Neo hummed in his sleep as he woke up. Blinking his eyes, he looked around. He was still in the nest, but that's not what would put a smile on his face.

It's who was also in it that made him happy.

Neo: Hello pretty lady~

Eda mumbles something as she rested her head on his side shoulder. Resting on his lap like an actual cat was a snoozing Lue with a sleeping King on her back.

Neo: Kittens.

Luz mewed in her sleep as she rubbed her head against his legs while King mumbled orders.

King(half asleep): Mm... obey me... do as I say...

Neo strokes Eda's hair gently.

Eda smiled in her sleep as she relaxed, loving the affectionate gesture. His soothing petting put her at ease, his fingers going through her hair.

Neo: Morning Eda.

Eda(mumbling): Mm, morning Neo...

...

!!!!!

Eda's eyes opened in shock as she sat up. Looking over, she saw a grinning Neo. When she did, she went red in seconds.

Neo well a girl next to me in bed been a while since that has happened

Eda: I'MSORRY!!!

Eda shouted in embarrassment as she tried to escape the nest. But her foot got stuck and she fell forward.

THUMP!!

Luz woke up in surprise with her tail on end.

Luz: HISSSS!!!

King jumped up as he started swinging at the air.

King: I shall not be beaten!!

Neo: Normally I'd have my shirt off but that can still be arranged.

He said with a teasing tone, which made the Owl Lady very embarrassed.

Eda: NO!! No, t-that's not necessary!!

Eda(thinking): I could not handle it if I did see it.

She's admired the man since she was a little girl. She even had a small crush on him, but thought it'd never happen. But hearing him openly flirt with her was too much for her to handle at once.

Neo: Oh well.

Neo stood up and stretched.

Neo: You got a good body yourself.

Eda blushed brightly as she stood up, brushing the twigs and leaves on her pajamas. Luz started grooming herself while Eda talked.

Eda: O-oh stop, I'm a mess...

Neo: All the right curves to fit a sassy attitude.

Eda was certain she'd faint from all the compliments.

Eda: T-thank you Neo... y-you look great yourself!!

Neo: You know they made posters of me shirtless.

Eda looked "surprised".

Eda: O-oh, they did?!

Of course she knew they made them. She in fact still had every version to this day. Course she had them hidden in a very secure place no one will know.

Neo: If you wanna see the real thing I'll be more than happy to show it.

OK, the witch was certain he was messing with her.

Eda: W-why don't we save that for later?! I-I have a busy day at my stand!

Luz yawned as she sat up.

Luz: Mm, I'm hungry.

Later:

At the stand Luz was chasing a bird.

Luz: Get back here!!

Course she thought it was a bird for whatever passed for birds here. As she did, Eda dusted around her stand as King read one of Luz's Azura books.

Luz soon caught it.

Luz: AHA!! I've got you!!

Eda: Watch where you eat, those things are full of teeth.

Luz rose a brow as she looked at the creature. She saw the bird squeak as it opened its mouth. There, she saw rows of razor sharp teeth.

Luz: Gah!!

She was so surprised she let go, the bird flying away.

Luz: Wait!! Oh darn it!!

Luz let out a sad sigh before she went searching for more prey.

As she did, she noticed the area smelling more... empty. Like a majority of what's usually there is gone. Looking up, she saw something that confused her.

Luz: Um, Eda?

Eda: Yeah yeah, don't eat the mouse kid.

Luz: It's not that.

Eda: Then what is it?

Luz: Where is everyone?

She asked, looking at the completely empty rode. The only people there were the 3 of them.

Which was weird.

Usually the streets were packed with random creatures selling different items and foods. Even if they weren't selling, the stands were usually still there.

Why they were ALL gone confused the cat girl.

She went back to the stand to look to her mentor.

Eda frowned as she looked side to side.

Luz: What does this mean Eda?

Eda: This is a bad omen... something terrible is happening...

?: LUZ!!

Looking over, teacher and apprentice saw Willow and Gus running towards them.

Gus: Something amazing is happening!!

Luz was now curious for what this meant and if it was as bad as Eda is implying or good based on how excited her friends were.

Luz: Why, what's going on?

Willow opened a small, rolled up poster.

Willow: Today is the Annual Covention!!

Meanwhile:

A figure was enjoying a sinnamon bun.

Being one of the few times he actually goes out into town, Neo wore a long cloak as to hide his face as he ate.

Neo: Delicious.

Knowing what will happen today, he was glad to have the freedom to walk around freely without scaring people.

He was disappointed that alchemy wasn't a coven anymore.

Belos was probably annoyed that more people joined that originally than his own Coven.

With how powerful, and dangerous, alchemy was, it was only a matter of time before someone couldn't handle it.

He just waited until something interesting happened.

?: WHAT?!?!

Raising a brow at the shout, Neo was confused. The streets should be completely empty. But what confused him more was who shouted it.

Neo: Huh?

Looking around one of the stands, he saw a frankly adorable sight.

Luz was happily chatting and exploring every Coven in sight with boundless joy. Beside her stood 2 children, a boy and girl, her age. Next to them was a reluctant, aggravated Eda with her hair stuck in a hood.

Seems that the group decided to check out the Covention.

He pet one of the kittens in the Tiny Animal's Coven.

The tiny animals mewed at his touch and how he held them gently in his hands.

A bit later:

Neo has started exploring more of the Covention. From the very old ones, to the newer ones, and the more bizarre ones.

He laughed a little at the sight of King running around, accepting "offerings" from the stands.

Soon he was in the back row of the Emperor's coven demonstration.

He didn't really pay that much attention, just tapping his fingers. He was only interested with who this "surprise guest" was.

He didn't need to wait long as Principle Bump ended his speech.

Bump: And now, you know her, you love her! The new head of the Emperor's Coven, LILITH!!

He shouted excitedly as a glowing blue raven appeared in the upper parts of the stadium.

Neo: One of fathers lap dogs.

While he didn't have much against the Coven or the people, his father made them change into obedient workers who don't go against his very word.

It made Neo sick with how far some of these even went to join the Coven.

He waited for the Q&N portion.

It took a good 20 minutes after Lilith explained her origins, what it means to be apart of The Emperor's Coven, and what they're capable of.

When it finished, he made his way down through the shadows. Literally, like walking through a portal and exiting through another part.

Neo sat at a table with a downward look, staring at the table.

Neo: The golden age is gone...

The age of free, wild, in controllable magic was gone. In its place was a strict, unfair, and biased system.

The "progress" the world made from it was almost laughable. People were more powerful and capable of so much more without Glyph magic.

It's just that Belos is a control freak and doesn't want any contenders to his throne.

Neo: Oi vey...

?: Neo? Is that you under that hood?

Neo: Huh?

Looking up, he saw Luz and Eda standing by his table. Earlier when they were walking by, they recognized his voice.

Eda: What're you doing here? I thought you weren't one for crowds.

Neo: I like sinnamon buns.

Luz: Really? Don't they sell them somewhere else?

She asks since she doesn't know exactly how comfortable he is in a place like this.

Especially with the Emperor's Coven.

Neo: They taste best here.

Eda and Luz rose a brow and shared a look of confusion, before shrugging.

Eda: Alright.

Luz: Well how are you doing regardless?

Neo: Saw my fathers new lapdog named Lilith.

Eda both sneered at the name and laughed at what he called her.

Eda: Ha, nice!

Luz: I'm sure she's not that bad...

Eda: Yes she is.

Neo: You know her?

Eda rubbed her eyes while Luz looked at her with wide, sparkly eyes.

Eda: Unfortunately.

Luz: Mysterious past!!

Neo: Interesting...
