I walked over to mom. "It'll be okay." I said. A text came through. I read it. I broke down. I ran to the park. I sat down on the bench and cried. Just then I saw Ethan. He saw me and came over to me. "What happened?" He asked. I told him everything. How people have been texting mean stuff to me. After I was done talking, Ethan sat down next to me. "Before you say it. I'm just going to say that you do have friends. You have me." He said. "Thanks." I said. "You don't need to keep thanking me." Ethan said. He looked down. "I've been keeping a secret from you." I said. "What's that?" Ethan asked. "You know on the first day I said I had no one. I was dating someone but we broke off our relationship shortly after." I said. Ethan laughed. "Why are you laughing?" I asked. "I knew you two broke up." Ethan said. "How?" I asked. "Your mom told me." Ethan said. We got up to go home. When we got home, I went inside. The next day, I felt dizzy and nauseous. My mom kept me home. Ethan came over to visit me after school. The next day I was feeling better. I went to school. When I got to school everyone was laughing. I went to my locker. I stopped short. My locker had a picture of me crying. The word baby was underneath it. I looked at Ethan and ran out of the school. I checked my phone. There was a new video. It was saying that if someone happened to earn enough money the school would find a way for me to actually have a life or something like that. I disliked the video. This whole thing was getting way out of hand. Someone came over to me. It was Ethan. "Do you even know what's going on?" I asked. "Yeah." Ethan said. He sat down next to me. Someone came over to us and snapped a picture. I wasn't paying attention. Just then a text came through. I turned to Ethan. "How come you're not in school?" I asked. "I felt like you were more important. I told a teacher where I was going. They said that I'd have to make up any work. And I said I didn't care." Ethan said. "Well I'm actually glad you're here." I said. "If you ask me this has gone out of hand." Ethan said. "You don't say." I said. "Remember when we took a break?" Ethan asked. "Yeah." I said. "Maybe you need to do that again. Today after school." Ethan said. "I couldn't agree more." I said. We went back to school. After school Ethan came to my locker. "I'm ready." I said. "Let's go." Ethan said. I texted my mom and told her. She replied back telling me to be home before eleven thirty. I told Ethan and silenced my phone. We left the school. We went to the movies. After the movie we went to grab something to eat. We went to a pizza place. We were having so much fun just hanging out by ourselves. Ethan is so easy to talk to and he makes me laugh. I told him about when a time when I was little and he laughed. I checked my phone. It was seven thirty. We left the pizza place and went to get some ice cream and walked around some more. We started talking about school. I told him that my eighteenth birthday was coming up. He asked when and I told him. After hanging out, we headed home. We reached my house. "I had fun." Ethan said. "So did I." I said. "Maybe we can do this again." Ethan said. "I'd like that." I said. Ethan looked at me. I walked to the door. "Carly?" Ethan began. I turned around. "Yeah?" I asked. "There's something I've meaning to tell you." Ethan said. "What's that?" I asked. "I like you." Ethan said. "I know." I said. "No. I like like you. As in I have feelings for you." Ethan said. I looked at him. "What are you getting at?" I asked. "You're the only one I want." Ethan said. "Like date?" I asked. "Yeah." Ethan said. "I'll think about it." I said. "Okay." Ethan said. "Good night." I said. "Night." Ethan said. "I'll call you." I said. "Okay." Ethan said. He hugged me and left. I stood there for awhile then I went inside and shut the door.
