.

The most famous story is the Seventh of the Seven Mysteries..

It's Hanako-san of the Bathroom.

According to the rumor, Hanako-san lives in the third stall in the girls' bathroom on the third floor of the old building. She grants a wish to anyone who summons her for a price.

To summon her, one need to knock on the third stall's door for three times and then say:

"Hanako-san, Hanako-san, are you there?"

If Hanako-san is there,she will answer a variation of "I am here."

You're lucky if she didn't ask for your life as the price for your wish. Think thrice if you are tempted to summon Hanako-san or else.. you might just have your soul taken away.

Yugi Amane sigh as he close his notebook. The school bell is ringing outside signalling the end of classes for the day. He stood up from his seat and run a hand through his hair.

"Finally. Classes are over."--Yamabuki Lemon, a male classmate and Amane's close friend said from behind him

"Did you even listen to any of the lessons we've had for today? I won't lend you my notes this time."--Amane said as he raise his eyebrow at Yamabuki who only shrug

"Amane-kun! Yamabuki-kun! We'll see you tomorrow!"--Aoi, a blue-haired girl and one of Amane's classmates said before waving and walking out of the classroom

"See you, Aoi-chan."--Amane said as he start to put his things back in his bag

"I did listen. For a bit. Anyway, you lost the game, Amane."--Yamabuki said with a smirk

"What game?"--Amane said, pretending not to know what his close friend is talking about.

"Come on, don't even pretend to not know what I'm talking about. You lost against me in a game of Hanafuda cards during lunch, now you get to do one thing as consequence."--Yamabuki said

"Ugh. Do I have to? It's just a game."--Amane said as he grab his bag and walk out of the classroom. Yamabuki followed after him.

"It's your idea, Amane. A deal is a deal. So you HAVE to."--Yamabuki said

"Fine. What do you want me to do?"--Amane said

"I want you to go to the old building. Go to the third floor's girls' bathroom and try to summon the ghost of Hanako-san."--Yamabuki said with an evil smirk

"Pervert."--Amane said, making Yamabuki's face red.

"Shut up! Just do it! Or, do you want to do something else? Like, run around the school wearing a tutu and shouting "I'm a pervert"? So, what do you want? Summon Hanako-san or wear a Tutu?"--Yamabuki said

"Fine. I'll try to summon Hanako-san. But if I die because of Hanako-san or because someone saw me enter a girls' bathroom, I'll kill you while you're sleeping."--Amane said, glaring towards Yamabuki who only grin.

Suddenly, Amane heard a voice calling his name and turn to the source of it just to be tackled by the owner of the voice. It's his younger twin brother, Tsukasa.

"AMANE!!"--Tsukasa said cheerfully

"T-Tsukasa. Do you really have to tackle me to the ground?"--Amane said as he tried to sat up

"Classes are over! Let's go home now!"--Tsukasa said, standing up before helping Amane stand up

"Wait a second. Yamabuki?"--Amane said before turning to face his close friend again.

"Ah, you can do it tomorrow. See you, Amane."--Yamabuki said before waving goodbye

"What is he talking about, Amane?"--Tsukasa said as he cling to his older brother

"Ah, it's nothing. He just needs my help with his Earth Science project."--Amane said as a lie to cover up

"Oh. Never mind that! Let's go home! Mom said that she'll cook our favorite food for dinner!"--Tsukasa said while pulling his brother's arm

"Okay, okay. Let's go home, Tsukasa."--Amane said

"Yay!"--Tsukasa said

Next day after classes, Amane made Tsukasa go home first before going to the entrance of the old building with Yamabuki.

"If something bad happens, just scream."--Yamabuki said

"If something bad happens, don't forget that this is your idea in the first place so don't blame me."--Amane said

"Okay,okay. Just be careful."---Yamabuki said pushing Amane inside the building.

Amane sigh before looking ahead of him. He started walking towards the stairs to the upper floor while looking around with caution.

The interior of the old building is not bad, in fact it's surprisingly intact and seemingly clean. There's no broken doors nor a single hole on the floor. Not even a spider web can be seen.

"Not what I expected.. I thought the old building will be more like the dirty places in horror movies."--Amane said to himself as he continue to climb up the stairs to the third floor.

Suddenly, Amane felt a chill run down his spine and he immediately stiffen.

