The feeling of dread Anne got seeing Ominis laying in Sebastian's bed almost hurt as much as the curse. In the few hours he would stay awake, he'd maybe roll over but he'd never get up, his body lifeless. She'd sometimes hear him sob softly, the sheets shaking with his shoulders.

Everyday she leaves a sandwich in the afternoon for him, placing the plate just above his hands so he finds it easily and though she never sees or hears him, she always finds the plate empty at some point, same with the water glass.

The first couple months after Sebastian got sent to Azkaban were the worst. She had her own guilt to deal with already but Ominis not eating or sleeping made it worse. She had to be the one to send him away. Her hands shook when writing to Hogwarts about how Ominis will be taking a few weeks off. It's been months.

She held Ominis as she watched Sebastian get in the cartridge. Ominis writhed, yelling out to Sebastian. All three of them had tears streaming down their cheeks. Ominis remembers hearing the cartridge take off, the last call of his name coming from Sebastian being the only thing playing in his mind since.

However, all Anne remembers is Ominis yelling until his voice was hoarse, she had barely heard him raise his voice before. Listening to him mutter to himself on the walk back hurt too. "It's not real.", "he's still with me", "he's right here.", things like that. She remembers the next day when she got up she heard him softly ask when Sebastian was coming back, bringing her back to when her parents died. She was always more mature than Sebastian, she understood they were gone while he struggled with the concept. She remembers kissing Ominis' head, hushing him and regrettably whispering "soon...I..." She stutters as she almost promises.

Ominis remembers still crying as they got home. He threw off his blazer and waistcoat, kicked off his shoes and fell into Sebastian's bed, crying into his pillow until his throat felt like it was bleeding. He woke up the next morning to Anne sitting on the end of his bed, her eyes wet with tears and her hand over her mouth as she tried not to sob too loudly. She was met with a tight hug, both of them sitting in each other's arms for goodness knows how long.

Ominis didn't even worry if his family found out that he had stopped going to school. They never liked Sebastian, his siblings adding it to the things to make fun of him for.
Anne was his only family now, and he could never truly ask for a better friend. She's caring, kind, understanding and perfect, Ominis likes to think.

She's gotten Ominis to get out of bed a few times. She washed him fresh clothes and gave him Sebastian's tie, only realising after that the only way she's going to get that off of him now is to either force him or sneak it off while he's asleep. They've also gone on walks, they went to Hogsmeade once but after getting hit in the face with a million happy memories of Sebastian and Leander coming up to them asking a million questions, Ominis decided that he won't be coming back for a few months.

Anne hasn't seen Ominis' face without tears for weeks now. His cheeks are always wet and the sides of his eyes have been rubbed raw, tear stains standing out against his pale skin. He's skinnier than usual, his fingers just a bit too bony for Anne's liking.

"I'd hurt myself if I wasn't so drained."
Anne for once in her life said to Ominis-
"Are you stupid?!"
She had said it to Sebastian more times than she can count, however, whether it'd be lighting leaves on fire in the forest or trying to break every rule in hogwarts, it was said usually with a bit of love or concern. Now, she's angry.
"You are hurting yourself!! You're hurting both of us!!- A-Are you-"
She stopped her yelling as soon as Ominis knelt up, desperately trying to find her forearms to hold himself up, after finding them he tried his hardest to direct his face towards hers. His quiet and sobbed out apologies made her feel the worst she's ever felt. She brought him into a tight hug like the one they shared on the first morning after Sebastian's departure.

Anne doesn't flinch anymore when Ominis calls her "Sebastian". She figures it gives him comfort and it's not like he does it all the time. The first couple times when she came home and heard "hello Sebastian..." She felt her heart sink. She wondered if he'd ever be able to accept that he's gone, if he'd be in denial for the rest of his life. He'd act like Sebastian was still there, he'd write letters and put them on his old desk, wondering when Sebastian is going to write back.

Overall, Anne knows that Ominis is thankful for her. His family would never let him stay off, even if he was violently ill. His father would scold him for his tears if he saw them. His mother would threaten his freedom if she heard him raise his voice like he did. His siblings would do nothing but ridicule him for even caring for someone outside of the family, especially some trouble causing little boy.

But for now, all Anne and Ominis have are each other, and the dread of wishing that things would've turned out differently...
