Luz purred as she lightly snored on the couch, curled around Sugar Bear, both asleep.

Eda smiles as she grabbed a blanket, draping it over her.

Neo sleep in the nest as the rain hit the ground.

He had to admit that the nest was very comfortable to rest in. Added the sound of the rain it was very soothing to him.

The only thing better would be a nice lady to share it with.

Said lady had just silently entered the room and went to slowly grab her elixir.

Eda(thinking): Perfect~

Neo: Zzz...

Eda smiled as she saw Neo happily sleep on her bed. It was a relief to know that he was comfy in her nest.

She's be even more embarrassed if he ended up hating it.

Neo(in his sleep): Soft feathers...

Eda's eyes widened as she heard that.

Eda(thinking): How'd he know?!

Shaking it off, she went back to her objective. Popping the cork, she began drinking the glowing liquid. Had she paid attention, she would've noticed the jar's tag fly off and land on Neo's chest.

An hour later, Neo woke up.

Sitting up with a yawn, he smiled at how relaxed his body felt. Gripping the blanket, he noticed something under his hand. Lifting it up, he saw a tag stuck to his palm.

He read it.

"An Elixir A Day Keeps The Curse At Bay"

Neo: Where did this come from?

Looking around the room, his eyes fell on the empty bottle from earlier. Squinting his eyes, he sat up, placing the tag loop over the bottle lid.

It fit perfectly.

Neo: Uh oh...

Eda's lie from earlier made more sense now as he stood up. She was probably too nervous to say that she was cursed.

Thing is though, WHAT was her curse?

Neo noticed it was kinda dark even though it was afternoon.

That put him on edge as he walked over to the door, his hand grabbing Orion while walking out the room.

Slowly he moved.

The light of his staff illuminated the dark hall as he lightly stepped as to not make a sound.

Neo wasn't scared of things, but his survival instinct made him cautious.

His eyes scanned the barely lit hallway, soon making it down the stairs where he heard the rain louder than before. Looking to the side, he saw the door bursted open.

And Hooty was unconscious.

Neo: Oh no...

He quickly walked over to see if Hooty will be OK. When he got closer, he saw very deep cuts against and near his head.

Neo:Where are Luz and King?

Waving his staff around the floor, he saw more claw marks on the floor. While they were of interest, he first needed to locate and secure his apprentice and that small demon.

Wait, speaking of apprentices...

Neo: Where is Eda?

Surely the Owl Lady could stop whatever caused this mess.

If whatever it is is in the house, he'll need to keep his guard up.

He smelled cat hair.

Luz seemed to be close and he had to find her. She could be in trouble, scared, and confused.

He needed to find her.

He moved throughout the house following his nose.

Having trained for years in both magic and survival training, he was good at tracking and able to distinct any animal no matter where they are.

Hey saw a cat tail.

It waved more like the creature was scared and shaking in place. The entire body shook while the tail moved along with it.

Neo(whispering): Luz, it's me, Neo.

The tail stiffened as the owner of it moved into the light. When she saw Neo, Luz lunges forward against his chest.

Luz(whisper yell): NEO!!!

She hugged his chest tightly as tears streamed down her face in fear, happy to know she's next to someone who'll keep her safe.

Neo pets her, before looking her straight in the eyes with a serious look.

Neo: Luz, what's going on?

Luz looked up at him with tears in her eyes.

Luz: I-it's Eda!

Neo: What..?

CRASH!!!

Neo instantly held Luz close and aimed his staff at the noise.

GROWL~!!!

Standing near the far end of the room was a large, feathery creature. It's entire body was dark grey with lanky arms and legs with sharp claws on them.

But it's face stuff out, looking very familiar with pointed ears, a gold tooth, and entirely black eyes.

Neo: Run, I'll hold her off!

Luz: Y-you aren't going to hurt her are you?!

Neo: I know what to do.

Luz: W-well don't hurt her, please!

With that final plea, she and soon King ran away, leaving Neo to stare down the Owl Beast.

Neo: I'm sorry eda, "Spirits of the Underworld, Rise"

C-CRACK!!!

The Owl Beast growled as ghostly hands bursted from the ground. They extended high enough to snare the creature, holding her down.

GROWL~!!!!

Eda screeched in pain as she held down while Neo slowly walked closer.

Neo: "In the name all medicine and health, I call to heal this beast, to return them to their natural form"...

S-SHINE~!!!!!

A bright light shined from Neo's staff, blinding the beast.

SCREEEEEEEEeeeeee~.....

The monstrous scream slowly died down and grew quieter. It went from that of a monster, to that of a tired woman.

The light fading, it revealed Eda on her knees, slightly dazed, soon falling forward on her face. Neo walked over, gently patting her back with a sad look over her face as she twitched in her sleep

Neo: I'm sorry Eda...

Later:

Eda: Uuuughh....

Eda's eyes slowly opened as her head throbbed painfully. She tried to sit up, but felt a weight on her lap.

Eda: What the?

Looking down, she saw Luz and King laying on her lap, sleeping peacefully. The sight made her smile, but also confused her.

Eda: It happened again...

Neo: A beast curse.

!!!!

Eda looked around in worry, seeing Neo stand near the door of her room. His back against the wall as he held the empty jar in his hand.

Eda: NEO!!! I-I didn't hurt you, d-did I?!

She couldn't care about him knowing about her curse, she was more worried if she hurt him.

Neo: No, I'm just drained. It took a lot of magic to subdue you, very taxing on my heart.

Eda: Oh Titan... I-I'm so sorry...

She wasn't used to apologizing, but when it came to her curse, it was a given. Course that also worried her with how Neo may think of her.

Eda: So... now that you know... you're probably disgusted with me... everyone is...

Neo. I'm not. You're just like me, misunderstood.

Ed's looked at him with wide eyes as he stood in front of her.

Eda: R-really?

Neo: Yes, I'm a hazbin, long past his prime with outdated techniques.

Eda: No you're not!

Gently pushing a still asleep Luz and King off her, she wobbly stood up.

Eda: Believe me, I've checked any other witch to help with this curse, but they couldn't do a thing! Your method helped me quicker than my elixir did!

Neo: It'll hold back the curse, but only the person who put it on you can remove it.

Eda frowned as she looked to the floor.

Eda: That'll be hard, it happened when I was asleep. I didn't see who it was.

Neo squinted his eyes as he stared at Eda's head.

But he was to drained to see much.

Neo: You know, you're kinda hypocritical when you tell Luz she can't eat mice when you eat mice.

Eda: I spit them up! Also I don't enjoy it!!

Neo: Just saying, a cat girl likes to hunt mice and birds.

Eda: AND fish, that of which she likes eating.

Neo: Uhh... my chest could you help me up, please?

Eda: Huh?

Looking closer, she noticed his brow covered in sweat and he was slightly hunched over.

Eda: O-oh yeah, sure!

She gripped his shoulders and chest, holding him up.

Neo: It looks like the rain isn't letting up so I'll have stay the night

Eda nodded as she looked out the window.

Eda: Yeah... sorry again for... wasting your magic on me...

With his magic, he could easily made a shield for himself back to his home. But with how drained he was, it couldn't be possible for him to do it.

Neo: It's fine, anything for a student.

Eda grinned happily hearing that, living a dream being taught by her idol.

Eda: Thank you. You can use my bed if you want...

She looked back to see Luz and King asleep.

Eda:... I mean if you're fine sharing...

She didn't have the heart to wake them up after such a stressful day.

Neo I'd like that