"Calm down, calm down, calm down."--Amane said, trying to pacify himself

Sweat begin to build on Amane's forehead as he walk the hallway of the third floor towards the girls' bathroom.

With each step, he felt his feet getting heavy and his breath getting difficult.
Yet, Amane continued towards the girls' bathroom.

Finally, after a few minutes Amane stood in front of the third stall of the girls' bathroom.

"I can't believe I'm doing this because of just losing a Hanafuda game. Yamabuki, I'm definitely going to have you pay me back big time for this."--Amane said before lifting his fist

~Knock! Knock! Knock!~

"Hanako-san, Hanako-san, are you there?"---Amane said

A few seconds of silence passed..

Amane thought that Hanako-san doesn't really exist.. Until..

The door of the third stall slightly open and slender fingers emerge, gripping the edge of the door. Amane unconsciously gulp and took a step back.

"Yes.. I am here.."--a chilling voice said making Amane frozen

"This is it. I'm going to die.."--Amane thought before hastily closing his eyes

Amane slowly open his eyes after a few minutes of waiting for something that he thought will take his life away, but instead he only saw an empty stall. Amane sigh in relief.

"What the.. I guess it's just my eyes playing tricks on me."--Amane said before he felt a hand touch his shoulder

"Over here.."--there's the chilling voice from earlier

"No.. No.. NO!!"--Amane shout before turning around to push the owner of the hand away.

However, Amane's hands pass through the owner like he pushed a wall of air. Due to shock, Amane lost his balance and slipped causing him to fall on the cold floor.

A chuckle emit in front of Amane causing the boy to look up.

"Are you okay?"--the voice said

Amane immediately stand and back away. He took a somewhat fighting stance as he stared at the other.

"A see-through body.. Wearing an old uniform.. And ghostly orbs.. T-There's no mistake. You.. You are.."--Amane said

"I'm an Apparition."

The being in front of him smiled before floating back on the stall and sitting on the top of the toilet bowl's flush tank.

"The Seventh of the Seven Mysteries.."--the being said

Amane felt a lump forming in his throat.

"I'm Hanako-san of the Bathroom. Pleased to meet you."--the being said before floating in front of Amane again.

Meanwhile, at the entrance of the old building stood Yamabuki who have a worried look on his face.

"Come on, Amane.. What is taking you so long?"--Yamabuki said as he check his phone for the time.

"Hey,Yamabuki! What are you doing there?! It's already after-school hours, you're supposed to be at home now!"--a teacher said from the a distance

"Yikes! It's Tsuchigomori-sensei!"--Yamabuki thought as his worried look got replaced by fear

"Did you hear what I said,Yamabuki Lemon? Go home now. It's getting late."--the aforementioned teacher said as he approach the boy

"B-But, Sensei.."--Yamabuki said

"What is it?"--Tsuchigomori said

"A-Amane is still inside the building.."--Yamabuki said

"Amane? Yugi Amane? Why is he inside the old building?"--Tsuchigomori said as he glance at the building

"Uhm.."--Yamabuki said, averting his eyes away

"Don't tell me.. What did you made him do this time, Yamabuki?"--Tsuchigomori said

"I.. I.."--Yamabuki said, unable to voice out his stupid idea of making Amane summon a ghost

"This is getting us nowhere. Go home now. I'll take care of Yugi Amane. Don't do this to him again or you're gonna get detention. Understood, Yamabuki?"--Tsuchigomori said

"Y-Yes. I'm so sorry, Sensei. I'll be going now."--Yamabuki said before bowing and running away

Once the boy is out of sight, Tsuchigomori glance at the old building once again before smirking and walking away.

"So the day came.."

"Y-You're Hanako-san?"--Amane said as he stare at the ghost's appearance

"Ping-pong! That's right!!"--Hanako said cheerfully

The girl has a waist-length light-cream colored hair that fades to teal-green at the tips and bright magenta eyes that have flecks of gold.

She's wearing an old long-sleeve black uniform with golden buttons and red lining on the edges. She also wears matching black pants and black shoes. A hat with a golden ornament on the center and a short tiny red rope under it is on the top of her head.

"You're lying."--Amane said

"Eh?"--Hanako said

"Where's your bob cut hair and red skirt?"--Amane said, rising an eyebrow

"Ehhh, that stuff is really out of fashion these days. Besides, I can move freely with this."--Hanako said as she bend her body into a semi circle.

"Fashion?"--Amane thought

"Anyway, I didn't expect that a boy would summon me. You're not a pervert, are you?"--Hanako said, making Amane's face crimson

"I'm not a pervert! Jeez, I'm just--"--Amane said, but he was cut off by the apparition

"Okay, I get it. You can call me Hanako-chan or Hana-chan. Other than the facts that I don't have a bob cut hair and aren't wearing a red skirt, the rest of the rumors are true."--Hanako said as she beckon the ghostly orbs closer to her.

"Oh, really? So you do grant wishes?"---Amane said, crossing his arms

"Yes, I do. You've got one, right? Tell me what it is."---Hanako said

"Oh, I don't have a wish."--Amane bluntly said

Silence loom over the bathroom..

.

"You don't have one?!!! Then, why did you summon me?!"--Hanako shouted as Amane raise his hands in defense

"Actually, I lost to a game against a friend and as consequence I have to do one thing he wanted. He ordered me to try summoning you."--Amane said

"What?! You just summoned me as a consequence?! That's it?! You didn't summon me out of curiosity or because you want a wish granted?!"--Hanako said

"Yeah. I won't ever summon you out of curiosity because someone might see me enter a girls' bathroom and I don't want to live in shame. Besides, it's really tiring to climb the stairs from the first floor to here."--Amane said

Hanako felt a bunch of imaginary arrows piece through her as Amane's words sink in. She felt her knees go weak making her fall to the floor in disbelief.

"U-Unbelievable.. That's so blatantly honest that it hurts my pride as the Seventh Mystery."--Hanako said

"H-Hey.. Are you okay,Hanako-san?"--Amane said as he attempt to reach out to help the fallen apparition.

"What's your name?"--Hanako said softly

"Eh? Its Yugi Amane."--Amane said as Hanako stood up.

"Yugi-kun.. I never met a human like you who's unbelievably insane."--Hanako said as she brush a strand of her hair away from her face

"H-Hey! I'm not insane!"--Amane said,getting flustered.

"I'm joking. Anyway, are you sure you don't have any wish you want me to grant?"--Hanako said

"Yes. I'm pretty much content with my current life. Is this some kind of candy, Hanako-san?"--Amane said as he raise his hand holding a flat bluish-white stone for the ghost to see

"That is..! Where did you get that?!"--Hanako said, her eyes immediately widening at the stone

"I picked this up earlier when you fell on the floor. It tumbled out of this little bag because the knot came undone when you fell."--Amane said before popping the stone into his mouth

"H-Hey! Don't eat it!"--Hanako said, panic written on her face

"What? It's mint candy,right?"--Amane said before swallowing the stone

"Ah! No! Yugi-kun, why did you swallow it?! Stupid!"--Hanako said

"I..It's not candy?"--Amane said

"Of course it's not candy, Idiot! It's a Mermaid Scale!"--Hanako said, making Amane's eyes widen in fear

"A..A Mermaid Scale?! Then, why didn't you say so?!"--Amane said

"I tried to warn you! I said don't swallow it! But you still did!"--Hanako said

"What will it do to me? Is it poison? Am I gonna die?!"--Amane said, dread pooling at his gut

"No. But you'll be cursed.Those who swallow a Mermaid's Scale will be cursed but also united by a strong bond."--Hanako said

"C-Cursed?! In what way?!"--Amane said, trying to spit out the stone

"Well, see for yourself. Take this container and fill it to the brim with water. Then pour it all over yourself."--Hanako said, handing a medium-sized basin to Amane who quickly took it.

Following Hanako's instructions, Amane filled the basin with water and poured it all over himself. Seconds later, Amane saw little scales begin to appear on his arms. 

"Ahhh! What the hell is this?!"--Amane said trying to brush off the scales

"Those are scales. Soon, you'll turn into a fish."--Hanako said

"Eh?!!"--Amane said before passing out

A few minutes later, Amane woke up to see himself in water. 

"W-Where am I?"--Amane said in a squeaky voice

"Tada!!"--Hanako said cheerfully

"A-Am I in an.. an...an aquarium?!!"--Amane

"Yup! You've successfully transformed into a fish, Yugi-kun! And got yourself cursed."--Hanako said as she held up the aquarium in front of a wall mirror.

"WHAT?!!!!"--Amane scream in terror
